“No Makeup” Makeup Look Face of the Day and Mini Product Review

Published April 25, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up around 8:30 AM but was in a world of pain for I decided that I would just do a “No Makeup” makeup look since it doesn’t take me long to do and it’s simple and I really need to rest my body so I don’t end up hurting worse. I also didn’t sleep very well so the lines under my eyes are very pronounced today … nothing I could do about that, well I could have done a Collagen eye mask treatment but I just don’t have the energy for the extra step today.

I will also be reviewing 2 new products in today’s Final Thoughts….

Today I’m wearing Versace Red Jeans perfume. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day.

20200425_123853

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora) and just a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around the pores of my cheek area. I used the slightest amount of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade #3 Light/Medium to give my skin that lit from within glow. For foundation today I am using Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator ($29 at Ulta) in the shade 20N Light Neutral. I took this up under my eyes as well since it’s such a light weight product. I chose not to contour today since the base is so light weight I thought it might be too heavy to contour. I highlighted the high points of my face using  Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($39 on the Beautylish website). I then lightly concealed my under eyes using 5 of the tiniest dots of Tarte Creaseless Concealer ($26 at Ulta) in the shade 20N Light. I then set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer ($34 at Ulta). I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade L4-M1 Beige as my setting powder.

20200425_123953

Eyes: Today                                                                                                                                             I started with my brows.  I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and I also used a little of this to cut my brow line. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Bare Necessities Palette ($34 on their website). I took a combo of the shades On Holiday (soft beige matte) and Hustler (light peach matte) and used it all through my crease up to almost touching the brow bone. I then took the shade Full Expose (creamy vanilla matte) and used that on my brow bone. For my mobile lid I used a combo of the shades Idol Hour (warm ivory with a pale peach sheen metallic) and Rumored (silvery taupe metallic). For the lower lash line I first used the shade Complicated (warm rust brown with gold pinpoints sequin shadow) and then I went back over it with more of the shade On Holiday to mute the intensity. I highlighted my inner corners using Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Fairy Tale (icy white metallic). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta). I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown).

20200425_123939

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                            Once again I opted not to use a powder highlighter. I really have been enjoying this lit from within, skin like glow that I am getting from the Charlotte Tibury Beauty Light Wand. For blush today I am wearing Burt’s Bees Blush ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade Bare Peach (a nude peach satin). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude). I then topped my lips off with Il Makiage INFINITY LONG-WEAR MATTE LIP CREAM ($22 on their website) in the shade Gala (a dusty pink coral matte).

20200425_123917

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I think this look would have been a bit better if I would have not done the eye liner and maybe not have done the mascara on the bottom lashes. To me it’s looking very bottom heavy. I may have to test that theory out tomorrow if I wake up not feeling good. I do have other products to try so I hope to be feeling well enough to do a more substantial look.

Now on to the product review….

20200423_160832

Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator: Grade A+++!!!:                                                                                    This tinted moisturizer is so amazing! I finally found one that I like!! I liked it so much that placed another tube of it in my cart for next months beauty buys! It’s very light weight and also light coverage. It gives just enough coverage to even out the skin but your skin still shows through. There is no scent and it’s not too greasy (even with the Maracuja oil in it). It wears well throughout the day (it’s been 5 hours since I put it on and I have not had to touch up my face at all). It’s the perfect shade as well. I used my fingers to apply it, like a moisturizer. I can tell this is not the type of product you can apply with a sponge or a brush… you really do need to get in there and apply it with your fingers. I hope this is one that Tarte keeps around for a long time. I can already tell it will be a definite repurchase for me.

20200423_152259

Tarte Creaseless Concealer: Graded A+++:                                                                                               This is an incredible concealer. Light weight and very skin like. It does need to be set with a powder, however I used only the slightest amount of powder and normally when I do that I still get creasing and I didn’t get creasing with this one). I think this maybe my new favorite concealer. It’s got great pigment and I didn’t use a color corrector or glow drops under my eyes and this concealer did a great job at brightening my under eyes.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Copper Smokey Eye Face of the Day and Mini Product Review

Published April 24, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. It’s raining here so naturally I am in a heap of pain. I got up at a pretty decent time (around 8 AM) but now it’s 4:17 PM and I feel exhausted… I really hate Fibromyalgia.

I will be doing product reviews in my Final Thoughts today.

Today I am wearing Bath and Body Works Rose Champagne (notes are Clementine, Bergamot, Apple Blossom, Pink Pepper, and Blonde Woods).

Now let’s jump into this Face of the Day ….

20200424_145544

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora) and just a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around the pores of my cheek area. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade #3 Light/Medium to give my skin that lit from within glow. For foundation today I am using DermaBlend Flawless Creator Liquid Foundation Drops ($40 at Ulta) in the shade 30 N (light skin with neutral undertones).  I first tried this with the MAC Strobe Cream ($35 at Ulta) in the shade Goldlite (golden pearls) mixed in (3 drops of the foundation and 3 squirts of the strobe cream) and that just diluted the pigment in the foundation so I added another light layer of just the foundation over top of that. I took the Hollywood Flawless Filter up under my under eyes so I chose not to use a color corrector today instead I just used 2 dots of the DermaBlend Cover Care Full Coverage Concealer ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 15N Fair/Light. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website) in the shade 2 Medium/Dark… I used it around the perimeter of my forehead, hollows of the cheeks, and the bridge of my nose. I then highlighted the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, and high points above my brows using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($39 on the Beautylish website). I then set my full face using Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 only at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent. I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade L4-M1 Beige as my setting powder.I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer ($34 at Ulta).

20200424_145608

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Bare Necessities Palette ($34 on their website). I started with the shade Tabloid (deep caramel matte) from lash to brow bone. I then put a light layer of NYX Glitter Primer ($6.50 at Ulta) all over my mobile lids and then patted the shade Fuzzy (true red copper metallic) over the top of the primer. I then went into the shade Hot Gossip (toasted nude matte) and buffed that at the top of my eye lids in the transition area to lighten and buff out the shade Tabloid. I then deepened the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using the shade Taboo (deep brown matte). I then went into more of the shade Tabloid and buffed away any harsh edges of Taboo. I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Full Expose (creamy vanilla matte). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta) and popped on a pair of Kiss Natural Effect Lashes ($11.99 at Ulta for a pack of 5) in the style Flirty. I highlighted my inner corners using the shade Idol Hour (warm ivory with a pale peach sheen metallic).

20200424_145648

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                            Since I did the cream highlighter and was really loving the effect of it I chose not to use powder highlighter today. For blush today I chose ELF Primer Infused Blush ($6 on their website) in the shade Always Punchy (a pink coral matte).

20200424_145628

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I forgot to mention yesterday that I have hit pan on a few of my makeup products this month!! It’s both very exciting and very sad to hit pan on loved makeup products. I hit pan on  #1. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder ($45 at Sephora) #2. The color Soothe Matte in the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette ($48 on her website) #3. Benefit Mini Hoola Bronzer ($17 at Ulta and Sephora) and #4 Believe Beauty Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer ($4 only at Dollar General).

I’m hurting so bad today. It’s supposed to rain until Sunday so tomorrow I may just be doing another “no makeup” makeup look… just so that I can look put together without taking too much time sitting up… the longer I’m sitting straight the more pain I’m in so minimizing that would be best.

Now… Let’s get into the review of the new products I used today….

20200423_152548

DermaBlend Flawless Creator Liquid Foundation Drops: Graded A++ : The formula is beautiful and the shade is perfect. The reason that I didn’t grade this an A+++ is that it is a bit temperamental when paired with a glow drop formula. I noticed that when I added this to my MAC Strobe Cream it kind of went streaky in some areas and cakey in other areas. However, when I used it alone over top of what I already had on it went on smoothly and was actually very  pretty. I am going to try this one again but instead of mixing it with a glow drop I will just mix it in with my primer. It’s too early to tell if I would repurchase it but so far I like it.

20200423_151536

MAC Strobe Cream: Graded B+:  This glow cream is pretty, it just doesn’t pack the punch that something like the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter or BECCA Backlight Priming Filter does. I noticed straight away that this is not the type of glow product that can be mixed into a foundation… it’s more of a product to use under foundation. I’ll have to play around with it more to see just how best to use it … and I do not see me purchasing a full size or even another mini.

20200423_152126

DermaBlend Cover Care Full Coverage Concealer: C-: This concealer is so thick. Even with 2 small dots it still was thick and settled into my fine lines, even after I powdered it. This concealer looked pretty before I set it with powder… very hydrated looking… but after I lightly (and I mean lightly) powdered the under eye area it just looked horrible. It was creepy, cakey, and dusty dry. It also still settled into the fine lines and I had to buff it back out and add more powder which just exacerbated the situation. The reason I didn’t grade it lower is throughout the day this concealer actually looked better. (more hydrated and less creppy). I’ll try and use this one a few more times but I really feel that I may be returning this one if I can’t get it to work.

Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer: Grade A- : This is a pretty bronzer. It pulls just a tiny bit orange on me so I have to be careful not to go over board. It has a pretty sheen to it that looks like a natural glow to the skin and less like I’m wearing a shiny bronzer. I’ll have to try this one out on a “no makeup” makeup day and see how it does on it’s own with no contour underneath it. I will definitely be reaching for this one again. It’s such a big pan that I don’t see me needing to repurchase it anytime soon.

20200423_151009

NYX Glitter Primer: Grade A+++: This primer is the real deal!! I mean wow!! I use to use the Too Face Glitter Glue and that didn’t work as good as this one does. I used the thinnest of layers and it still packed a punch. Normally ColourPop metallics are pigmented when you apply it with a finger on just a bare lid but when applied over top of the primer it was as if I wet the shadow before laying it down and I only needed 1 layer instead of a few layers to reach ultimate opacity. I also noticed that ,without this primer, if I touch my lid the metallic shade transfers but, with the primer, when I touched my lid today there was no transfer of the metallic shade. It held fast and has not faded. I am super impressed and can already tell I will be repurchasing this product again in the future.

20200424_145820

Il Makiage INFINITY LONG-WEAR MATTE LIP CREAM: Grade A+++: This is such a beautiful product! It’s comfortable, it’s lightweight, and it doesn’t get crusty. It feels like a satin on the lips. I also noticed that with most liquid matte products that it tends to pill up around the center of the lid area on me… this one hasn’t and I have not had to reapply it in the past 4 hours and I have eaten greasy food and had a coffee and a pop and still my lipstick is in place. This one is only a mini, but I have already added this to my shopping list for next month’s beauty buys. I want a few shades because this is such an amazing formula.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in the best of health and spirits. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

3rd Beauty Haul of April 2020 and Swatches

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I just got my Il Makiage order in the mail so I just wanted to share this very small haul with you … And away we go….

20200424_145820

INFINITY
LONG-WEAR MATTE LIP CREAM  $22 for .18 fluid ounces of product on the Il Makiage website. I was gifted this mini of the shade Gala (a dusty coral pink matte). This lipstick is billed as having vibrant, high-impact pigments with an innovative formula that ensures opaque, all-day matte coverage that won’t fade, crack or smudge. It claims to be a non-drying, not-sticky, comfortable formula that’s full coverage and transfer-proof. This product is made in Italy. It comes in 27 shades.

The picture on the left is with not flash and the one on the right is with flash. This lippie is amazing! It’s transfer proof, dries down to what feels like a satin, however it does not budge. The formula reminds me of the L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stains but the Il Makiage one has a better lasting power. I enjoyed this so much I have put it on my list for next month’s beauty purchases… I want a few shades.

20200424_145904

WOKE UP LIKE THIS FLAWLESS BASE FOUNDATION $44 for 1 fluid ounce of product on theIl Makiage website. It comes in 50 shades with 20 shades for deeper skin tones. It’s billed as being  a powerful, streak-free foundation that smoothes and evens the skin with an advanced, innovative formula for a flawless, uniform natural matte finish. It claims to be a buildable medium-to-high coverage enriched with: Vitamin E for anti-aging benefits Hyaluronic acid for hydration, protection and filling wrinkles. It claims to have special optically corrective powders blur fine lines, redness, and blemishes while light-diffusing spheres deflect attention away from all imperfections with a streak-free in application and lightweight in feel for comfortable wear.

I purchased this off a video ad I saw on TikTok because they offer a 14 day trial period before you by… You only pay for the shipping… You try it out for the 14 days (which starts the day it’s delivered) and if it doesn’t turn out to be the correct shade, doesn’t perform the way you like, or for what ever the reason you can return the foundation free of charge and they will even pay for the shipping. So I decided to give it a shot since they boast that they can perfectly match your skin … I have to say I am extremely impressed. It matches me very very VERY well.

20200424_145922

The instructions say to use 2 drops for the full face … The formula is medium thick with high pigment and great spreadability.

The picture on the right is with no flash and the picture on the right is with flash. I would call this a demi-matte formula. I truly think just this one pump could cover 1/2 my face.

I will test it out tomorrow and give my review then.

Well… That’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night. Remember ….. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

2nd Beauty Haul of April 2020 With Swatches

Published April 23, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

20200423_161010

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m coming at ya with my 2nd haul of the month…. This one is from Ulta Beauty (as you could probably tell from the picture). This one’s a bit long so let’s jump into it…

20200423_145953

Kiss Natural Effect Lashes in the style Flirty $11.99 at Ulta.  These lashes are light weight and the perfect size for my eye shape. They have quickly become my favorite lash when i am doing a more glam look.

20200423_150010

Kiss Natural Effect Lashes in the style Shy $11.99 at Ulta. Again these lashes are light weight and the perfect size for my eye shape. These lashes are my all time favorite natural lash look.

20200423_150112

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil $24 at Ulta. This pencil comes in 12 shades. I have it in the shade 4.5 (natural deep brown). It has an ultra-fine point and is the perfect consistency for the brows. It never tugs at my hairs and it never skips. I purchased 2 so that I would have a back up on hand. This is my all time favorite brow pencil.

20200423_150128

Urban Decay Brow Beater Brow Pencil $21 at Ulta. This pencil comes in 7 shades. I have it in the shade Neutral Nana (neutral brown) The package says it’s waterproof, however when I was wiping off the swatch for this pencil it came off super easy with just a baby wipe. This pencil has a tear-drop shaped tip. When I swatched it, it was extremely  hard to get a swatch, very dry and waxy and it tugged at the back of my hand.  It was so hard to swatch that I am almost afraid to try it in my brows for fear that it will pull hair out.  I also realized that this was not the pencil I meant to purchase… I wanted to try out the new Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain pen… oh well … I’ll have to add that one to next month’s beauty purchases.

20200423_161226

NYX Micro Brow Pencil $10 at Ulta but on sale for $7 so I purchased 2.  This pencil comes in 8 shades. I have it in the shade Espresso. This pencil has a fine point and glides through the brows like a dream. This use to be my all time favorite brow pencil until I tried the Benefit one.

20200423_150456

Duo Brush-On Adhesive With Vitamins $6.49 for .18 fluid ounce of product at Ulta. I purchased 2 back ups … I have 1 open and another back up but this was on sale for $3 something so I purchased 2 more. This is a latex free formula. It’s got all day hold and comes off very easy.  Just a bit of warm water is all it takes. This is the only lash glue I have ever used ever since I first tried it and it’s the only lash glue I will ever use. It’s just that good.

20200423_151009

NYX Glitter Primer $6.50 at Ulta but is on sale for $4.55 so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s billed as being  formulated to lock glitter and foil into place and is a light and creamy formula sets and then holds on tight. It is a creamy vanilla color when you first squeeze some out but it goes clear when it’s ready for the glitter and pressed pigments. This stuff is #1 super sticky and #2 a little goes a very long way. I squeezed out just a pea sized dot and that covered most of the back of my hand. It also holds on to glitter pretty darn well. I swatched and tested it out and this stuff is the real deal for glitter.

I loaded my finger up with glitter from the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette and just simply pressed it over the glitter primer and, as you can see from the picture on the right, almost every last piece of glitter is gone from my finger. When I went to removed the swatch I had to use soap and water… I could not remove it with simply a baby wipe.

20200423_150545

Revolution Skincare x Jake-Jamie Avocado Face Mask $11 at Ulta. This mask is billed as being designed to nourish, smooth, and gently exfoliate the skin. Formulated with avocado oil to moisturize, glycerin to prevent moisture loss, shea butter to nourish, and natural scrub granules to gently exfoliate.  The directions are so simple … apply 1-2 times a week. Allow to work for 10 – 15 minutes. Massage into skin for 30 seconds then rinse well. There is a warning that says to avoid the eye area.

20200423_161509

This mask smells just like a freshly cut avocado! It even has little chunks of avocado in it. It felt light weight and no as sticky as I thought it would feel. I can’t wait to try this one out tonight.

20200423_150711

Revolution Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask $11 at Ulta. It’s billed as being  formulated with sweet almond oil to encourage smooth and soft skin and vitamin E to moisturize. The directions say to apply to cleansed skin to soak in overnight, avoiding the eye area. Cleanse any residue or massage in upon waking. Use 1-2 times a week. This one also says avoid eye area.

20200423_161525

This one is super thick and sticky. I will not be using it as a night mask as the directions state. I will use this one as a day time lazy day, laying on the sofa binge watching some Netflix mask.

20200423_151313

L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara $8.99 at Ulta. This is my all time favorite mascara. I just opened a tube and I only had 1 backup so I ordered another one to make sure I wont run out. This mascara is billed as having a unique formula of panthenol and ceramide-R that builds and thickens voluptuous lashes while conditioning them, so they remain supple and healthy. This mascara is amazing, never clumps, never flakes, and never gives me spider lashes.

20200423_151536

Mini MAC Strobe Cream $16 at Ulta. The full sized is $35 for 1.07 fluid ounces at Ulta and comes in 3 shades. In the mini it only comes in the shade Goldlite (golden pearls). This is billed as being super-powered with potent botanicals, it boosts the look of dull, flat, or tired-looking skin with nutritious vitamins and a mega-dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Adds the softest glow to skin in sunlight to spotlight.

20200423_161909

It comes out of the tube white and feels like a gel. I’m a bit disappointed in this one. It’s extremely subtle. Barely any glow at all. I’ll have to play around with it and figure out how best to use it.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash.

Tarte Limited Edition Park Ave Princess Waterproof Face & Body Bronzer $34 for .55 ounces of product at Ulta. It’s billed as a long-wearing, waterproof formula delivers a universally flattering, instant bronze for your face & body. It’s a super silky, lightweight powder instantly evens skin tone & delivers a natural-looking bronze wherever applied. Covers & blurs the look of imperfections while giving a more-toned appearance. Amazonian clay for better, longer, truer wear. I’ve always wanted to own this bronzer and thought I’d give it a go since I’m already almost done my Benefit Hoola and will have a space for another bronzer soon.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is with no flash.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. I didn’t know this bronzer was a glowy bronzer … I’m starting to fall in love with the glowy dewy look so I am excited to try this one out.

NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner $4.00 for .03 ounces of product at Ulta. This is my all time favorite lip liner color. I have 1 back up and 1 open almost done so I purchased 2 more back ups.

20200423_152037

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain in the shade I Create (soft nude rose). $5.99 for .23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. This lippie is billed as providing the color impact of a liquid lipstick with a weightless, bare-lip sensation. This formula is HEAVEN! I love this product so much, I owned 2 other shades before this one and decided when I placed my order to pick up 3 more shades.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash.

20200423_151849

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain in the shade I Empower (soft nude peach). $5.99 for .23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain in the shade I Tease (soft taupey pink). $5.99 for .23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash.

DermaBlend Cover Care Full Coverage Concealer $28 for .33 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. This concealer comes in 16 shades with 5 shades for deeper skin tones and I purchased the shade 15N Fair/Light. This is a full coverage concealer … a super full coverage concealer and a very little goes a very long way. It’s thick and remains tacky to the touch so you would do best with setting this one as soon as you blend it in.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is the swatch with a very thin pea sized layer. I could have covered the whole hand and still have some left over. I’m looking forward to trying this one out.

Tarte Creaseless Undereye Concealer $26 for .23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta. It comes in 30 shades, 13 shades for deeper skin and I purchased the shade 20 N Light. This product is billed as being able to cover dark circles, hyper-pigmentation & redness with a waterproof formula doesn’t crease or sit in fine lines and powered by vitamin C-rich maracuja for firmer, brighter & smoother-looking skin. This one felt a but sticky at first but blended out to be soft and hydrating on the back of my hand.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is another concealer that where a little bit goes a long way. I’m not sure about the creaseless claim… I did see it seep into the fine lines of the back of my hand … I’ll have to keep you posted.

NYX Born to Glow Radiant Concealer $9 for .14 fluid ounces at Ulta. It comes in 24 shades with 10 for deeper skin and I chose the shade Fair. It’s billed as being a micro pearl-infused illuminating concealer that blurs imperfections adding instant radiance and brightening the appearance of a dull complexion and as being formulated to perfectly match their Born to Glow Foundation.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. This one isn’t as tacky or thick as the last few in this post but it is high pigment so you wont need much to correct the undereye.

DermaBlend Flawless Creator Liquid Foundation Drops $40 for 1 fluid ounce at Ulta. It comes in 22 shades with 10 shades for deeper skin and I have the shade 30 N (light skin with neutral undertones). This is the 2018 Allure Best of Beauty Winner. It’s billed as a water-free, oil-free liquid foundation that has a unique, silky texture that provides weightless, full coverage and a natural finish. Formulated with only 10 ingredients, you get pigments at their purest: a little goes a long way. Use alone or mix drops with your skincare products, such as a face moisturizer, serum, sunscreen, and more. Customize your coverage: for lighter coverage use 1 drop, for maximum coverage use up to 4 drops. Developed in true-to-tone, fade-proof shades. Never cakey or masky for an even and natural look. Provides 16 hours of comfortable wear that is smudge-and transfer-resistant.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. Dolls when they say a little goes a long way they were not kidding. After taking this swatch picture I tested to see just how far I could get this swatch to spread… It spread from the back of my hand to 3 fingers up my wrist! I am intrigued by this one and will be putting it to the test tomorrow.

Tarte Travel Size Babassu Foundcealer Skincare Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 $15 for .33 fluid ounces of product … the full sized is $39 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta. The travel size comes in 6 shades with 1 for deep skin and I chose the shade 27 N Light/Medium Neutral… in the full sized bottle comes in 30 shades with 12 for deeper skin. This foundation is billed as a skincare foundation and  delivers an ultra-comfortable, natural radiant finish & medium customizable coverage and that it helps hydrate & give the appearance of plumper skin while minimizing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. This one says medium buildable coverage however I found with this swatch it was straight full coverage. It felt thick on the back of my hand so I have a feeling this one is going to feel mask like on the face … I’ll keep you posted.

Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation $30 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta. This one comes in 12 shades with 5 for deeper skin and I am in the shade 4 Medium Neutral. This one is billed as a medium-coverage liquid foundation with SPF 15 that feels lightweight, looks natural and is virtually undetectable on skin. Contains photochromic pigments that instantly adapt to brighten skin in any lighting, flower acids to help boost radiance* and hyaluronic acid to attract moisture to the skin’s surface and help maintain hydration. I have the travel sized that I hauled a few months back and so I have a great understanding of this foundation. This is a beautiful foundation. It’s not too heavy and doesn’t cake up or go patchy. It doesn’t break down throughout the day. I really truly like this foundation.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. In pictures this foundation looks as if it’s too dark… but in person it’s a spot on match for me.

Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer $29 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and is also offered in a travel sized bottle for $15 but is only offered in 3 shades for the travel size. In the full sized tube it comes in 30 shades with 15 for deeper skin and I chose the shade 20 N Light Neutral. It’s billed as an ultra-lightweight & hydrating tinted moisturizer that delivers a sheer wash of color while infusing skin with maracuja super fruit for 12-hour hydration & wear. It also says the best way to apply is with the fingers.

The picture on the left is with no flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is a super light weight product. I look forward to trying it out. I have yet to find a tinted moisturizer that I like and from swatching this one I really think I’m going to like this one. I’ll test it out on my next “no makeup” makeup day.

Quasi-Fresh Faced Face of the Day

Published April 23, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! Hope you are having a great day/night! I’m doing OK… I am in a heap of pain but I got good sleep last nigh. I really didn’t have a look in mind for today so I decided to so a semi-fresh faced look.

Today I am wearing Elizabeth Arden Red Door Revealed perfume. Let’s jump right into today Face of the Day ….

20200423_143031

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora) and just a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around the pores of my cheek area. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade #3 Light/Medium to give my skin that lit from within glow. For foundation today I am using L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 420 True Beige.  I took the Hollywood Flawless Filter up under my under eyes so I chose not to use a color corrector today instead I just used 3 little dots of Joah Wand Me Up Perfecting Concealer ($6.50 on their website and at CVS) in the shade Ivory. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ( $38 on the Beautylish website) in the shade 2 Medium/Dark… I used it around the perimeter of my forehead, hollows of the cheeks, and the bridge of my nose. I then highlighted the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, and high points above my brows using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($39 on the Beautylish website). I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Cream Bronzer ($50 on their website) in the shade Universal Tan. I then set my full face using Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 only at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent. I am using Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade L4-M1 Beige as my setting powder.

20200423_143012

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade L4-M1 Beige as the base for this look and also to sheer out the crease color so that it looked more skin like. I applied this powder from lash to brown and then went into the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 palette ($48 on her website). I started with my mobile lid and I applied the shade Aura Sequin (vanilla with fuchsia pin points) and then I added a little of Aura Metallic (champagne shimmer) to the inner 1/3 and to the inner corners as a highlight. For my crease shade I used Soothe Sequin (camel with gold pin points) and then I went over that with the Flower Beauty powder to soften the color. I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown). I then used this liner to created a baby wing on my upper lash line. I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using Matt Malloy (pure bright white matte) from The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette ($30 on the Brigette’s Boutique website). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

20200423_143105

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                            Since I did the cream highlighter and was really loving the effect of it I chose not to use powder highlighter today. For blush today I chose Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Blissful (bright rose matte). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude). I topped the lips off using MAC Satin Lipstick ($19 at Ulta) in the shade Brave (pink-beige with white pearl).

20200423_143048

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I really loved the way this look turned out. In real life it’s super subtle and ethereal looking. The Charlotte Tilbury eyeliner on the upper lash line is soft and delicate compared to a liquid liner would be. It’s the first time I tried using a pencil liner on the upper lash line… I normally use either a liquid or a gel liner… I really am digging the way it looks.

I got one of my Ulta orders today so I will be doing a haul post shortly. I have 1 more Ulta order coming Monday (that one is just a little order, I think I have a glow primer, a loose powder, and an eye shadow palette in that order). I’m also waiting on a foundation that I ordered from Il Makiagee.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and great health. Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Real Neat Blog Award

Published April 22, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day going? Great I hope.

I’m honored to announce that I was nominated by RetroDee for The Real Neat Blog Award!

Thanks RetroDee for the nomination doll! I feel very honored.

The ‘rules’ of the Real Neat Blog Award are:

1. Put the award logo on your blog.

2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.

3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.

4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs; and asking them seven questions.

5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

Now for the 7 questions I was asked to answer:

1. Who or what inspires you to write your blog?

My husband. I’ve always loved playing in makeup and really wanted to do a Youtube channel but I dont have enough courage to start a channel so he created this blog for me as a surprise one day when I was having a seriously bad Fibro day.

2. Would you consider doing a You Tube channel, or do you already have one?

I have an account with Youtube and have always wanted to produce videos but I feel self conscious of my weight and the gap in my front teeth. I also feel as if at 46 I have missed the window to really make a go at it. If I could go back in time and push myself to jump right on in I totally would.

3. What era would you live in if you could pick any time period (or do you like this one?)

I would love to live as an older person in the 70’s I was a baby for the 70’s so I missed so much.

4. What’s your favorite TV program?

All 3 Chicago shows: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D.

I also am a huge Shadowhunters fan

5. Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes I 100% believe in ghosts … I’ll have to do a post on my ghost encounter one day.

6. Do you enjoy cooking or baking better? Or neither?

I enjoy them both but I love baking just a little bit more than cooking.

7. Who is your favorite band of all time?

Christain Music: Casting Crowns

Secular Music: Fallout Boy

Finally, I nominate the following blogs: (please remember that there is no pressure to participate, if you don’t want to, or don’t have the time, no worries!)

My Nominees:

Courtney Carruthers

Be Beautifuls

Ruelha

Didi

bekkibee22

2. What is your favorite and least favorite makeup product?

3. What is the one accomplishment you are the proudest of?

4. What is your favorite skin care item and why?

5. What makeup look would you like to try and master?

6. What is your favorite movie and why?

7. What is your favorite book and why?

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you have a great test of your day/night. Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

Quick No Makeup Makeup Look Face of the Day

Published April 22, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m still in a world of pain today. I slept in until 10:30 AM and really didn’t feel like fiddling around with my makeup so I decided to do one of my go to “no makeup” makeup looks. Now my eye brows didn’t cooperate with me today … they look so bold against this fresh faced look but there was nothing I could do to fix them so I’ll be doing another “no makeup” makeup look tomorrow and hopefully the brows will be better.

Today I am wearing Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

20200422_144813

oof these brows are just so bad today!!!

For foundation today I am using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 4.5 Medium. Normally for my “no makeup” makeup looks I use a BB or CC cream, but I wanted to know how this foundation would work with the Flawless Filter and this foundation is typically a light medium coverage anyway so it still works with the look as a whole.  I took the Hollywood Flawless Filter up under my under eyes so I chose not to use a color corrector today instead I just used 3 little dots of ColourPop No Filter Concealer ($7 on their website) in the shade Medium 20. I then set the rest of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder ($45 at Sephora) in the shade 2 Medium (this is also the powder I’ll use for touch ups today). Because this look is very neutral and a bit pale I needed to add a bit more depth to the perimeter of the face so I used the lightest hand and the tiniest amount of Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola.

20200422_144753

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette ($12.60 at Ulta) in the colorway Warm Neutrals. I started with the 3rd shade of the 1st row (a creamy vanilla matte) and I buffed it in from lash line to brow bone. To add definition to the crease I went in with the 4th shade of the 2nd row (a light toned camel tan matte) into the crease and above the crease a little into the transition line. For my mobile lid I wanted just a bit of shimmer so I used the 4th shade of the 1st row (a champagne with a slight yellow flip shimmer). For my lower lash line I just wanted to add a bit of definition so i buffed a little of the camel tan color into the lash line. I highlighted my inner corners with Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade HoneyDew (an icy pink with a silver flip metallic). I lined my lower lash line using The Balm Mr. Write Eyeliner (originally $13 but on sale right now for $6.50 on their website) in the shade Seymour Datenights. I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil (originally $9.50 but on sale for $6.65 on their website) in the shade Black Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and set the brow line using the 1st shade of the 1st row (a creamy ivory matte). I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

20200422_144850

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                            Since I did the cream highlighter and was really loving the effect of it I chose not to use powder highlighter today. For blush today I chose Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Blissful (bright rose matte). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude). I topped the lips off using Charlotte Tilbury  K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick ($34 at Sephora) in the shade Bitch Perfect (a peach toned nude creme).

20200422_144833

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I love “no makeup” makeup looks. They are quick to apply and give a soft and subtle look to your complexion. Typically I use a eye brow powder instead of a pencil or pomade, I just forgot to reach for mine brow powder and just reached out for my pencil. I find that for a naked look brow powders are the best because they look the most natural as far as makeup goes. I had already had most of my right brow on when I realized my mistake and since I already had my eye shadow done I didn’t want to have to start over so I just rolled with it… I’m not going anywhere today anyway so it’s OK …

Typically with no makeup makeup days I start off with my eyes, then do my brows, and then I go on to my complexion. I do the complexion last so that I can carve out my brow line at the top without disturbing my foundation or bb cream.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health. Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

Warm Neutral With a Wing Face of the Day

Published April 21, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Today I am having a really bad Fibromyalgia day. I am in a world of pain. I can’t stand and I can’t walk. I hurt so bad that it keeps making me vomit. I think I’m headed for another Fibro flair. That’s when your body becomes riddled with Fibro symptoms and lasts a few days to weeks … One time I had a flair last a year. So I may not be doing a Face of the Day tomorrow just to give myself some rest while I heal.

Today I am wearing Burberry Brit perfume. Let’s jump into this Face of the Day …

20200421_152221

Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 at Sephora) and just a tad bit of Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) around the pores of my cheek area. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade #3 Light/Medium to give my skin that lit from within glow. For foundation today I am using Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation ($44 on the Beautylish website) in the shade 3 Neutral. I took the Hollywood Flawless Filter up under my under eyes so I chose not to use a color corrector today instead I just used 3 little dots of Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade L3-4 Light.  I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ( $38 on the Beautylish website) in the shade 2 Medium/Dark… I used it around the perimeter of my forehead, hollows of the cheeks, and the bridge of my nose. I then highlighted the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, and high points above my brows using first the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Goldgasm and then went in on the high points with the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($39 on the Beautylish website). I then set the rest of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder ($45 at Sephora) in the shade 2 Medium (this is also the powder I’ll use for touch ups today). After setting my face I really didn’t think I needed to bronze but I wanted to add just a bit more color to the skin so I lightly warmed up my face using Benefit Boxed Bronzer ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Hoola.

20200421_152243

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette ($12.60 at Ulta) in the colorway Warm Neutrals. I started with the 2nd shade of the 2nd row (a pastel peach nude matte) from the lash line to the brow bone. I then used the 2nd shade of the 4th row (a mid-toned terracotta matte) on the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then decided I wanted less orange and more brown to the look so i layered the 1st shade of the 4th row (a deep chocolate with a rose gold shift shimmer) over top of the terracotta shade. I then used the 3rd shade of the 2nd row (peachy pink with silver flip metallic) on the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid and then took the 1st shade of the 3rd row (a vintage gold metallic) and patted that over the middle 1/3 to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. For the bottom lash line I used more of the terracotta shade and created a drop shadow with it. I then took more of the chocolate brown shade and smudged that along my lash line. I highlighted the inner corners using a combo of the 2nd shade of the 1st row (white with a yellow shift metallic) and the 4th shade of the 1st row (champagne metallic). I lined my lower and upper waterlines using Inglot Gel Liner ($15.20 on their wbesite) in the shade #90 Brown. I coated my upper and lower lashes with 2 coats of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

20200421_152319

Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                             Since I did the cream highlighter and was really loving the effect of it I chose not to use powder highlighter today. For blush today I chose Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Sephora) in the shade Seduce (rosey nude matte). I lined and then filled in my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude). I topped the lips off using ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick (discontinued was limited edition) in the shade Uno Mas (medium dusty coral).

20200421_152343

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I don’t know if I will be able to play with my makeup tomorrow. I might just do a quick no makeup/makeup look and that’s if I am not in as much pain as I am today.

I checked my beauty orders … I have several in the mail as we speak and should have them all by weeks end. I will do a haul post and of course follow up with a full review on the products I purchased.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

My Basic Natural Go To Face of the Day

Published April 20, 2020 by aspooniesmakeupbag

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up a bit late today (around 10:30 Am)…. my body just needed a bit more sleep today. I really didn’t feel like playing around with my makeup when I first woke up … so I was going to do a simple naked look but then I go my Beautylish order and wanted to play with the makeup items I ordered from them … so I ended up just doing one of my go to basic natural looks. Today I am wearing Ralph Lauren Romance perfume…. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

20200420_154506

I quickly set my under eyes using Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent. Before setting my face I decided to try a few new cream products that I purchased that came in the mail today. First I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ( $38 on the Beautylish website) in the shade 2 Medium/Dark… I used it around the perimeter of my forehead, hollows of the cheeks, and the bridge of my nose. I then highlighted the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, tops of the cheeks, center of the chin, and high points above my brows using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($39 on the Beautylish website).

Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the Pixi by Petra Hello Beautiful Face Case ($24 at Target and on their website) in the color story  Hello LA Angel. I created this look using both bronzer shades in this palette. I started by using the lighter bronzer (Natural) from lash to brow. I then used the deeper bronzer (Beach-y) in the crease to add a tad bit more depth… it’s subtle but does give dimension to the all over look. I then lightly tapped the shade Sand (gold with a slight rose undertone metallic) all over the mobile lid to add a hint of glow. I used the deeper bronzer (Beach-y) along my lash line to give the lash line some life and highlighted the inner corners using the shade Sunny (icy white with a gold shift metallic). I lined my lower and upper waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (soft dark brown) I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Believe Beauty Brow Defining Pencil ($4 Only at Dollar General) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using the shade Clean (a bright vanilla matte) and then went back over the brow line with more of the shade Sunny and then layered more of the shade Clean over that so that I could add a hint of glow without it going over board. I coated my upper and lower lashes with 2 coats of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I really enjoyed all the products I purchased from the Charlotte Tilbury brand!! I truly loved just how fresh and perfected my skin looked today. The 4 products I used today were definitely standout hits for me. The only product that I have left to play with is the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand in the shade Goldgasm… this one is just a bit of a let down because the gold is so yellow based that I don’t see it being able to work for me … I’m going to try it tomorrow to see if I can get it to work for me.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter: A+++!!!                                                             This stuff is amazing!!! It’s so pretty on the skin. It’s a doe-foot applicator and so I used about 3 swipes for both sides of my face 2 swipes for my forehead and 1 swipe for the center of my face and neck. The directions say to use a foundation brush but I just rubbed it in with my fingers and it gave me a really soft lit from within glow. This product is similar to the BECCA Backlight Primer Filter, but I think just from this first use that it’s a better than the BECCA one is. Even with a full coverage foundation on today I could still see the glow peeking through the foundation. I know I will be repurchasing this one when I run out… it’s so darn good.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation: A+++!!!!                                                  Dolls!!! This foundation is beautiful! I mean truly BEAUTIFUL!!! It’s a demi-matte finish that is full coverage and super pigmented. A very little of this product goes a very long way! I dispensed 5 pumps and applied this the same way I would all my other foundations and that left my skin flawless but I had way too much product. This foundation didn’t bunch up around my nose or my forehead (not that I have much trouble with foundations doing this, however with super full coverage foundations like this one I do tend to get a bit of bunching up texture in those areas). I’ve only used this foundation for the first time today and I can already tell this is going to be my new favorite foundation. I know for sure I will repurchase this when I run out.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand: A+++!!!                                                           Normally I skip contouring my face because I’m just not that good at it, and I most definitely never cream contour because it always scared me. But after binge watching beauty videos on YouTube and watching so many Beauty Gurus using this product one day I decided to order it and give it a go…. SO DARN GLAD I DID!!!! At first I was worried because the product is really rich in pigment when you first apply it … I held my breath and began to blend it in with a beauty sponge and the final outcome was so flawless, so perfectly contoured that I couldn’t believe my eyes! It even looked amazing on my nose (and I have always had trouble with my nose when it came to bronzing it because the tip on my nose is so big). Now I didn’t use this product on the tip of my nose, but I did use it on the bridge and it looked so good. This product is super creamy but not so creamy that it streaks or goes splotchy. The tone of the product gives that natural looking shadow to the skin. This is another product I just know I will be repurchasing when i run out.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand: A+++!!!                                                     Hands down my favorite of all time highlighter!! Most cream highlighters go patchy on me really quick… this one did not. I even applied a bit more AFTER setting my face and it didn’t go patchy then either. The shade is perfect for my skin tone. Even after setting my face you can still see the glow from this product. Without setting the face it made me look so ethereal and so fresh faced that I toyed with not setting the face … but it’s the first time i am using these cream products and wanted to give them their best chance, so I set my face. Once again … this is a product I will repurchase when i run out.

I am seriously impressed with the Charlotte Tilbury products I tried out today. Even though it is a full coverage foundation, I don’t feel I’m wearing any foundation. In fact today is the first day in a while that I love the way my skin looks up close. There is no texture or cakey looking skin, and there is no powdery look to the skin and I have not only setting powder, but a light layer of powdered bronzer and blush on my face too.

Ms Tilbury knows her makeup!! That is so evident.

Well that’s all for now dolls. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO

This month’s beauty haul comes from the Beautylish website. I purchased all these products for a total of $293.00 and got free shipping. I also took advantage of their flex pay option. I paid $143 down and will be paying $75 for the months of May and June.

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. My muscle that I pulled is starting to feel a bit better so that’s a plus for me. So received one of my beauty purchases today whilst I was getting ready this morning. So let’s get this haul going….

20200420_154912

Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum $6 for 1 fluid ounce. The website states that it replenishes your skin’s moisture content. That this water-light serum draws moisture to the skin for long-lasting hydration. With just one use, skin appears smooth, supple, and well-hydrated. BECCA Backlight Priming Filter $39 for 1.01 fluid ounces. The website states that it helps to blur imperfections and impart a radiant glow and that it is infused with three unique Filtering Luminescent Pearls, each one adds a different drop of diffused light. I have never used this as a primer. I also use it as a mix in with my foundations. It just gives this amazing lit from within glow to the skin. I have used this product on it’s own on no makeup days to give a healthy glow to the skin. This is a repurchased product for me.

for this swatch I used a pea sized amount.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash.

20200420_155206

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter in the shade #3 Light/Medium $44 for 1.01 fluid ounces. The website states that it is a customizable complexion booster that’s a primer, highlighter, and luminous mixing medium in one and that it has smoothing airbrush polymers and finely milled powders roll over skin with a creamy texture, minimizing the look of imperfections on camera and in real life.  I tried it for the first time today and I gotta say …. I’m low key in love with this product! It’s in the same vein as the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter, except it’s a bit more subtle in appearance. This product is offered in 7 shades with 2 for deeper skin.

20200420_155234

This is 1 dab of the doe-foot applicator.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash. In pictures this one packs a bigger punch than the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter, but in real life it has a beautiful glow with a subtle sheen to it.

20200420_155314

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation in the shade 3 Neutral $44 for 1 fluid ounce. The website states that it’s a stay-all-day, weightless foundation that balances your skin’s unique undertones and optimizes overtones for comfortable full coverage with a natural-matte finish. It also says that it’s a sweat-proof and transfer-resistant formula. This foundation is available in 40 shades with 15 shades for deeper skin.

20200420_155336

This swatch was done with 1/2 a pump of product… and it spreads so far… I realized a little too late when trying out this foundation that a very little goes a very long way!!

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash. This little 1/2 pump of product could have covered 1/2 my face. This is super pigmented and creamy and does not set down all the way but leaves a demi-matte finish.

20200420_155422

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand in the shade 2 Medium/Dark $38 for .41 fluid ounces. This product is billed as being lightweight, easy to blend and buildable and that it is a soft-focus, semi-matte contour that has treated pigments with good adherence and color uniformity that create shadows and define features for a natural finish. This product comes in 1 shades Light/Medium and Medium/Deep … unfortunately there are no shades in this range that would help our deeper skinned beauties.

20200420_155437

This swatch is created with just the residual product left over from when i used it this morning.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash. This product was so simple to use. I had been very interested in cream products but was afraid of the application process, this wand made it so simple and it blends out so seamlessly that it made me feel like a pro. It’s the correct undertone for contour done right. I used just a little around the hairline, hollows of the cheeks, jaw line, and bridge of the nose…. I was so impressed!!

20200420_155518

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand $39 for .41 fluid ounces. The website states that the rose golden highlight hue flatters all skin tones, whilst the treated pearls blur imperfections, for the perfect, Hollywood gloss highlight.

20200420_155538

This swatch is created with just the residual product left over from when i used it this morning.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash. I’ve used cream highlighters before and never really liked them … but I figured I’d try this one out since I was trying out the contour cream too… I am so glad I did! This applied like a dream and the glow I got from it was so beautiful!! I did end up setting my face and you can still see the glow on the skin … it’s just a bit more subtle, think lit from within glow. I am going to try this product without setting my face to see how long it lasts… but even with setting the face the glow was stunning.

20200420_155622

Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand in the shade Goldgasm $38 for .41 fluid ounces. The website states this is a Highlighter/Blush hybrid that was inspired by lighting tricks of Hollywood photographers, this highlighter-blush hybrid plays with the light for a soft-focused glow that mimics the look of joy, fun, and happiness.

20200420_155634

This swatch was just 1 squeeze of the wand. It’s much more gold than I would like for a highlighter so I will have to play around with this a bit to figure out the best way for me to use it.

The picture on the left is with flash and the one on the right is without flash. I really don’t know how I’m going to make this product work. It’s just way too deep gold … I thought it would be a more soft gold with a luminous finish … like the website description states… however … this one would be stunning on our deeper skinned beauties!!!

Well… That’s my beauty haul dolls. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night! I should have another April Haul for you soon… just waiting for my Ulta order that is STILL processing … gotta love this Covid-19 slow motion way of life we have going on.

Well … that’s all for now dolls. Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
