Orange Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I’m still in a fibro flare and am in a considerable amount of pain today. I woke up feeling a bit more refreshed today so hopefully I will have a good energy day. I was feeling like I wanted to do an orange look today so I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on her website). So let’s jump into the Face of the Day ….

Base: I primed using the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer (). For foundation I am wearing Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation () in the shade 4.5 Medium. My concealer is J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer () in the shade Custard. I set my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder () in translucent. I warmed up the face using ELF Contour Palette ($8 on their website) in the light/medium color way and I used the 1 shade of the 2nd row. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

20200130_123254  Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium Honey and set that with a small amount of the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. Today’s eye look I used the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on her website). For my transition shade I used the color Story-Matte (the burnt orange row). On my mobile lid I used the color Story-Metallic (the same row of color) on the outter 2/3 of my mobile lid and then went in with Aura-Metallic (the cream row) over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then went back and forth between the two shades over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the seams between the inner and outer 1/3. I took more of Story-Matte on the lower lash line. I took a mixture of Soothe-Matte (the tan row of color) and Ritual-Matte (the brown row of color) and deepened my outer v, taking a little of the mixture into the crease as well. I then took more of Ritual-Matte closest to my lash line to smoke out the lower lash line. I used the Urban Decay Single Shadow () in the shade Midnight Cowboy to highlight the inner corners. I tight lined my upper waterline and my lower waterline using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($) in the shade Swerve (black). I did my brows with Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 and then set my brows using Benefit Gimme Brow ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 6. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that using Aura-Matte (the cream row of color). For mascara I used Benefit Roller Lash Mascara () in black.

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is J Cat Beauty Blush-Mallow Soft Blush () in the shade Tutti Fluffy (a bright pinky coral matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead using Pixi X Rachh Loves The Layers Highlighting Palette () in a mix of the shades Lace ( a pale icy pink) and Clutch (a pale champagne) and then I used just Clutch to highlight my Cupid’s Bow.  I then used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder () in the shade 2 Medium as a finishing powder. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade BFF (a warm nude) and filled my lips in using MAC Amplified Lipstick () in the shade Blankety (a very pale nude peach).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                             While I really love the look I came up with today I feel like the lipstick might be too nude for the shadow. I was afraid of the Orange row of shadows in the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette at first. I thought it would either look too muddy or too Orange…. This shade is so amazing! It blends out beautifully and doesn’t go muddy when buffing other colors into it. I’m truly loving this palette so much.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation: A+++!!!                                                                             I’ve talked about this foundation tons, for good reason… this foundation looks so beautiful on the face! It blends in to seamlessly that you can’t even tell you have foundation on and it doesn’t emphasize texture on the face.

J Cat Beauty Staysurance Water-Sealed Zero-Smudge Concealer: B-                                          I have been trying this one on and off since I purchased it. Some days it looks amazing and other days, like today, it looks like the Sahara Desert . I have a very emollient eye cream so it shouldn’t look as dry as it does under my eyes today. It just seems to emphasize my fine lines 10 fold today. This concealer is just hit or miss for me now.

ELF Contour Palette: A-                                                                                                                 Ever since trying new bronzers I don’t love this one as much as I did. It’s still a great bronzer but it just doesn’t have the under tone that I am drawn to.

ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner in the color Swerve: A++                                                           I am so confused with these BFF Gel Liners… some work on my waterline and others don’t. This one worked great. And the black is just the right shade, not too black and not to grey. It’s long lasting too.

MAC Amplified Lipstick in the color Blankety: A+++                                                                     I love the Amplified formula so much. It’s so creamy and comfortable on the lips and Blankety is the prettiest pale nude I have ever owned. It’s super pale without looking like concealer lips. I forgot I owned this shade and since using today have moved it to my everyday drawer.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you continue to have a great day/night and that you are as pain free as possible and with plenty of spoons…. remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
