Simple Look Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m still not 100% well yet, but I’m doing better than I have been. I slept in till 9:30 Am today. I still have a sore throat, runny nose, and a cough but my body is starting to feel better and I no longer have the shakes. I’m still feeling pretty weak and so I decided just to do a simple eye look today…. Let’s jump into today’s scent and Face of the Day ….

Juicy Couture Parfum. I purchased mine at Ulta for $96 for 3.4 Fluid Ounces. This is one of my husband’s favorite perfumes on me. The scent notes are:  watermelon, mandarin orange, passion fruit, green apple, green leaves, hyacinth, marigold lily, tuberose, rose hip, precious woods, patchouli, caramel, vanilla and crème brûlée. This is another really great everyday casual dress perfume. The scent stays around for about 6 to 8 hours of wear and is sweet but not over the top sweet. You can really pick up on the caramel in this scent. I love this one for just daily use but i have been known to wear it on date night too because hubby loves it so much.

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using I Heart Revolution Coconut Dream Hydrating Primer ($8 at Ulta). I also used a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around my nose and outer parts of my cheeks to blur my pores. My foundation today is a combo of 2 pumps of Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter ($45 at Sephora) in the shade Dew You? and 2 scoops of The Balm Even Steven Whipped Foundation ($22 on their website) in the shade Light/Medium. I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used just a touch of The Balm Time Balm Concealer ($18 on their website) in the shade Light/Medium.  I set my full face using  Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent and warmed up my face using Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($30 at Ulta). For touch up powder today I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Target) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used a few shades from The Balm Meet Matt(e) Adore and Meet Matt(e) Nude palettes (both palettes were limited edition and are now discontinued, however you can still find them on Amazon and Bridette’s Boutique . I started my eyes using the Adore palette…. For my first transition shade I used the shade Matt Munoz (a pastel coral peach matte). For my second transition shade I used the shade Matt Bernard (a light camel matte). For my crease shade I chose the shade Matt Jones (a mustard toned brown matte). I then switched to the Nude palette and deepened my crease and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid using the shade Matt Rosen (a mid toned chocolate brown with a slight red undertone matte). On the remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid I used  L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Eye Shadow ($9.99 on their website) in the shade 892 Amber Rush (rose gold with a copper shift). For my lower lash line I used more of the shade Matt Bernard (a light camel matte) and just swept it along the lower lash line not blowing it out too far. I then went in with more of the shade Matt Rosen (a mid toned chocolate brown with a slight red undertone matte) to deepen the lash line. I lined my lower waterlines using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil ($8 at Ulta and on their website) in the shade Beige. I highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (icy pink with silver flip).  I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using the shade Matt Malloy (pure white matte) from the Nude palette. I popped on a pair Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($12 for 5 pairs at Ulta) in the style Flirty and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I used the ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush ($8 on their website) in the shade Catch My Vibe (pale baby pink matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Cookie (a pale yellow champagne with a slight silver reflect). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (now only sold in their Lippie Pencil Vault on their website) in the shade On Ice ( deep sangria) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Ellarie (deep cranberry matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I just wanted to reach out and say I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time out of your days to read my blog. It means more to me than you will ever know. I’m just a nerdy girl with an obsession for makeup who just simply loves to share it with the world. I’m too self conscious to have my own YouTube channel… and at 43 I really don’t know that I would be able to make my way through YouTube… so I blog …. and you read it …. and that is such an amazing thing for me. Your kind words and just the very thought that you have taken time… valuable time… out of your day to just pop in and see what I have been up to means the world to me. So thank you very much and I hope that you will know that I am here for you if ever you just need a friendly ear to lean in.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you are in good health, in great spirits, and that you have a great rest of your day/night. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
