ColourPop Face of the Day

Hey doll hey.  Hope you are having a good day. Today it’s cold here in Florida so I’m doing my best to stay warm so that I don’t end up in too much pain.

Today I used the palette I created from ColourPop.

I did a coral look today. I really love the look I came up with today.

Base: Today’s primer is the Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer ($32 at Ulta and the Tarte website). For my foundation I picked Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup ($40 on the Urban Decay website) in the color 4.0. I woke up with dark circles under my eyes so I used Tarte CC undereye corrector ($25 at Ulta and the Tarte website) in the color light medium. Concealer is NYX Gotcha Covered Waterproof Concealer (discontinued) in the color Medium Olive. To set my face and my undereye I used Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Sephora and Laura Mercier website) in translucent. I couldn’t find my ELF undereye setting powder so I just used the Laura Mercier one. For bronzer I chose Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($30 at Ulta).

Eyes: I primed my eyes as always with my Tarte Shape Tape (regularly $27 on sale for $19 at Ulta) in the color Light Medium Honey. I set the Shape Tape with the color Hear Me Out. As my first transition color I used Issues followed by a combination of Bel Air and Wake Up Call as my second transition shade. My crease color is also a combination of Cut-Outs and Criss Cross, I also used this combination on the outer and inner 1/3 of my lid as well as the lower lash line. I deepened my outer v with the color Feathered. I used Over It as the color on my middle 1/3 of my lid and highlighted the inner corner of my eye with Party Favors.  I highlighted my brow bone with Wet n Wild’s Color Icon (.99 at Walgreens) in Sugar. I used NYX Faux Whites ($8 at Ulta) in the color Linen in my lower water line and lined my upper lash line with The Balm Schwing Liner ($17 at the Balm website). I did my brows with ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at ELF’s website) and ELF Wow Brow ($4 on teh ELF website) in the color Deep Brown. For mascara I am back to using my Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black ($8.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:  I used Milani Rose Blush Trio Palette (12.99 on Milani’s website) in the color 02 Floral Fantasy, I used the first shade in the palette. For highlight today I used BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector ($38 at Sephora) in the color Champagne Pop. My lip liner today is Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Pencil ($18 at Sephora) and I paired it with Milani Amore Matte Metallic Lip Creme ($8.99 at Walgreens) in the color 12 Prismatic Touch.

The Review:

Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer is a silicon based primer that goes on velvety. It really blurs the pores but the down side is the smell. It’s just a standard pore primer for me.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup is a serum like foundation that goes on flawless. It feels like skin. There are 15 shades in the range (7 for darker skin) and is worth every penny. It is long wearing but you do have to set this one down with some face powder.

Tarte CC undereye corrector is by far my favorite corrector. It brightens the undereye and is creamy and doesn’t sink into the fine lines of the undereye and a little goes a long way.

NYX Gotcha Covered Waterproof Concealer is discontinued and I understand why. It is so thick. It’s hard to get this concealer out of the tube and even when you set it it still sinks into the fine lines. It’s just not a good concealer at all.

I didn’t think I would like the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I thought is would go on chalky and muddy and I just thought that the Hoola Bronzer was over rated. Boy was I wrong! First of all it is hella pigmented!! A little goes a long way. It goes on smoothly and has a nice from with in glow to it. It’s an orange based bronze that buffs into the skin nicely. I only have the mini but after trying it I ended up purchasing the full sized version.

The ColourPop eyeshadow palette I created retails for $24 (you get 12 shadows and a zpalette). The colors I picked were ….

Hear Me Out is a matte cream. Issues is a light peach matte. Party Favors is a peach with gold reflect duochrome.  Over It is a peach with gold reflect metallic. Bel Air is a cool toned taupe. Wake Up Call is a light cool tones tan matte. Cut Outs is a true toned coral matte. Criss Cross a red toned orange matte. Take the Lead is a medium grey matte. Feathered is a chocolate brown matte. Cloud Nine is a dark brown with plum undertones matte. Lets Do It is a dark black matte.

I am still amazed that there is so much pigment in their eye shadows. The price is perfect. ColourPop has high end quality at drug store prices. I can’t wait to purchase more products.

The Balm Schwing Liner and I just can’t get along. I truly dislike this liner. I tried to do a thin line but because it’s so wet it seeps into the lines of my lids. I like that it dries down matte but I just can’t seem to make this one work for me.

ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil and ELF Wow Brow may be replacing my brow powder. I am obsessed with how good the eyebrows turn out with this duo. ELF did good when they produced these two products.

I completely forgot that I had the Milani Rose Blush Trio Palette in my collection.  I love this trio. It is 3 shades of coral, 2 mattes and 1 satin blushes. They are long wearing, moderately pigmented (which is good so you don’t over do it), and the price is great $9 for the trio makes each shade $3.00 a piece.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in the color Champagne Pop was the first high end item I purchased for myself. It is a peach color with gold reflect. For as shiny as this highlighter is it doesn’t have glitter in it. BECCA knows what they are doing with highlighters. They melt into the skin and buff in so easily and are so pigmented that a little goes a long way.

Milani Amore Matte Metallic Lip Cremes are so amazing. For a liquid lip they aren’t drying. They last long and smell great. It’s important to use a good lip balm before using this product but other than that these lip cremes are everything I look for in a liquid lip.

Milani is a great drug store brand. One of my top 3 favorites.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope the day finds you with plenty of spoons.

And remember always save a spoon for a bit of lipstick
