Matte Eyed Face of the Day

Good morning dolls…  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas. I spent most of the day resting, I over did it on Christmas Eve. Today I feel stiff. So far my pain level is steady at 6. I woke up feeling a bit more energetic than I have been in the past few weeks …. yes the spoons are flowing…. I really wanted to try a full eye of mattes only and I hadn’t used my The Balm Meet Matt(e) palettes in a while so this is the look I decided on …. So let’s jump into it…..

BASE: Today I primed my face with Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer ($17 at Sephora). I color corrected my under eyes with the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium. I concealed my eyes with The Balm Time Balm Concealer ($18 on their website) in the color Light-Medium. I chose The Balm Even Steven Whipped Foundation ($22 on their website) in the color Light-Medium. I set my full face with The Balm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Powder ($20 on their website). I warmed up my face using Makeup Geek Bronzer ($14.99 on their website) in the color Sun Kissed.

EYES: I primed my lids with Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey. For my look today I used 2 Balm palettes …. Meet Matt(e) Ador () and Meet Matt(e) Nude (both palettes are $42 on their website)…. I set my Shape Tape with Matt Johnson (a cream colored matte) from the Ador palette… as my 1st transition shade I chose Matt Bernard (a light creamy orange matte) from the Ador palette. For my 2nd transition shade I picked Matt Russo (a dusty peach) from the same palette. I then switched to the Nude palette and deepened the area between the two transitions with Matt Singh (a deeper dusty peach matte). In my crease I chose Matt Rosen (a true light brown matte)  On my outer v I picked Matt Wood (a true dark brown matte). For my lids I used Matt Rosen again…on the outer 2/3 for the inner 1/3 I used Matt Malloy (a true white matte)… I then used Matt Wood on the outer 1/3 to deepen that area a bit. ON my lower lash line I used Matt Rosen again as my drop shadow and then I deepened the lash line with Matt Wood. I highlighted the inner corners with Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the color Honey Dew. I blocked out my eyebrows with ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 on their website) in Dark Brown. I filled in my brows with Professional Brow Powder ($10 at Oh La La Brow Bar) in Dark Brow, then I set my brows with ELF Wow Brow ($4 on their website) in the color Dark Brown. I carved out my brows with BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side. I used Matt Johnson again to set the brow highlighter. I used Mr. Write eyeliner pencil ($13 on their website) in the color Seymour Datenights on my water line. Today I chose It Cosmetics Hello Lashes ($24 at Ulta) for my mascara.

CHEEKS and LIPS: For blush today I am wearing The Balm Long-Wearing Blush ($21 on their website) in the color Balm Beach (a pale peach satin). I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, temples, and brow bone, as well as the Cupid’s Bow with Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.49 at Ulta) in 10 Be My Highlight. I lined my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 on the Beautylish website) in the color Pillow Talk and filled the lips in with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips ($34 on the Beautylish website) in the color Pin Up Pink (a coral pink matte).

Final Thoughts….

First without meaning to I guess my full face is almost completely The Balm Products again ….Second my hair is not cooperating with me today so please forgive the fly aways. and Lastly I am letting my brows grow back in so that I can pluck them. I’ve been using an eyebrow razor and I am not liking how it’s coming out so I want to reshape them again…. Now on to the grading of the products …..

The Balm Time Balm Concealer: B+                                                                                            This concealer comes in 9 shades (3 for light, medium, and dark skin). I’ve only used this concealer 3 times but I’m starting to fall in love with the look of it under my eyes. It’s not a super long lasting concealer and it tends to start to crease around the 5 hour mark for that I gave it a B+. But I will definitely continue to use it…. I would probably repurchase it as well.

The Balm Even Steven Whipped Foundation: A++                                                                  This foundation comes in 8 shades (3 for deeper skin). This is a very unique foundation. It’s a mousse like texture… and with this concealer the smallest amount goes a very long way. I just tap my finger into the pot and covers half my face …. this foundation layers on itself wonderfully as well. This matte foundation does dry down almost all the way … a little powder is all that is needed to completely set this foundation. I love the look of this one… it’s just so natural. I will definitely be repurchasing this foundation.

The Balm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Powder: B-                                                                                  It comes in a universal color but it’s not universal at all, this powder would pull ashy on anyone deeper skinned than me. It’s a great powder and very compact, but it only comes in s a shade to suite light to medium light skin. A little of this powder goes a long way. I will repurchase this product.

Makeup Geek Bronzer: A+++                                                                                                               I love the look of this bronzer… it’s not completely matte it has some sheen to it. It’s the perfect tone for bronzer. It builds well on itself so you can intensify your bronze in the summer. It’s just a perfect formula, so smooth and creamy. This is a bronzer I will always need in my collection.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Ador and Meet Matt(e) Nude Palettes: Both get an A+++              These palettes are so amazing…. super pigmented, very blendable, and they don’t muddle into each other when you blend them together. These are definite staples in my collection.

It Cosmetics Hello Lashes: B++                                                                                                          This is a good mascara for medium coverage days. I was having a love hate relationship with it at first but now I like it. I’ll use it up but I probably wont repurchase it, only because it’s a higher price point and my favorite mascara of life is the Voluminous Carbon Black….

The Balm Long-Wearing Blush: A+                                                                                                    I really love how this blush looks. So soft and romantic. It’s a blush that can go with any look. This is the blush I reach for on my no makeup and no makeup makeup look day…. I will definitely be repurchasing this one.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips: A+++                                                                                  These matte lipsticks are incredible!!! They go on so opaque. The formula is velvety and lasts a long time, even through greasy food. They are a comfortable lipstick as well. They weaar down evenly and you can re-apply this product without feeling like it’s crumbling or chunky. I so want more of the colors in the line and will definitely be purchasing more.

Well that’s all for now babies…. Hope you have an amazing day and remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lip gloss.

XOXO
