Soft Bronze with a Vampy Lip Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up today around 8 AM but didn’t start my makeup until around noon, I made breakfast pizza for my family and than needed to rest a bit before getting my day going.

I didn’t know what dirrection I was going with my makeup look, all I knew was that I wanted to wear my Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Liquorice (discontinued… the shade is a dark warm burgundy). I hadn’t used it in a while and wanted to see if it was a lipstick I still wanted in my collection …. the answer to that question is YES ….. yes I most certainly want this shade in my collection. Such a pretty vampy lip color.

Today’s perfume is Versace Red Jeans. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day…..

Base:

I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ($37 at Sephora) in Smoothing. I then used the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) as my glow lotion for the day. My foundation today is L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 420 True Beige. I used a bit of Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 on their website and at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach for some light color correction and for concealer I chose Physicians Formula Conceal RX (discontinued) in the shade Natural Light. I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and on the Charlotte Tilbury website) in the shade Medium Dark to contour the perimeter of my face and down the bridge of my nose. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand  ($38 on the Beautylish website, The Charlotte Tilbury website and at Sehora) in the shade Spot Light and then I went in with just a touch of Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light colorway and using the Glow in that kit to set the high points of my face. I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then topped off  the perimeter of my face using a light layer of Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($15.99 at Ulta). I also used the Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) and using the Soft Focus powder as an all over finishing powder. I chose the Wet n Wild Photofocus Pressed Powder ($5.47 on their website but on sale now for $3.57) in the shade Neutral Beige as my touch up powder for the day.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using Joah Brow Down To Me Precision Brow Pencil ($9.50 on their website) in the shade Brunette. I carved out the brow line using BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the shimmer side and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. and then set the brow line using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in Sugar (icy white pearl). For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place The Warrior Palette ($20 on their website). I started by laying down the shade Ahosi (light cantaloupe matte) all over the lids from lash to brow line. I then went into the shade Kano (caramel with yellow under-tone matte) into the crease. I then went into the shade Mino (dark chocolate matte) onto the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then took a clean fluffy crease brush and buffed the edges of the whole eye. On the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade  Amina (an antiqued golden bronze metallic). I then used the shade Benin (golden taupe metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the lid to blend the inner and outer 1/3 together. I created a drop shadow on the lower lash line using more of the shade Kano and then deepened the lower lash line with more of the shade Mino. I then highlighted the inner corners using the shade Moremi (white gold metallic). I tight lined both my upper and lower waterlines using L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner ($8.99 at Ulta) in the shade Black and Physicians Formula Lash Contortionist Mascara (discontinued).

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing Makeup Revolution Blusher Reloaded ($6 at Ulta) in the shade Rhubarb & Custard (coral pink). On my lips today I  lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Bichette (deepened red) and then topped off my lips using Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Liquorice (discontinued… the shade is a dark warm burgundy).

Final Thoughts:

Juvia’s Place The Warrior Palette : I grade this one an A++: The pan size is pretty big which means I wont hit pan on these beautiful metallics any time soon. There was zero kick back in the pans and zero fallout on the face. These shadows are pressed hard but are finely milled. The mattes are on the drier side but buffed out wonderfully without skipping or going patchy and they buff into each other well without going muddy. The metallics are a bit more butterier than the mattes but still on the drier side of metallics that I’m use to and I did notice that, because of that dryness, the metallics seem to emphasize the fine lines on my mobile lid…. nothing too bad, I just took a clean flat shader brush and buffed over the lines to remove the texture. All in all a beautiful palette I wont be able to get many different looks with this palette on it’s own, however I do have other palettes that will pair beautifully with it for more looks…. I can see myself using this palette a ton.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

Remember dolls …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO
