Valentine’s Day Look #2 Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! Hope you are having a great day/night and that you are in good spirits. Today I am in pain, what I always say is if I ever wake up with no pain I will think I’m dead …. having pain all the time is soul draining. Fibromyalgia can take a lot out of you… always being in pain, always having energy drains…. but I’ve decided that I am not going to let Fibromyalgia keep me at the sidelines forever…. So I showered and sat down to do my makeup …. I was excited to play with the new ColourPop All That Palette and really wanted to do another Valentine’s Day look. I also tested out 3 more products to see if I would be getting rid of them or keeping them…lose products are …. Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation in the shade 366 C Buff Bisque, Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in the shade Rosary, and the NYX Born to Glow Highlighting Palette.  I will review not only the eye shadow palette, but also the 3 things on the chopping block in Final Thoughts. So without further ado, let’s jump into the Face of the Day …..

Base: I primed the face using Flower Beauty In Your Primer Pore-Minimizing Primer ($10.99 at Ulta). I color corrected my under eyes using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium. For foundation I am wearing Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation ($2.79 at Walmart) in the shade 366 C Buff Bisque. I concealed my under eyes using The Balm Time Balm Concealer ($18 on their website) in the shade Light-Medium. I set my face using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade Beige. I warmed up the face using Makeup Geek Fair Skin Bronzer (discontinued do to rebranding) in the shade Sun Kissed. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and center of the forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).

Eyes: I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. To create this look I used ColourPop All That Palette ($18 om their website). For my 1st transition shade I used the color BB Girl (a true baby pink matte). For my 2nd transition shade I used the color Cha Cha (a mid-toned warm pink matte). I went in with a 3rd transition shade to really blow the eye line out and used the color Wink Wink (a dusty red matte). I deepened my crease using the shade Silhouette (a muted burgundy matte). I then used more Soft Matte Complete Concealer to clean up the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid. On the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the color Infatuation (a bright scarlet metallic) and on the inner 1/3 I used the shade Uncensored (a bright rosey copper metallic). I then used the color Please Me (a deep merlot matte) to deepen the outer v and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. To create the drop shadow on my lower lash line I first used the color BB Girl, followed by the shade Wink Wink, followed by the color Silhouette. I then lined my lower waterline using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Joy Ride (deep burgundy) and then smoked out the lower lash line using the color Please Me. I highlighted the inner corners using the color Risque (an icy pink with silver reflect metallic). I set my brows today first with the soap brow method and then went in with a bit of Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer ($10 at Target) in clear. I filled in the brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 on their website) in the shade Deep Brown. I carved out my  brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the color Uncuffed (a pale baby pink matte).  my mascara today is Revolution Beauty The Mascara Revolution ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Black.

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Natural Beauty (a rosey red matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of the forehead, and my Cupid’s Bow using NYX Born to Glow Highlighting Palette ($25 at Ulta) and using the top left shade (a pale white gold). I lined my lips using Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner ($19 on their website but on sale for $8 at Sephora) in the shade Rosary (a true cherry red). I filled in my lips using Becky G x ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick ($9 on their website) in the shade Fee Fi Fo (an red-orange terra cotta).

Final Thoughts:

ColourPop All That 12 Pan Eyeshadow Palette:                                                                        This palette was so fun to play with today!!! I would grade this palette an A+++!!!! There was only a small amount of kick back with some of the darker shades in the pan and there was zero fallout on the face, except with the shade Infatuation which had a small amount of glitter fall out. The shades blended into the lids perfectly with out skipping or going patchy and each shade buffed into each other seamlessly without going muddy. The shade variation is perfectly done. There are 3 shades for transition, 3 shades for crease work, 2 shades for highlighting the brow bone, and 4 metallics that look beautiful on the lids. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use the shades in any order and on any part of the eye you want. This palette is just so pretty. I am very happy with the way the look turned out today and can’t wait to do a smokey red eye next. Definitely a great purchase!

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation:                                                                                                I love the way this foundation sets down on the skin. It looks pretty. The only thing I don’t like is that it’s so matte. I barely reach for it because of how matte it is. I have decided to declutter this one from my collection, however I did just place an order on Amazon for the Dewy version of this foundation to test out.

Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner:                                                                                                        I have several of these lip liners. They are super pigmented, glide on smoothly with out pulling at the delicate lip line. They don’t feather into the fine lines around the lips either. I will not be purchasing any more from this brand until I see what the “rebranding” does… I do not support Kat Von D and even though she isn’t part of the company right now, doesn’t mean she wont be later down the line…. but I will use up the products I have, I don’t understand the whole throwing something away that I spent  my hard earned money on just because I don’t agree and refuse to support any further a brand. I will not be decluttering this liner.

NYX Born to Glow Highlighting Palette:                                                                                     This palette arrived with 1 shade broken. I have tried each of the remaining shades. The shades a pretty but there is glitter in this palette and the highlighters are so dusty and powdery that it just seems to sit on top of the cheeks even after using a setting spray.  I have decided to declutter this palette from my collection.

Well there you have it… I loved the All That palette and decluttered 2 of the 3 products on the chopping block today.

I hope you enjoy the look I came up with as much as I do… I truly love the way it came out. I also hope that the rest of your day/night goes wonderfully and that you are in a low pain level with a high energy level.

Remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
