Soft Taupe Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! Thanks for stopping by…. hope you are having a great day/night. Today seems to be a really good Fibromyalgia day for me. Low pain/High energy and I finally got a full 8 hours sleep!! I had wanted to do something full glam but I had some errands to run today so I wasn’t able to sit down and do a full on beat face without running behind today…. so I decided just to do a cut crease using a soft taupe shade…. let’s jump into the Face of the Day ….. But first …. a quick mention about what scent I picked today…..

c700x420
Michael Kors Sexy Blossom is a limited edition scent featuring top notes of Lychee, Rose, and Dewy Leaves…. middle notes of Peony, Lily of the Valley, Freesia, and Pink Orchid… and base notes of Ambrox, Musk, and Sandalwood. This scent can still be purchased through several online fragrance shops and on Amazon ($47.58). This is one of my favorite scents, I have about 1/3 of the bottle left and already have a bottle in my Amazon cart for week 3 of beauty shopping this month. I have so many perfumes but I just can’t imagine not having this beautiful perfume in my collection. It’s such a luxurious scent.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer ($11.20 at Ulta). I color corrected just the very inner and outer areas of my under eyes and then blended it into the center using Believe Beauty Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer ($4 at Dollar General) in the shade Light/Medium…. *SIDE NOTE* I have hit pan on this corrector and will be repurchasing it when I have finished it up. For my foundation today I am using a combo of 1 dropper full of L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Booting Drops ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 507 Daybreak and 5 little pumps of ColourPop No Filter Foundation ($12 on their website) in the shade Medium 100. I concealed my under eyes using Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (discontinued but can still be found on amazon for prices as low as $25) in the shade Med/Light. I set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent and then warmed up the face using the bronzer shade from the Believe Beauty Get Glowing Highlight and Contour Palette ($5 at Dollar General) in the Light/Medium color way. Lately I’ve been digging a more fresh dewy finish to my face so I did not bake the high points of my face… and feel like I may not be baking for sometime as I am enjoying working with my illuminating drops that I mix in with my foundations.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and then set the lids using my Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent… *SIDE NOTE* I have also chosen this one as my touch up powder for the day. For today’s cut crease look I used the ColourPop Bare Necessities Palette ($34 on their website). For my transition and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid shade I used the color Complicated (warm rust brown with gold flecks sequin). For my crease shade I used the color Crack On (chestnut brown matte). I cut my crease using more of the NARS Soft Matte concealer and then applied the shade Prix Fixe (antique bronze metallic) and then I went back over the cut crease using the shade Silk Teddy (nude champagne metallic) to create a more taupe shade. I deepened the outer v using the shade Taboo (deep brown matte). For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Complicated (warm rust brown with gold flecks sequin) and then the more of the shade Crack On (chestnut brown matte) closer to the lash line. I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (a rose gold metallic). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and filled in the brows using the brow pencil from the Profusion Good Brow Day 2pc Kit ($8 on their website) in the color dark brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Full Exposé (creamy vanilla matte). I popped on a pair of the Profusion Cosmetics Iconic 3D Faux Mink Lashes ($7 for a 6 pack on their website) in the style Big Tease and coated both my upper and lower lashes with Profusion Lash Out Loud Mascara ($4 on their website) in black.

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For my blush and highlighter I used the Believe Beauty Get Glowing Highlight and Contour Palette ($5 at Dollar General) in the Light/Medium color way. The blush is a mid-toned coral matte and the highlighter is a pure gold champagne. I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and just above the high points my brows. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($7 on their website) in the shade Brink (a terracotta rose matte) and filled in my lips using Believe Beauty Satin Crush Lipstick ($4 at Dollar General) in the shade Moroccan Spice (a mid-toned terracotta nude).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I have really been loving the look that I get using a combo for my foundation routine. Illuminating Drops are so fun to play around with. I also have been loving the Too Face Ethereal Setting Powder so darn much, if you look closely at my pictures you can see the sparkle on my neck but in real life there isn’t this sparkle it just looks soft focus. I also wanted to reflect on a new setting spray I started using this week. I have been using the ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hydrating Setting Spray ($12 on their website). This isn’t the type of setting spray that locks your makeup in all day… it’s not meant to be… it’s just meant to take down some of the powder on your face to leave your makeup looking dewy and fresh. I just love the smell of this setting spray! It smells like the beach…. due to the coconut water that is in it. The nozzle on this spray is amazing, it is a super fine mister that truly doesn’t feel like you are spraying anything on your face. I don’t mind that it doesn’t lock my makeup in because, due to my Fibromyalgia, I’m a stay at home wife and care taker of my elderly mother so I don’t have to worry about my makeup lasting through a long work day. I typically use setting sprays just to bring down the powders some to melt into the foundation and this setting spray does an amazing job.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember … save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
