Radiofrequency Ablation Update

Hi dolls. So it’s the day after my Radiofrequency Ablation procedure and I am st ill hurting pretty badly.

The day of the procedure was pretty intense. It started with anesthesia team. They had a hard time putting a line in. My veins kept collapsing. It took 7 tries to finally get a line put in and that line was in my wrist…. boy did that hurt. Today my veins are all bruised and sore and the site on my wrist is very tender.

Next instead of putting my under right away they gave me local anesthesia , this way I could still be awake when the probes were in place to make sure they were in the right position. When the probes hit the nerve that is to be burned it stings a little… it was very uncomfortable.  They then injected me with a numbing agent which burns when it goes in.

Then I am put under anesthesia and don’t remember anything until I was back in my room with the nurse standing over me asking if I’d like some apple juice. I didn’t feel any pain just then because the numbing agent was still working.

The car ride home was a bit uncomfortable. Every pothole killed me. Then it was off to bed. For some reason after anesthesia I sleep for a few hours when I get home.

When I woke up I could feel the pain… and boy was there pain…. I had to lay on my side to keep from aggravating my procedure site. The pressure I felt was intense, even laying on the other hip I felt the pressure.

I tried a ice pack but that just made the pain worse so I just chose to ride out the healing process.

I babied myself the whole day, resting and binge watching the DC Universe’s Titans. I fell asleep for the night around 11 (it was hard to get to sleep because of the pain).

Flash forward to this morning. I woke up hurting because somehow in the middle of the night I had flipped over onto the side I get the procedure in. I needed my husband’s help to get out of bed today and to shower because I can’t bend over just now.

I decided to do my makeup anyway, and that took forever because I had to stop and rest for a little because the pressure on my hip area was bad.

Today I will baby my hip to give it just 1 more day to heal, normally I am not hurting this bad the day after Radiofrequency Ablation …. it has to be that I was sleeping on the site, but it is what it is and I’ll just have to round with the punches.

Today I can take some Tylenol for the pain, which I have already done and I will rest the rest of the day.

By tomorrow I will be feeling much better and by Sunday I will be able to bend all the way over and touch my toes.

Yes, there is a ton of pain that comes with Radiofrequency Ablation , but the outcome (after the healing) is so worth the little bit of time I spend in pain. I’m able to have mobility and I’m able to sit up for the most part.

The days before having Radiofrequency Ablation I couldn’t sit up right for more than an hour at a time without hurting so much.

Radiofrequency Ablation definitely gives me a better quality life.

Well that’s all for now dolls, hope your day is good.

Remember save a spoon for a bit of makeup.

XOXO
