As promised I revisited the Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops.
Today I tried them with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer mixed in. I used 5 drops with 3 pumps of primer. Right off the bat I realized this was way too much product. Hey, there is a learning curve with this product. I used way too much primer and ended up having to throw away a ton of product.
With the drops you control how pigmented your foundation will be. The more drops you use the more coverage you get. With 5 drops of pigment drops I got a full coverage foundation. Mixing it in with my primer gave me a demi-matte finish. The down side to using the Mineral Veil Primer was that since I was already using a primer I couldn’t use a primer to blur my pores which I didn’t mind so much since I am staying home today anyway.
I think I have it figured out now. The more drops I use the less mixing product I need.
Yesterday I said I didn’t like this product and gave it a solid C-. I said I liked the original more than the new one.
Today …. I have changed my mind. After retrying this product today I love the new formula much more than I do the older formula. It’s dewier, more pigmented, and a spot of match for my skin.
I didn’t realize that the new drops are more pigmented until I mixed my foundation today. 5 Drops of the older formula gave me a medium light coverage. 5 drops of the new formula gave me full on coverage, yet my skin still looks like skin. I really enjoy the finish.
I would give this product a A-. I only gave it an A- because the bottle is smaller than the original was. I would be willing to pay a little extra for the bigger bottle. I love these drops so much that I want to wear them all the time now. But with the smaller bottle that means repurchasing at a faster rate.
Final Thoughts …. Cover FX Custom Cover Drops are amazing. This is why I try never to do a first impression post because you never know ,until you retry something a second time, whether or not you truly like the product.
