Spoonie Day Makeup Look Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I finally got my makeup nook cleaned and organized and I am very happy with how it turned out.  I wasn’t sure I would be able to get a Face of the Day post up today. We did a deep cleaning of the house and I was certain that I would be completely knackered. I am in a world of hurt right now, pain all over the body, from all the cleaning and I am very low on energy, but I thought I could at least do a quick go to makeup look. I really don’t like how my makeup came out, I wasn’t able to really take my time to blend and polish everything up, but at least I was able to play with my makeup after all. So even though I didn’t like my  makeup today, I figured I’d still post it…. after all it’s only makeup and can be washed off and started over…. and even though it’s a hot mess…. it reminded me of when I first started out doing my makeup… so I figured I’d share it anyway. This is one of my go to last minute, hurry up and do your makeup…makeup looks….. So let’s jump into the face of the day…..

Base: I primed my face using Catrice Prime and Fine Poreless Blur Primer ($7.99 at Ulta). I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the shade Light/Medium. For foundation I chose one that wouldn’t be to fiddly, NYX Born to Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Nude. I concealed my under eyes with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer ($32 at Sephora) in the shade 5.5 and then I set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up the face using ColourPop Pressed Bronzer ($8 on their website) in the shade Talk to the Palm. To save me some time and energy I did not bake my high points today.

Eyes: I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website). For my transition color I used more of the Talk to the Palm Bronzer from ColourPop. For the rest of the eye look I used the palette I made by Makeup Geek (discontinued due to rebranding). For my crease shade and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Dark Roast (a deep true brown matte). On my mobile lid I used the shade I’m Peachless (a light peach with gold flip shimmer) on the inner 2/3 and then went in with Punkin’ (a deep coral matte) on the middle 1/3 to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. On the lower lash line I ran what was left on my transition brush over it and then used more of Punkin’ closest to the lash line. I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Shimma Shimma (a pale champagne shimmer). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and filled in the brows using Loreal Brow Stylist Definer ($7.99 at Target) in the shade Dark Brunette. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that using the shade So Pale (a pale vanilla matte). I lined my waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade As If (a pale creamy nude). For mascara I used The Balm What’s Your Type ($19 on their website).

Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I am using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade B-Day Bae (a muted dusty pink matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of the nose, Cupid’s bow, and center of my forehead using Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ($44 at Sephora) in the shade Highlight-01 (a soft focus pale champagne). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Pencil ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Whipped Caviar (a dusty mauve) and topped off my lips using Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick (discontinued due to rebranding) in the shade Naive (a pale peach nude creme).

Final Thoughts: I really didn’t like this look because I feel like I look sick with the flu. I’m extremely weak right now and this was the best I could do but still I just look pale and washed out. I think the look might have not been so bad if I had the energy to do a winged liner, but I skipped it to save a bit of time. I did want to touch base about the Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Powder. This is an amazing powder!! It gives this beautiful soft focus powder that doesn’t take away from the glowy foundation. It sets your base without looking matte or cakey. This is definitely a powder I will keep in my collection and I can already tell that I will be repurchasing it when I’ve run out.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Sorry for the sloppy makeup job today. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
