Soft Spring Inspired Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I slept into… didn’t get up until around 9:30 am and didn’t get started with my day till around 10:45 am…. I woke up incredibly stiff and had to wait for my Rheumatoid Arthritis to cooperate with me. I woke up to such pretty weather here in Florida so I got inspired to do a soft Spring inspired makeup look…. So let’s jump into it shall we?

My scent for the day is Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau De Perfum. I purchased this one at Sephora for $94. The notes of this perfume are: Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone, Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura, Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedar wood,  and Crystal Moss. This is a totally  sophisticated scent that lingers on the skin all day. This is my favorite Spring time scent and I have repurchased it 2 times.

Base: I primed my face using NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer ($11.20 at Ulta) and color corrected the inner and outer part of my under eyes using Believe Beauty Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer ($4 at Dollar General) in the shade Light/Medium. For foundation today I am wearing a combo of 2 dropper fulls of L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 507 Day Break and a squeeze of AOA Studio Perfect BB Cream ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) in the shade Medium….. upon application this looked extremely disco ball like …. 1 dropper of the glow drops would have been more than enough. I concealed my under eyes using Wet n Wild Photofocus Concealer ($4.49 at Ulta) in the shade 835 Fair Neutral. Because my face was so glittery I didn’t want to add more glow to the skin so I instead of using my new obsession (Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder) I used Catrice Cosmetics Primer and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent to set my full face and this is the powder I will be using for touch ups throughout the day. I noticed that my face still looked incredibly glittery so I also decided to powder my face with my Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent…. this seemed to help just a tad to tone down those glow drops ….. well, you live and you learn right? I warmed up my face using Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($15.99 at Ulta) in the shade bronzer.

Eyes: I primed my eyes using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using more of the Catrice Cosmetics Primer and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder. To create today’s eye look I used the Coastal Scents Revealed Rouge Palette ($20 on the Coastal Scents website). For my transition shade I used the color I’m Peachy (a warm light-rose matte). For my crease and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid shade I used a combo of the colors Perfection (a dusty peachy mauve matte) and  Crave (deep red matte). On the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Fairy Dusk (a rose gold metallic) followed by the shade Rock It (a reddish brown metallic) on the middle 1/3 to blend the lid shades together. I deepened just the very outer part of the outer v using more of the shade Crave (deep red matte). For my lower lash line I just buffed whatever was left on the brush that I used in my crease. To highlight my inner corners I used a combo of the shade Shiny (an icy vanilla metallic) and the highlighter I used on my face today Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.99 at Ulta) in the shade 10 Be My Light (a light peachy champagne). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and I filled in the brows using the brow pencil from the Profusion Good Brow Day 2pc Kit ($8 on their website) in the color dark brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Peach Party (a peachy cream vanilla matte). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (a rose gold metallic). I popped on a pair of the Profusion Cosmetics Iconic 3D Faux Mink Lashes ($7 for a 6 pack on their website) in the style Big Tease and coated both my upper and lower lashes with Profusion Lash Out Loud Mascara ($4 on their website) in black.

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Seduce (rosy nude). I highlighted just a tiny bit on my chin and then my Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and the high point of my brows using Essence Pure Nude Highlighter () in the shade 10 Be My Light (a light peachy champagne). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Heart On (bright cool-toned magenta matte) and then filled in my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the same shade Heart On (bright cool-toned magenta matte).

Final Thoughts: I had the worlds most difficult time with my makeup today. First I used too much of the glow drops in my bb cream, the glitter you see on my neck in the picture above is how my full faced looked before I double powdered today, and then I couldn’t get my left falsie to stay down on the inner corner and then I pocked myself in the eye with the mascara wand which cause me to get mascara all over the lower waterline. I know…. first world problems right? I really do love this eye look today though…. I don’t reach for this palette often but I have loved every single look I can turn out with it. My eyebrows even cooperated today …. this brow pencil is starting to grow on me. I’m still not sure how I feel about this concealer…. it just seems drying and chalky and just doesn’t wow me, it doesn’t even intrigue me, and it seems to create texture that just isn’t there…. I put a bit of this on the center of my forehead, between my brows to brighten it up and it just seemed to bunch up in that area and I really don’t have any texture to where this should be happening….. I’m going to try using it a few more times this month and if I just don’t like it then I will remove it from my collection. This bb cream continues to impress me every time I reach for it…. It gives a fresh faced natural look to the skin and it lasts all day. All in all I had a pretty good time with my makeup …. with a very few caveats… and I think I might try this palette and this foundation combo again tomorrow (except with just 1 drop of glow drops).

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are found in good spirits with low pain levels and high energy levels. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
