Hey doll hey. Hope you are having a great day. I got off to a late start today. The cold weather we are having here in Florida has me i heaps of pain and very stiff. Today was the first day all year I had to turn on the heat. My hair isn’t playing well with others and it took me a while to get my makeup half way decent today…. So let’s just jump into the Face of the Day …..
Base: I primed my face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer ($37 at Sephora). For foundation I chose Loreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the color 420 True Beige. I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium and followed that up with Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25-HR Lightweight Medium Coverage Concealer ($4.99 at Target) in the color 200 Light. I set my face using Pixi by Petra Colour Correcting Powder Foundation ($20 at Target) in the color No. 2 Nude. I then set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of the nose, and center of my forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website). To warm up my face I used Rimmel London Natural Bronzer ($5.79 at Target) in the color 022 Sun Bronze.
Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey. For today’s look I am using the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on the Tati Beauty website). I used the color Aura-Matte (a cream colored) to set the Shape Tape. For my transition color I used Soothe-Matte (a tan colored). To deepen my crease and the outer 1/2 of my mobile lid I used Ritual-Matte (a deep true brown). I then used Soothe-Metallic (a tan) all over the mobile lid and then layered some of Ritual-Metallic over the outer 1/2 of the mobile lid. I used Soothe-Matte on my lower lash line to smoke it out and then followed that up with Ritual-Matte to deepen the lower lash line a bit. I used Aura-Metallic on the inner corners to highlight that area. On my waterlines I first went in with ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the color HoneyDude (a nude) but was not getting much color payoff so I switched to Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website) in the color Nude. I did my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) and Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the color 4.5 and then carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that with more of Aura-Matte. For mascara today I chose MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash ($20 at MAC and Ulta).
Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I have on Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the color Seduce (a rosey nude matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, and Cupid’s bow using Makeup Geek Highlighter ($9.99 on their website) in the color Midnight Sun (a golden champagne). I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 on the Beautylish website) in the color Pillow Talk (a pink nude matte) and filled in my lips using Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick ($5.94 at Ulta) in the color Wink for Pink (a mid-toned pink peralised finish). I then topped the center of my lips with NARS Lipgloss ($24 at Sephora and on their website) in the color Dolce Vita (a mid-toned berry mauve).
Final Thoughts:
Loreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation: A+++!!! I’ve already done a full face Loreal review where I reviewed this foundation ( you can view that here -> Loreal Review )so I’ll make this short …. I freaking love the finish of this foundation!!! I will definitely repurchase this one when I run out.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25-HR Lightweight Medium Coverage Concealer:A++ This is one of the only things I loved from when I did my Full Face Rimmel post -> Rimmel Review . This concealer is really nice, I just hate the sponge tipped applicator it’s so scratchy on the eyes.
Pixi by Petra Colour Correcting Powder Foundation: A++ This is not a full coverage foundation powder but it works great as a setting powder. It completely set my foundation and didn’t emphasize pores and fine lines.
Rimmel London Natural Bronzer: B- Like I said in my Rimmel Review, there is nothing special about this bronzer it’s just OK. However, this is the first time I used it to contour my nose and the color is perfect for a nose contour.
Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette: A+++!!!! Holy sweet baby pickles!!! This palette is life!!!! The finely milled shadows blended out effortlessly and did not go muddy when buffed into other colors. There was some kickback in the pans but no fallout on the face. This is a well formulated palette and well worth the splurge. I might even use some of the glitters in my next look just because they are so perfectly formulated.
ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner in the color HoneyDude: D- This is specific to this color only. This color did not want to set down on my waterline. I couldn’t get any color payoff at all. Now I tested it on the back of my hand and it swatched well which means it should be good for the upper lash line, however what’s the point to a nude eye liner on the upper lash line??? I loved the other 2 BBF Liners I tried so this one was a let down.
MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash: A+++!!! I really love this mascara for my lower lashes. I tried it on my upper lashes and it looks pretty. This is a mascara that has been in my collection many times over the past few years. I will always repurchase this mascara.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: A+ This is the first product I tried from Revlon. This lipstick is comfortable on the lips and doesn’t have a scent. It’s not the most long wearing lipstick, however it’s so reasonably priced that i don’t mind having to reapply it. It doesn’t feather and doesn’t travel outside the lip line.
Well that’s it for now dolls. Hope you have a good rest of your day. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
I knew that Tati wouldn’t settle for anything less than ‘perfect’ if she’d come up with makeup! Bomb quality, especially the mattes. Will you try her blending sponge as well?
