Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night. I got up around 9:30 AM. I slept in because I was up most of the night with charlie horses in both legs. When you have Fibromyalgia you will experience muscle tightness and spasms at night time… there’s nothing you can do for it… you just have to sort of ride the pain until it passes. So around 2:30 AM I was awoken by intense pain and spasms. My legs are still pretty tender today so I’ve taken the day off from doing any more masks because I can’t sit up long before my legs start to tighten up again… So needless to say because of this I have decided to just do a very quick and simple look again today …
Today I am wearing Liz Claiborne Realities perfume. Well … let’s get into today’s Face of the Day ….
Base: Today I primed my face using Benefit The Porefessional Hydrating Primer ($32 at Ulta and Sephora) and Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Sephora) around my pores. For foundation today I am wearing Joah Beauty Truly Yours Natural Finish Foundation Drops ($9.50) in the shade Natural Ivory. This shade is way too light for me so I mixed in NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (discontinued but can be found on Amazon for $15) in the shades Deep (I used 2 drops), Olive (I used 4 drops), and Warm (I used 3 drops). I color corrected using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. I concealed my under eyes using Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 005 Light Neutral. I set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. For touch up powder today I am using Milani Conceal + Perfect Shine Proof Powder ($10.99 at Walgreens) in the shade 02 Nude.
Eyes: I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Whatever Palette ($18 on their website). I started by using the shade Copy Cat (dusty peach matte) for the crease (from crease socket to brow bone). For the full mobile lid I used the shade Tardy (soft golden champagne super shock shadow). I lightly dusted more of the shade Copy Cat on my lower lash line and then used a tad more of Tardy on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line to add a bit more dimension. highlighted my inner corners using Urban Decay Single Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (a pink champagne with silver reflect metallic). I lined my lower and upper waterlines using Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen ($12 at Ulta) in the shade Black Caviar (a deep brown). I set my brows using the soap brow method and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (iced white). I created baby wings on my upper lids using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($21 at Sephora) in the shade Mad Max Brown. I coated my upper and lower lashes with ColourPop BFF Mascara ($8 on their website and at Ulta) in the color Black on Black.
Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I am wearing Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta) in the shade B-day Bae (light pinky nude matte). I highlighted my the tops of the cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, center of the chin, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using the J Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter ($8.99 at Ulta) in the shade YGG 102 Twilight (a golden pearl). I lined my lips with NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Whipped Caviar (a neutral grey toned pink) and filled in my lips using Tarte Sea Color Splash Lipstick ($21 at Sephora) in the shade Sun Kissed (a pink peach creme).
Final Thoughts: So I used the skin care products I hauled yesterday. I know it takes 60 days to see any real improvements when you start a new skin care item … but I can honestly say my skin this morning was so supple and I had the most amazing glow to my skin this morning. I also noticed that my foundation went on so smooth and radiant and has lasted so well, even with me using my face mask at the Dollar General (it’s really hot here in Florida so I was a bit sweaty under that mask) my makeup has stayed on all day and I haven’t even had to touch up my makeup all day , save for a bit more lipstick.
I started using the Laroche Posay face sunscreen today. I never really used sunscreen because I thought, why bother … do to my illness I’m always home anyway … then I saw a video by a skin care guru named Cyrille Laurent. (He’s this french stem cell biology researcher who has a great understanding about how skin care ingredients work with the skin’s biological makeup. He has tons of super good videos and since watching him I have really stepped up my skin care game… he has this way of explaining how skin care works and what skin care mixes well with others) and he said something that made a lot of sense… even when you are in side and out of the sun … there is still sun rays that penetrate the windows… so sunscreen even when you are home is still a good idea.
Well that’s all dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are happy and healthy.
Remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Love the shimmery eye make up! I have serious back pain and sometimes it hurts all my muscles at night so I know what you mean. Sorry to hear you deal with that.
