Hey doll hey!!! How ya doing today?? Great I hope. I woke up a bit late today, around 8:45 this morning. I meant to wake up earlier so I could still do a great Face of the Day post and still have time to clean my makeup brushes too. I still have some clean brushes so I will still wash my every growing batch of dirty makeup brushes and still have brushes to get ready with tomorrow. I’m feeling a little stiff and sore so I decided just to do my go to makeup look. This just entails 2 shadows, no baking, a glowy primer and mix in, very light amount of concelaer, and no lashes…. It’s just a simple everyday appropriate look. So let’s get started ….
Base: I primed the face using J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator ($7.99 on their website) in the Licorice formula. I lightly color corrected just the inner corners of my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. For foundation today I used a combo of 3 pumps BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) and 4 pumps Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 4.5 Medium. I then took only 5 dots of concealer to my under eyes…. the one I used today was Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer ($29 at Ulta) in the shade Vanilla. I lightly set my whole face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent and then softly warmed up the face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in Matte Bronze.
Eyes: I primed my lids lightly using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website). For this look I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette ($48 at Sephora). I took a mixture of the shades Ludwin (peachy bronze matte) and Succubus (rich rust matte) and ran that through the crease and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid. I then ran the shade Lucius (soft beige matte) over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid I then took just the shade Succubus (rich rust matte) to deepen the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then used what ever was left on the brushes I used to create a soft drop shadow on the lower lash line. I highlighted the inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (an icy pink with purple flip). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and lightly filled in the brows using NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Espresso. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then set that using more of the shade Lucius (soft beige matte). I then tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using ColourPop Creme Gel Colour ($8 on their website) in the shade Stew (Warm brown with a yellow undertone). I primed my lashes using Loreal Voluminous Primer ($8.99 at Ulta) and then used the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara ($8.99 at Ulta) on the upper and lower lashes.
Cheeks and Lips: For blush I used Burt’s Bees blush ($9.49 at Target) in Bare Peach. I highlighted the center on my chin, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, tops of the cheeks, and center of my forehead using Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ($44 at Sephora) in the shade Highlight 01. I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Pillow Talk (a nude pink) and filled in my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Revolution Matte Lipstick ($34 at Sephora) in also the shade Pillow Talk (a nude pink).
Final Thoughts: I ended up having to take my foundation off and restarting because I tried to combine J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator with the Charlotte TIlbury foundation and it just went on patchy and cakey in areas around my face…. Something in this primer doesn’t allow it to be used as a mix in medium…. it’s a pretty primer and I had hoped it would have worked as a mix in medium …. but alas it was not meant to be.
I really love how my skin looks today… very dewy and very fresh looking. I don’t like my lashes today… they look too spidery but this is usually the case when I do my lashes with primer and mascara.
I will be doing a similar look tomorrow because I have a psychiatrist appointment early in the morning and need a makeup look that is quick and easy.
Well that’s all dolls. I do have makeup being delivered this week so I will have a makeup haul post for you later this week. In the meantime…. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember dolls, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
