Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I just received part of my makeup purchases, a few from the Tart website and a few from Ulta’s website …. I used a few of the items today …. let’s jump into it ….
* NOTE: All swatches are done with no primer on bare skin and in 1 swipe.
NYX Wonder Stick $12 for .28 ounces of product at Ulta and is billed as a dual-ended highlighter and contouring stick. With its creamy finish, the Wonder Stick conceals, highlights and contours with ease for a naturally sculpted look. It comes in 4 shades (6 shades on the NYX website), at Ulta there is 1 shade for light, medium, deep, and universal…. on the NYX website there actually is 2 shades for deep skin. I don’t consider this a contour stick. I purchased the shade Medium and upon swatching it the contour shade seems to be the wrong undertone for contour … but it’s a nice shade for bronzing. The stick formula is very creamy and sets fairly well.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is with 1 pass of the stick. I can tell this is a pretty pigmented product.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. It didn’t take much to blend both these shades out. The highlight shade seems to be a tiny bit too light for my liking but I’ll give it a try anyway to see how I like it.
Juvia’s Place The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette $12 at Ulta and is billed as a a sleek and beautiful hand picked nude and rich brown palette that can be used to create stunning eye looks. In true Juvia’s Place fashion… these shadows do not have names. It has 2 mattes, 1 pressed pigment, and 3 metallics.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. From left to right the shades are a : A PEACHY CHAMPAGNE WITH SILVER FLIP- METALLIC, A LIGHT BEIGE- MATTE PRESSED PIGMENT, A CHAMPAGNE WITH GOLD FLIP- METALLIC, A LIGHT ROSE- MATTE, A PINK CHAMPAGNE- METALLIC, AND A RICH TERRACOTTA BROWN- MATTE.
These shadows are just a good as the first Juvia’s Place palette I purchased. Super pigmented and easy to blend.
ColourPop She’s Got Solstice Eyeshadow Palette (An Ulta Exclusive) $14 at Ulta and it’s billed as having fresh, wearable shades that are your perfect transition into spring and add a fun pop to your looks all year. This palette has 5 mattes, 3 metallics, and 1 ultra metallic.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. From left to right the shades are: So Sirius: multi-dimensional gold- metallic, Big Bang: pale baby pink- matte, Quasar: coral terracotta- matte, Nova: nude clay- matte, and Estrella: pink coral with a gold flip- metallic.
Super Stardust: mid-tone bronzey gold- ultra metallic, Marz: icy moss with a silver flip- metallic, Earth Angel: pinky coral- matte, and Chromosphere: deep red brown- matte.
Tarte Sugar Rush Beach Cheeks Cream Blush $15 on their website and is billed as a gorgeous, natural flush with a quick swipe of your fingertips and is made with shea butter, mango seed butter & avocado oil which leaves skin super soft. It comes in 2 shades… the one i chose is Beaches & Cream (a peachy pink) and the other shade they sell is called Ocean Girl (rosey pink). I did find that there was a learning curve with this one. I had to build it up 3 layers to get suitable color payoff. At the end of my makeup application I added just 1 more light layer over top of my setting powder and it did not go patchy.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is just 1 layer of the product. The way I do my makeup when I’m using cream products is that I apply my cream blush before my concealer so that I can blend the lines together… with this product I noticed that I needed to go back into the blush several times to build the color back up as well as top the cheeks off 1 more time after powdering because the powder muted the blush shade.
Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 on the Tarte website) and the Breezy Blender Brush ($29 on the Tarte website) the bronzer shade I chose is Grace Bay (deep matte bronze). This bronzer comes in 3 shade selections matte, deep matte, and rich matte which corresponds to light, medium, and deep. The brush made it super easy to apply this product. It’s the right thickness and the perfect shade to get a perfectly contoured face.
The picture on the left is without flash and the one on the right is with flash. This is the perfect undertone for that just sun kissed glow. It’s creamy without being greasy and with the corresponding brush blends in seamlessly.
Well that’s all for today’s post dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits.
Remember dolls … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
