Neutral Look With A Pop Of Blue Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I actually woke up fairly early today (around 7:30 AM) and I feel well rested and my pain level is pretty normal today. My energy fluctuating but I was able to cook lunch for my Mom and still have enough energy to sit down and do my makeup … so basically I’ve beat my illness today.

For perfume today I am wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures…. Now, let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ($37 at Sephora) in Smoothing. I then went in with the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Light Medium. My foundation today is J Cat Beauty’s HD Perfection Skinsealer Foundation (regularly $7.99 but on sale for $5 on their website) in the shade Warm Honey (it’s too dark and too orange for me so I mixed in some NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (both are $12 on their website) in white and also in olive and that created the perfect shade for me). I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and on the Charlotte Tilbury website) in the shade Medium Dark to contour the perimeter of my face and down the bridge of my nose. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website) and then I went in with just a touch of Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie to set the high points of my face. I concealed my under eyes using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer ($32 at Sephora) in the shade 3 Fair. I warmed up the perimeter of my face using Tarte Breezy Cream Bronzer ($29 on the Tarte website) in the shade Grace Bay (deep matte bronze). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then topped off  the perimeter of my face using a light layer of MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. I chose the Flower Beauty Light Illusion Perfecting Powder ($13.99 at Ulta) in the shade Beige L4-M1.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil ($9.50 on their website) in the shade Brunette. I carved out the brow line using BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette (discontinued). I started by setting my eye base using the shade Laetus (a warm toned beige matte). I then went into the shade Ludwin (a warm toned peachy orange matte) all through the crease up to the brow line. I then went into the shade Lucius (soft beige satin) all over the mobile lid and then I patted a light layer of Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Fairytale (icy white pearl) over the top, and then I felt that the mobile lid was too bright so I went into more of the shade Ludwin and dusted a very light layer of that over the top of the mobile lid. I then went into the shade Samael (dusty fawn matte) into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and then into the outer v of the crease. I wanted it a bit deeper so I then layered the shade Sytry (chocolate brown matte) and then I wanted it a bit warmer so I then layered the shade Succubus (rich rust matte) over the top of the other 2 shades. I then took a clean fluffy crease brush and buffed the whole eye look out to make sure there was no harshness to this look … I wanted an almost airbrushed look to the shadows. For the lower lash line I created a soft focus drop shadow starting with more of the shade Laetus and then more of Samael and then finally Sytry to deepen the lash line up and then I went into more of Succubus to warm up the under eye and then I buffed out the edges using more of Ludwin. I then went back to the brow line and smudges in a bit of Liberatus (a cool toned whitish beige matte). I highlighted the inner corners using Benefit Boxed Highlighter ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade cookie. I then lined my lower water lines using Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website) in the shade Nude. I then created i mid-sized wing on my upper lash line using Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-HR Eyeshadow (was gifted to me when my best friend passed away last year but can be found on Amazon for $6.50 and can be found on Walmart’s website) in the shade Tenacious Teal. I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($25 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Black.

Cheeks and Lips:

I applied my blush with the rest of my cream products since I was using Tarte Sugar Rush Beach Cheeks Cream Blush ($15 on their website) in the shade Beaches & Cream (a peachy pink). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Another Round (rosey nude) and then tapped a bit of L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade I Empower (a pale dusty peachy coral) over the top and then I topped it off with a light layer of NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on their website) in the shade Striptease (a champagne nude).

Final Thoughts:

I really like this muted look with a punchy pop of teal in the winged eyeliner. I could have played up the lip a little more but I kinda dig the only pop of bright color comes from the lash line.  I really want to play around with more colorful lash lines … I typically only wear black and brown on my upper lash line … but this pop of color is so fun.

I will be doing another Spanish food blog tomorrow because I’ll be making Bacalao Guisado (Stewed Salted Cod). So stay tuned.

My beauty fridge should be delivered tomorrow of course I will post about it once it’s set up.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits.

Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
