ProCIV Reusable Makeup Remover Pads Review

Hey doll hey!! Hope you are enjoying your day/night!!! I wanted to take a moment to review those reusable facial rounds I purchased from Amazon.  I’ve used them for the past 2 days and thought, for those of you looking for an inexpensive…. echo-friendly alternative to disposable cotton pads, you might be interested in what I think about this brand’s product.

ProCIV Reusable Makeup Remover Pads. Made from Natural Organic Bamboo. Sold on Amazon for $11.97 for 16 rounds.

First off…. when I opened the package I didn’t know they were as big as they are…. they are about the size of hand. The next thing I noticed was that they were incredibly soft…. I thought, because they are made from organic bamboo, they would be rougher and stiffer than they are. These pads are so soft…. like baby wash cloth soft. I also thought that I would have to use multiple pads to get my face clean…. I mean they come with 16 so I thought…. since I used 8 to 10 disposable cotton pads…. that I would have to use a minimum of 5 …. nope …. I only use 2 to 3 and that 3 one is just for piece of mind to make sure I got all of my makeup off, plus I use the 3rd one to clean any foundation out of my hair line that might have gotten in when I apply my makeup to my forehead. So let’s see some used facial pads …

The front and back of the 2 pads I used tonight. The first pad got all the makeup off my neck, ears, and face (including all eye makeup). The second one got the residual makeup off. I went in with a 3rd pad and there was nothing left on the pad when I wiped my face with it so I used it to get the foundation out of my hair….

Front and back of the 3rd pad that I used for my hair line.

These pads made it so easy to get my makeup off and I ended up having to use less Bioderma to remove my makeup and cleanse my face. These pads even get all of, and I mean all of, the eye lash glue that remained on my lashes when I removed my falsies.

Now, these pads are machine washable, as long as you use the delicate cycle and use a lingerie bag to place the used pads in. I also use Dreft baby detergent instead of regular clothes detergent since I am using this on my face I don’t want the harsh chemicals from my detergent to mix with the Bioderma and irritate my skin. This is what I did when I first got the pads in the mail. Now what I do is hand wash the 3 I use and at the end of the week I’ll pop them in the clothes basket and reach for a new set of 3 until I’ve used them all up and then I’ll deep clean them all using the Dreft and start all over again….It’s important to note that you can not use bleach on these bamboo pads… a bit of oxiclean may be used if you are looking to get them white in the washing machine. ALSO …. it’s important to note that if you are going to machine dry your bamboo pads you must keep them in the lingerie bag and that you have to use the lowest heat setting for your dryer.

So with all that foundation and mascara and lipstick and powders and face creams you might think … there’s no way these bad boys are going to be white with a hand washing…. WRONG …. take a look at this ….

the front and back of all 3 pads freshly hand washed.  The 2 black spots on the middle pad are just imperfections in the bamboo … these 3 pads are completely free of all makeup residue. I wash them the same way I wash my makeup sponges…. with Dove Pink Beauty Bar soap. I wash them in hot water and wring them out and then I lay them over my face care basket (the basket I use to store all my serums, creams, lip balm, and Bioderma. By the morning they are completely dry and ready for the next day.

I noticed tonight when I went to use the pads that the 1 I used this morning (I used the one side to remove my night creams and the other side to cleanse my face) was completely dry…. that means that it only takes about 5 hours for these pads to air dry.

These pads have been such a refreshing change of pace for me. I wont have to spend $300 a year in facial cotton pads which means my beauty budget has $300 more a year…. which means more fresh goodies to buy and review for my blog …. and I’m doing a small step to help the environment!! It’s a win/win in my book.

Well….. Thanks for stopping by dolls. I hope you have an amazing rest of your day/night!!

Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
