Copper Eyed Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up with very little energy today so my makeup took me a long time to do. I had to keep taking breaks to rest. I also had to redo my makeup 3 times because I couldn’t get an eye look I liked. I tried to do a graphic eye look and that turned out really crappy, I tried to do a deep cut crease and that turned out crappy, and I tried to do a vampy smokey look and yup you guessed it, that turned out crappy. But, it’s OK…. It’s only makeup, and it can be removed and reapplied. So since my energy was really bad today I decided just to play it safe and do a basic coppery eye look. So let’s jump into the Face of the Day …..

Base: I double primed today. First I primed the face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Smoothing Primer ($37 at Sephora) and then I primed using Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Primer ($5.99 at Ulta). I color corrected using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi website) in the shade Brightening Peach. My foundation today is the new Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Foundation ($4.99 at Target) in the shade Soft Beige. I concealed my under eyes using Loreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer ($5.99 at Target) in the shade 360 Cashmere. I set my under eyes using ColourPop No Filter Setting Powder ($10 on their website) in the shade Translucent. I set the rest of my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up the face using Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($30 at Ulta). I baked my jaw line, center of the forehead, and bridge of the nose using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 at Beautylish website). I then used the Too Faced Turn Up the Light Palette ($42 at Ulta) in the shade Soft Focus as a finishing powder.

Eyes: I primed the lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using more of the Laura Mercier powder. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Double Entendre Palette ($18 on their website). As my transition shade I used a combo of the colors Extra Curricular (a soft burnt orange matte) and Send Noodles (soft tan matte). For my crease shade I used the color Nip Slip (a warm saddle brown matte). I deepened up the outer v using a combo of the shades Hard (a deep terracotta matte) and Teddy Bear (a deep chocolate brown matte). I also brought this combo onto the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I used the shade Keep It PG (a champagne gold metallic) on the inner  2/3 of the mobile lid. I then used the shade Draft (a deep rose gold metallic) on the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I took more of the shade Hard and blended that in between the middle and outer 1/3 and then I went back into the shade Draft and blended that between the inner and middle 1/3 to help blend all the shades together. I created a drop shadow on the lower lash line using the shade Extra Curricular and then deepened the lash line using more of the shade Hard. I highlighted the inner corners using more of the shade Keep It PG and layered a bit of the Glow shade from the Too Faced Turn Up the Light palette ($42 at Ulta). I set my brows using ColourPop Brow Boss Gel ($7 on their website) in the shade Dark Brown and then filled in the brows using Loreal Brow Stylist Definer ($7.99 at Target) in the shade Dark Brunette. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($0.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar. I lined my lower waterlines using Jordana 12-HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil ($5.29 on Amazon) in the shade 04 Continuous Almond (a pale nude). I created a wing using Benefit Roller Liner ($22 at Ulta) in the shade Brown and tight lined my upper waterlines using Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner ($20 on their website) in the shade Coffee.I put on a pair of KoKo Queen B lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) and then used Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara ($23 at Ulta) in black on my upper and lower lashes.

Cheeks and Lips: For blush I used a blush my god daughter told me to try …. Burt’s Bees Blush ($9.49 at Target) in the shade 1205 Bare Peach. I highlighted the tops of the cheeks, bridge of my nose, center of my forehead, and Cupid’s Bow using Too Faced Turn Up the Light Palette ($42 at Ulta) in the shade Glow (a pale white gold). I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Pillow Talk (a nude pink) and filled in the lips using the corresponding Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34 at Sephora) in the shade Pillow Talk.  Today I used NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray ($8.50 at Target) to set my makeup.

Final Thoughts:

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Foundation: A+                                                                         This foundation’s formula is so much better than the original. It left my face looking so fresh and glowy. It didn”t settle into fine lines and it didn’t get cakey or patchy. It held up pretty well today too. The shade I chose was a spot on match for me and it didn’t feel heavy or greasy either. It’s a pretty good drug store foundation. I will definitely use this bottle up. I may even repurchase it.

Loreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer: B-                                                                                     OK so I tested this concealer out again, this time in a better shade match for me. It’s just an OK concealer. It’s high medium coverage. It’s a thick consistency concealer that is a tiny bit hard to blend in, but I think that’s because I used too much. I will have to try it out again with less product to see if it’s better for blending in. I’m going to test it out again later next week, if I don’t like it then I plan on decluttering it out of my collection, no need to keep a concealer I don’t like around.

ColourPop No Filter Setting Powder: B-                                                                                         As a setting powder for under the eyes this is a hard pass for me. It was way too drying for under the eyes. It left my under eye looking heavy and cakey. I’ve tried it in the past as an all over setting powder and it’s just OK. Nothing really to write home about. I’ll end up using this powder up but I will not be repurchasing it.

Too Faced Turn Up the Light Palette: A-                                                                                        This palette is so good. I just, again, wish it didn’t have a glittery highlighter as the 3rd pan. The 1st pan highlighter is so pretty and so everyday wearable.

Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner: A+                                            This eyeliner is crazy pigmented and easy to use. It’s smooth and doesn’t tug at the delicate skin of the eyes. It’s creamy and doesn’t skip on the waterlines. I also have it in Black and it is a very intense black.

Burt’s Bees Blush In The Shade Bare Peach: A+++!!!!                                                                     I am so glad my God daughter suggested I try this blush out. It is such a pretty everyday neutral peach shade!!! It blends out perfectly and isn’t patchy or cakey. It’s the perfect peach for every type of look you can think of.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick In The Shade Pillow Talk: A+++!!!!!                  I have a love affair with the shade Pillow Talk in the Lip Cheat. I had always wanted to try the lipstick shade too. So I purchased this shade today. It is the perfect nude pink for any look. It’s the your lips but better shade of pink. I loved it so much I jumped on line and ordered a back up.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Stay tuned for my next post which will be a haul post. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember, save a spoon for a bit on lipstick.

XOXO
