Chocolate Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I had a hard time staying asleep last night so I ended up sleeping in today. I’m in a world of pain today because it’s raining here in Florida. I woke up wanting to do a smokey eye look again and so this is what I came up with. Today’s scent is Lancome La Vie Est Belle. So let’s jump into this Face of the Day ….

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora). For foundation today I used a combo of 5 pumps of BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Sephora) and 2 full dollops of NYX Born to Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Nude. I color corrected using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used 2 dots of L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer ($13.49 at Ulta) in the shade 360 Cashmere. I set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. For touch up powder today I am using Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade transparent.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                           I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Catrice Cosmetics Basic Bae Palette ($14.99 at Ulta). I covered my full eye area (from lash to brow) using the shade #MCM  (a mid toned red based brown matte). For my full mobile lid I first laid down the shade #WCW (deep chocolate brown metallic) and then I layered that with the shade #MAU (a dull bronze metallic) and then I layered more of #WCW (deep chocolate brown metallic) over the top. I then took just a hint of #MOTD (soft orange based brown matte) and blended out the edge of my shadow at the brow bone to give a hint of definition. For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of #MOTD and deepening my lash line using more of the shade #MCM. I highlighted my inner corneres using the shade Twinning (a dull yellow gold metallic). I lined my lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade The Classic (a dusty deep brown).  I set my brows using the soap brow method and then filled in my brows using ELF Lock On Liner & Brow Cream ($4 on their website) in the shade Medium Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade #Basic (a creamy vanilla matte). I popped on a paid of Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($11.99 for a 2 pack at Ulta) in the style Flirty and then I coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                                For blush tonight I chose Milani Rose Powder Blush ($9.49 at Ulta) in the shade 08 Tea Rose (dusty mauve matte).  I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38 at Sephora ) in the shade Champagne Pop (soft gold with pinky-peach pearl). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Little One (light pinky nude) and topped off my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Cookie (warm brown nude matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                 The abrasion on my lip is still pretty sore. I’ve made a homemade lip salve that I got from the tree huggers website. This has helped the abrasion heal a bit. I wear it at night and in the day I alternate between Neosporin and O’keeffe’s Cooling Lip Repair. This combo seems to be helping a lot.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Have a safe and healthy rest of your day/night. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
