ir

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I’m doing OK today. Today I picked 7 more older makeup products to test out to see if I’m going to keep it or declutter it. The items I chose today are: Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($46 at Sephora), Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer (Discontinued), Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer (), BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora), MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC), the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette ($49 at Ulta), and the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator ($26 on their website). I will review those 7 items in Final Thoughts…. so let’s jump into the Face of the Day ….

Base: I primed the face using the Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer (discontinued) and followed that up with the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora). I color corrected using the Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. For foundation I am using the Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($46 at Sephora) in the shade Buff. I used Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer ($26 at Sephora) in the shade Light-Medium to conceal my under eyes. I set my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of nose, and center of my forehead using the RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

Eyes: I primed the lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium Honey and set that with more Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. For today’s eye look I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette ($49 at Ulta). For my 1st transition color I used the shade Salted Caramel (a mid-toned orange based tan matte). As my 2nd transition color I used the shade Milk Chocolate (a dusty light brown matte). In my crease and the outer 1/2 of my mobile lid I used the shade Semi-Sweet (a mid-toned brown matte). On my mobile lid I used the shade Marzipan (a peachy shimmer) on the inner 2/3 of the lid and then I used the shade Black Forest Truffle (a deep burgundy brown with silver and gold flecks sequin) on the outer 1/3 and a little into the middle 1/3. I then took the a mixture of Hazelnut (a taupy brown metallic) and Creme Burlee (a gold metallic) and used that on there middle 1/3 to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. I then took the shade Triple Fudge (a deep brown matte) and deepened the outer v. On the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Salted Caramel and then used the shade Semi-Sweet and Triple Fudge to deepen the lash line. I then lined my waterlines with NYX Eye Pencil ($4.50 at Ulta) in the shade Brown. I then did my eyebrows the same way I did them yesterday … using the Soap Brow technique to set my brows and filling in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that with the shade White Chocolate (a vanilla matte). I then went over the tails of my brows using some of my Professional Brow Powder ($10 at the Oh La La Brow Bar) in the shade Dark Brown. I used the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($6.79 at Target).

Final Thoughts:

Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā This primer is discontinued. I really don’t like stick primers, they drag across the face rudely. This one is no different. It’s a sticky primer that doesn’t seem to do anything. It doesn’t hold foundation well (I already have foundation removed from around my nose). I wasn’t impressed with it and have decluttered it from my collection.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  This is such a beautiful illuminator. I love the way my skin looks when I have this one on. I even use it on days where I am not wearing any makeup. I am definitely keeping this primer. I will not be decluttering it.

Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation Stick:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā I rarely reach for this foundation. It gets lost in my foundation collection. I do love the look of this foundation and I mainly purchased this one for travel, but due to my illness I almost never get a chance to travel….. I do really enjoy using this foundation so I am going to move it to my makeup desk so that it doesn’t get lost in the flow and I can use it more. I will not be decluttering this one either.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  I only have 1/2 a bottle left of this concealer. I do like it it’s just not the color I’m liking anymore. It’s my exact face color and I have been liking concealers a shade lighter than my skin tone. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines around my eyes and it sets beautifully. I think I will use this one up and then try for the shade Light Neutral. I will not be declutter this one from my collection.

MAC Bronzing Powder:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  I have the shade Matte Bronze and it’s a great everyday shade. It’s got the perfect under-tone and isn’t dusty or cakey. I just seem to forget that I have it since it’s so slim and gets lost in my collection. I have moved it to my makeup desk and will not be decluttering it.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā This eyeshadow palette is such a great neutrals palette. The shades a bit dustier than some of my other palettes but they blend out smoothly with out skipping and the buff into each other seamlessly without getting muddy. There is little to no kick back in the pans and very little fall out on the face. I love all the colors in this palette and I have loved every look I have created with it. I will not be decluttering this palette.

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator:Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  I really have tried to love this cult classic but I just don’t. I find it to be too harsh because of the glitter. It’s a beautiful color, I just don’t love the way it sits on my face. I have decluttered it.

So there you go… out of the 7 older products I tested out today I am keeping 5 of them and have decluttered 2.

I hope you have a great rest of your day/night. Stay tuned tomorrow when I test out more of my stash to see what I will keep and what I will get rid of. Until then I hope you have as close to a pain free day as humanly possible and that your spoon count is high. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
