Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Hopefully it’s a good one for you. I woke up in some pain, it rained all night and is colder today and it’s slated to rain today too so my fibro is going haywire. I have 7 more products to share with you, 5 of which I tested out and 2 of which I just knew straight off the bat that I wasn’t going to use. The products on the chopping block today are …. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer, NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer, NYX Matte Bronzer (in medium … I own 2 shades this one and Deep so I tested this one to see which I would keep). I will discuss these products and what I will keep or declutter in Final Thoughts…. So let’s jump into the Face of the Day.
Base: I primed the face using Marc Jacobs Invisible Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer ($45 at Sephora) and ELF Poreless Putty Primer ($8 at Ulta and on the ELF website). I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium. For foundation I used All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation ($49 at Sephora) in the shade Light 5 Fiji. I concealed my under eyes using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 on their website) in the shade Medium 1 Custard. I set my face using J Cat Beauty Aquasurance Compact Foundation ($13.99 at Ulta and on the J Cat Beauty website) in the shade Natural. I warmed up my face using NYX Matte Bronzer ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Medium. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, center of the forehead, and bridge of the nose using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).
Eyes: I primed my lids using more of the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 on their website) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. For today’s eye look I used the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette ($49 at Sephora and on the Too Faced website). For my 1st transition color I used the shade Georgia (a muted soft light peach matte). For my 2nd transition color I used the shade Candied Peach (a coral based peach with gold flecks sequin). My crease color is the shade Puree (a mid-tone yellow based brown matte). On my mobile lid I first started out with the shade Nectar (a pale yellow based peach shimmer) on the inner 2/3 and then I used the shade Caramelized (a mid-toned brown with gold reflect metallic) on the outer 1/3. I then went into the shade Luscious (a taupe with gold reflect metallic) and used that on the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I didn’t like the way it looked so I layered the shade Bellini (a mauvey pink shimmer) over the inner 2/3 and then layered the shade Just Peachy (a peachy pink shimmer) over the middle 1/3 blending it toward the inner 1/3. I then added the shade Charmed I’m Sure (a dusty dark brown matte) into the outer v and low down on the crease. I set my brow hair using Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer ($10 at Target) in clear and then filled in the brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta, Walmart, and the ELF website) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out the brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then set that with the shade White Peach (a creamy white satin). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic). I lined my upper lash line using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($21 at Sephora) in the shade Mad Max Brown. For mascara I used Pixi by Petra Lash Booster Mascara ($15 at Target and on the Pixi website) in the shade Blackest Black.
Cheeks and Lips: On the cheeks I used ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the shade Birthday Suit (a neutral pink satin). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, Cupid’s bow, and center of the forehead using ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the shade Wisp (pearlized golden champagne). I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 at Sephora, and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Pillow Talk (a neutral pink) and filled in my lips using BH Cosmetics Cashmere Cream Comfort Lipstick ($8 at Ulta and on the BH Cosmetics website…. on sale for $6) in the shade Yas (a coral pink).
Final Thoughts:
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette: I purchased this one on a whim when it first came out. I barely ever use it. I just feel underwhelmed with it. I don’t reach for peach shades often. While I think the look I came up with today was a pretty soft Spring look, it’s just not my cup of tea. Not to mention that there isn’t a cohesive array of shades. There is tons of kick back in the pans and some fall out on the face. I just don’t feel inspired by this palette and so I have decided to declutter it from my collection.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream: I normally use this CC cream during the summer months… I just have found other BB and CC creams that I like more and that do not have that odd scent to it. Not to mention I have it in the shade Medium (which is a tad darker than me, but Light is too light for me). It just feels greasier than the other BB and CC creams I have so I have decided to declutter this one from my collection.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner: This is one of my favorite ink liner formulas. I have it in both Black and Brown. It doesn’t seep into the fine lines of my lids, doesn’t transfer to the lower lash line, and stays in place all day. While I do not support Kat Von D anymore, I do have some of her products that I am trying to use up. I will not be decluttering this from my collection.
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation: The shade I have is a spot on match for my skin tone. I love this foundation so much. It just looks so pretty on the skin. I haven’t reach for it a ton this past year, honestly most of last year I was in a bad depression and didn’t do my makeup but when I came out of the depression I still didn’t reach for it much. I really do love this foundation and have moved it to my everyday drawer so that I can use it more. I will not be decluttering this one.
NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer: I have a love/hate relationship with this one. I love the coverage I get. I love how it looks under the eyes. I love to use it as a primer for my lids… But I hate that I can’t wear it without setting it. When I set it it looks dry, even after I use setting spray. But I can’t leave it without powder because it creases on me…. I haven’t reached for it much, so I plan to move it to my everyday drawer to try and use it up within the next 6 months. If I haven’t used it up by then I will declutter it… for now I will not be decluttering this concealer.
NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer: This concealer was discontinued. I don’t have much of it left, and I’m not wowed by it… Honestly I have so many concealers that I just can’t justify keeping it. I have decluttered it.
NYX Matte Bronzer: In the shade Medium: I have this bronzer in 2 shades, medium and deep. I like the tone of the deep one more than I like the tone in the medium one. I will keep the deep one and declutter the medium one.
Well, that’s all for now dolls. I hope the rest of your day/night is a good one. Stay tuned tomorrow when I revisit some more makeup on the chopping block…. and ….Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
