Soft Neutral Face of the Day and Product Review

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up around 9 AM. Slept in to try and help my body heal a bit from market day. I’m hurting still but not as bad as I was yesterday as I am grateful.

For dinner tonight I am making my hubby’s favorite meal… Whole Italian roasted young chicken on a bed of potato medallions and corn on the cob and homemade lemon-aid.

I finally got my last order from Ulta … I’ll be posting a quick beauty haul next.

For today I am wearing YSL Parisian perfume. I will be reviewing a new foundation and lipstick in my Final Thoughts.

My hair isn’t cooperating with me today … I think it’s time for another Olaplex treatment… so please forgive how 80’s puffy my hair looks today …. So, let’s jump into today’s Soft Neutral Face of the Day…

Base:                                                                                                                                                           I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora) and just a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around the pores of my cheek area. I used Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade #3 Light/Medium to give my skin that lit from within glow. For foundation today I am using Il Makiage Woke Up Like This Flawless Base Foundation ($44 on their website) in the shade 040. I concealed my under eyes using 5 of the tiniest dots of Tarte Creaseless Concealer ($26 at Ulta) in the shade 20N Light. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Dark. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Glodgasm. I then set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer ($34 at Ulta). I am using Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder ($4 at Walmart) in the shade 011 creamy natural as my touch up powder today.

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I started with my brows. I’ve been doing this a lot lately and I think it works out the best … I don’t have to touch up my foundation or my eyes doing it this way… and I also haven’t been using my brow highlighter as much … which I miss but this seems to be the routine that has been working out best for me.  I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and I also used a little of this to cut my brow line. For today’s eye look I used the BH Cosmetics Ultimate Matte 42 Color Shadow Palette (regularly $28 but on sale for $21 on their website). I started by using the 4th shade of the 4th row (a soft camel brown matte) from lash line to brow bone. I then went in with the 4th shade of the 2nd row (a mid-toned orange based tan matte) on the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and in the outer v of the crease. I highlighted my brow line using 1st shade of the 1st row (a creamy vanilla matte). I then used a little dab of NYX Glitter Primer ($6.50 at Ulta) on the remaining 2/3 of my mobile lid and then patted L’Oreal 24-HR Infallible Eye Shadow ($9.49 at CVS) in the shade 892 Amber Rush (a mid-toned rose gold metallic). I then went back into the mid-toned orange based tan and smudged that on my lower lash line. I highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honey Dew (an icy pink with a slight silver flip).  I lined the lower waterlines using L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner ($4.49 at Ulta) in the shade Nude (a creamy flesh tone). I then coated my upper and lower lashes with 2 coats of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                            Once again I opted not to use a powder highlighter. I really have been enjoying this lit from within, skin like glow that I am getting from the Charlotte Tibury Beauty Light Wand. For blush today I am wearing Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta) in the shade Captivating (bright peach matte). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude). I then topped my lips off with L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 448 I-Tease (a soft taupey pink matte).

Final Thoughts:

20200424_145904
Il Makiage Woke Up Like This Flawless Base Foundation: Grade A+++!!!: This foundation is the first foundation to match my skin tone spot on … where it melts into the skin and you can’t tell I am wearing any foundation! They have a shade finder quiz that you take and it matches your skin tone spot on. This foundation is light weight and I would say medium coverage but you can build it up slightly. It dries down almost all the way so a light layer of setting powder is needed, but this is a healthy, demi-matte, seamless foundation. I am so happy with this purchase. I still have 12 days to try it out to see if I like it before I buy it, but I don’t need the extra time. I can already tell that I am in love with this foundation and most definitely will be repurchasing this one when I run out.

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain in the shade I-Tease: Grade A+++!!!: I so love the formula of this liquid matte stain. It’s light weight, non drying, and has a soft wash of color. I do notice that it’s not the longest wearing formula but when you reapply it doesn’t go cakey or crumbly. This is a very effortless lipstick. I am so glad I purchase multiple shades and I-Tease is the perfect nude shade.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health. Remember dolls … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
