Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up late today… had a hard time staying asleep last night.
Today I am wear Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume. Today I wanted a smokey look so this is what I came up with …. Let’s jump into this Face of the Day ….
Base: I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (). For foundation today I used a combo of 3 drops of NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (discontinued) in the shades Deep (a dark grey brown enhancer) and 5 drops of NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (discontinued) Warm (an orange based enhancer), 5 pumps of BECCA Backlight Priming Filter and 2 droppers of Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Natural Finish Foundation Drop ($6.65 on their website) in the shade Natural Ivory (this shade is just about 1/2 a shade too light for me, that’s why I used the mixers). I color corrected my under eyes using Joah Cosmetics Truly Yours Dark Circle Concealer ($8.50 on their website) in the shade Neutralizer. I concealed my under eyes using 2 dots of JCat Beauty Staysurance Water Sealed Zero Smudge Concealer ($7.99 at Ulta) in the shade Custard. I set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. For touch up powder today I am using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade transparent.
Eyes: I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Catrice Cosmetics Basic Bae Palette ($14.99 at Ulta). For my transition shade I used the color #Squad (light peach nude matte). For my crease I used the shade #MOTD (soft orange based brown matte). I deepened the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the outer v and just a bit into the crease using the shade #TBT (deep cool tone brown with a hint of grey matte). The remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade #NoFilter (an dull gold metallic). I then took the shade #MCM (a mid toned red based brown matte) and patted that over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the out and inner 1/3 together… I then took a bit of the shade #MAU (a dull bronze metallic) and patted that over the line between the inner and middle 1/3 to add a bit of dimension. For my lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade #MOTD and then used more of the shade #MCM to deepen the lash line. I took more of the shade #NoFilter and added that to the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line. I highlighted my inner corners using the shade #Twinning (a dull yellow gold metallic). I lined my lower water line using Joah Cosmetics Make Her Gel-ous Gel Eyeliner ($8.50 on their website and at CVS) in the shade Purple. I set my brows using the soap brow method and then filled in my brows using ELF Lock On Liner & Brow Cream ($4 on their website) in the shade Medium Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade #Basic (a creamy vanilla matte). I popped on a paid of Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($11.99 for a 2 pack at Ulta) in the style Flirty and then I coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).
Cheeks and Lips: For blush tonight I chose ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush ($8 on their website) in the shade Catch My Vibe (pale baby pink matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using the Rachh Loves & Pixi Beauty The Layers Highlighting Palette ($24 at Target) and using a combo of the shades Knit (a caramel rose gold with a golden flip) and the shade Clutch (soft white yellow gold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (this shade only sold in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault on their website) in the shade Oh Sis (smoked paprika) and topped off my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Goal Digger (warm rose matte).
Final Thoughts: Well I finally figured out how to mix this foundation to get a better match for me … the key was to use more of the warm shade and less of the deep shade… it’s still a bit off bit off but I finally figured out I need it to have a hint of olive in it so I ordered the Olive mixer by NYX off Amazon today …. I should have that next week.
In the meantime this foundation pairs beautifully with mix ins … especially with glow drops. I have found that I am loving this foundation more now that I am not pairing it with the Joah loose powder…. It’s skin like but matte … but not so matte that it comes off mask like.
Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you are healthy and in great spirits. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Wow, one of my favorite looks on you so far, alongside with the recent brown sugar look. Love it ❤️
