Last Minute Look Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your night/day going? Great I hope. I wasn’t feeling very well today so I had originally decided to take the day off from my daily Face of the Day post… I hurt a lot and I have very little energy today. I woke up from a nap around 6:30 and decided to at least attempt to play with my makeup…. even if I would be taking it off in a little while to go to bed for the night…. So this is the look I came up with …. it’s not my best job done but at least I was able to play for a little while … I forwent lashes today to give my lashes a brake from the lash glue …. I’m also not wearing any perfume today because when my pain levels are this high the pain is often accompanied by olfactory sensitivity  which causes my to throw up a lot… so let’s jump into this Face of the Day ….

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores (Discontinued). My foundation today is Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation ($50 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Beige. I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used 3 dots under each eye of Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer ($22 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade No. 3. I set my full face with Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. I’m not using a touch up powder since I am only keeping my makeup on for a few hours today.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette (normally $48 but on sale for $36 at Sephora). For my transition shade I used the color Samael (dusty fawn matte). For my outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the crease I used the shade Solas (espresso brown matte). I warmed up the first half of the crease using just a touch of Succubus (rich rust matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I first went in with the shade Lucius (soft beige matte) and then went back over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid with more of Succubus (rich rust matte) to give the look a bit more dimension. I then went in with the shade Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) from the Rachh Loves X Pixi The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) and patted that over top of the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid to add a bit more dimension to the all matte look. For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Samael (dusty fawn matte) and then went over the drop shadow using more of the shade Succubus (rich rust matte). I deepened the lower lash line using more of the shade Solas (espresso brown matte) and then highlighted the inner corners using the shade Clutch (soft white yellow gold) from the Rachh Loves X Pixi The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target). I tight lined the upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade The Classic (a deep matte brown). I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49 at Ulta) in the shade 05 Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte sides and set the brow line using the shade Liberatus (pinkish ivory matte). I  coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush tonight I chose NYX Sweet Cheeks Matte Blush ($7.50 at Ulta) in the shade Summer Breeze (Coral).  I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) in the shade Lace (a pink with gold flip). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Little One (light pinky nude) and topped off my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Dream Date (pale warm nude matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I had the worst time working with the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation today. I tried mixing glow drops in with it and quickly learned (3 times) that this foundation does not play well with mix ins. I finally got fed up and chose to use the foundation on it ‘s own with no glow drops added but even with that I still had a hard time getting it to stay in place around my nose and just bellow the nostrils. So I finally just placed extra concealer around those areas (I did this over my powder and so that is the texture you see bellow my nostrils … that’s not face hair or dark spots … it’s just texture.

I have a hard time every time I use this foundation … I’m going to try and use this foundation 1 more time … but if I still have this problem with it I will declutter it from my collection …. I love how light weight it is and it’s the perfect color for my skin tone, but it just doesn’t apply well … no matter what primer I use, moisturizer I use, powder I use … there is always some type of issue with this foundation …. which sucks because it’s a very expensive foundation …. but if it’s not working out for me …. there is no need for me to keep it in my collections anymore.

Well that’s it dolls …. Sorry I really didn’t have the energy to do a great makeup look …. But I wanted to show you that even when you are having a super bad Fibro day you can still push your self to do 1 thing just for yourself …. that it’s super important to do at least something that gives you joy …. for yourself … everyday, but especially on your bad days to keep your spirits going when your body wont cooperate. I hope you all have a great rest of your night/day and that you are all happy and healthy. Remember dolls … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
