Pop of Blue Liner Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Mine isn’t going so well. I’m having a bad      Bi-Polar day. I feel extremely upside down today. I don’t have many days like this and really don’t know how to deal with them when they do pop up. I thought playing in makeup would help right my mood again, but everything that could go wrong with my makeup, did go wrong with my makeup. I truly hate this look and wanted so desperately to take it all off and start again, but was 2 pm by the time I finished and I didn’t have much energy left and it would have been pointless to start again only to finish and write my post and then turn around and take the makeup off because of how late it would have been….so I’m just rolling with this look, thank goodness I don’t have to go out in public with this look but , because I’m a firm believer in transparency and accountability I always post my Face of the Day despite having a bad makeup day.  I’m hoping that my depressive episode doesn’t last long… I really can’t handle these type of days and I really was looking forward to the weekend… I just hope that all my dolls out there are having a good spirited day/night. XOXO Well, let’s jump into this Face of the Day and Scent of the Day ….

Base: I primed the face using Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer ($45 at Ulta and Sephora). I color corrected the inner and outer parts of my under eyes using Believe Beauty Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer ($4 at Dollar General) in the shade Light/Medium. For foundation today I am using a combo of 1 dropper full of L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade Day Break and 4 pumps ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Moisturizer ($14 on their website) in the shade Medium 10 N. I concealed my under eyes using Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer ($22 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade No. 3 and set my full face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze.

Eyes: I primed the lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I have also chosen this powder as my touch powder for the day. To get this look I used the Coastal Scents Revealed Rouge Palette ($20 on their website). For my transition shade I used the color Perfection (a peachy mauve matte). For my crease shade I did a combo of the colors Amazing (a mid-toned terracotta tan matte) and Raspberry (a dusty mid-toned berry matte). I also took this color combo onto the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid. On the remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade Rock It (a reddish brown metallic). I then took the shade Night Rush (a reddish brown matte) and deepened the outer v and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid. I used whatever was left on the crease and outer v brushes and smudge them along my lower lash lines. I highlighted the inner corners first with the shade Fairy Dusk (a rose gold metallic) and then I layered the shade Shiny (an icy vanilla metallic) and then I added a bit of the Glow shade from the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Lights Palette ($42 at Ulta) to the very center of the highlighted corners. I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Whatchamacallit (a dusty denim). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then I filled in my brows using the brow pencil from the Profusion Good Brow Day 2pc Kit ($8 on their website) in the color dark brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Peach Party (a peachy cream vanilla matte).I popped on a pair of the Profusion Cosmetics Iconic 3D Faux Mink Lashes ($7 for a 6 pack on their website) in the style Big Tease and coated both my upper and lower lashes with Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade Blackest Black and then did a wing liner using Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($22 at Ulta) Intense Black.

Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Seduce (rosy nude). I highlighted just a tiny bit on my chin and then my Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and the high point of my brows using the Glow shade from the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Lights Palette ($42 at Ulta). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Dial Up (Vibrant hot pink) and then filled in my lips using the ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Westie (Soft cool-toned pink matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So anything that could go wrong, went wrong with this look today. I couldn’t get a sharp outline of my brows today. I can’t find the right balance of the glow drops and any of my bb cream style foundations…. so much glitter … even with 1 pump of the drops…. perhaps these drops are best with a heavier foundation over tinted moisturizers and creams. I got mascara everywhere on my lower lash line, and I only meant to use the liquid liner on my lash bands to bring down the glitter shine from the eye shadow… before you know it I had a full on Amy Winehouse style winged liner. So I took more of the shade

My scent of the day is Kate Spade Live Colorfully. I purchased mine at Ulta for $98 for 3.4 fluid ounces. The notes of this perfume are : Mandarin, Pink Water Lily, Star Anise, Golden Gardenia, Tiaré Flower, Coconut Water, Sheer Amber, Musk, and Tahitian Vanilla. This is a very lively scent. I truly love this one. Almost every time I have worn this one in public I get someone asking me what I’m wearing. The Amber and Musk and Lily are the prominent scent notes in this perfume making it a nice warm feminine scent.  This scent is out of stock on Sephora but can still be found at Macy’s and on the Kate Spade website.

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So anything that could go wrong, went wrong with this look today. I got mascara everywhere on my lower lash line, and I only meant to use the liquid liner on my lash bands to bring down the glitter shine from the eye shadow… before you know it I had a full on Amy Winehouse style winged liner. So I took more of the shade Rock It and packed it on top of the liner to slim the liner down some. This seemed to work OK, but up close you can still see a tiny bit of that liner showing through and last but by no means least, I didn’t realize that my lipstick clashed with this look until I sat down to do my blog post …. I do not have the energy or the mind set to remove the lipstick, touch up the foundation around my lip, repowder, add more setting spray, and then chose a new lipstick so I just kept it the way it is. I also just noticed that my bronzer and blush are causing the area around my cheeks look wide and heavy, there is nothing that I can do to fix that so I’ll roll with it…. I mean, it’s only makeup and you can always remove it and start again, but since I have little energy left rocking the mistakes is the route I decided to go with. Besides there is beauty in imperfect…. I firmly believe this.

Well, thanks for stopping by dolls, that’s all for now. I hope and pray that you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. I’m hoping to have a better day tomorrow, but until than remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
