Red Smokey Face of the Day and New Hair Color Reveal

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up at a decent time but had a world of trouble with my makeup today I literally just finished my makeup at 5:30 PM and it’s now 5:49 PM. I really don’t like the final outcome of my makeup but I was not willing to redo it again … I’ve done my makeup now 5 times and I’m in a heap of pain… it’s raining here in Florida today and that always exacerbates my fibromyalgia. Also… I finally colored my hair last night … ready to see the results?? …. here we go ….

The shade came out darker than I had intended but I truly love the final shade. My hair always gives me trouble for the first couple of days after I’ve colored it… the curls get really fluffy and so my hair looks a bit messy but in a few days the curls will be back to normal again.

Today I am wearing Marc Jacob’s Daisy Twinkle perfume. Well… Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …..

Base:                                                                                                                                                Today I primed my face using Benefit The Porefessional Hydrating Primer ($32 at Ulta and Sephora). For my foundation today I am wearing Revolution Beauty Conceal and Hydrate Radiance Foundation ($12 at Ulta) in the shade F 5.7. I concealed my under eyes using ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer ($6 at Ulta) in the shade Light Sand. I set my full face using Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola. For touch up powder today I am using Milani Conceal + Perfect Shine Proof Powder ($10.99 at Walgreens) in the shade 02 Nude.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop All That Palette ($18 on their website). I started out by using the shade Cha Cha (mid-tone warm pink matte) all over the lids (from lash to brow). I depended the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using the shade Silhouette (muted burgundy matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Fishnets ( warm rose with silver reflect metallic) and then went back over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid using the shade Infatuation (bright scarlet metallic). For the lower lash line I first used more of the shade Cha Cha and then went in with more of the shade Silhouette to deepen the look up some. I highlighted my inner corners using the shade Risque (icy pink with silver shift metallic).  I lined my lower and upper waterlines using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil (reg $8 but on sale for $6 on their website) in the shade Black and then created a wing on the upper lash line using Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Intense Black. I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using NYX Eyebrow Powder Pencil ($6.50 at Ulta) in the shade Taupe . I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using the shade Uncuffed (pale baby pink matte). I coated my upper and lower lashes with Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For blush today I am wearing Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta) in the shade Captivating (bright peach matte). I highlighted my the tops of the cheeks, Cupid’s Bow, center of the chin, bridge of the nose, and high points of the brows using the J Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter ($8.99 at Ulta) in the shade YGG 102 Twilight (a golden pearl). I lined my lips with ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($7 on their website) in the shade Ellarie (blackened cranberry) and filled in the lips with Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34 at Sephora) in the shade Glastonberry (muted purple berry matte).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So today’s makeup play was a huge debacle!! The first time I attempted to use the glitter shade in this palette and ended up with glitter everywhere … so I took off the makeup and attempted to my makeup again. The second attempt my foundation kept pilling up and sliding off in areas … I figured I just hadn’t let all my skin care sink in long enough … so I  took it all off and started a 3rd time … after leaving my skin care to sink in for 15 minutes … I attempted my makeup for the 4th time and my foundation did it again … So I finally figured it was either the fact that the foundation I was using (Urban Decay One and Done) wasn’t playing well with the primer I was using (Benefit The Porefessional Hydrating Primer ) or that since the foundation is discontinued it might have expired ….  so not taking any chances I decluttered the foundation from my collection and washed off my makeup for the final time … everything finally came together, though in person the area around my upper lip and nose area look a bit cakey and patchy … I was not redoing my makeup for a 6th time so I’m just riding with it the way it is.

The color I thought my hair would be is this right here … but It came out much darker than this … I don’t mind really because I use to dye my hair black so this is black’s younger sister deep brown … it’s like a black with loads of dimension. I think I like it much more than I would have had it turned out the color in the swatch.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health. Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a little lipstick.

XOXO
