My Makeup Collection Vol. 2 The Foundations Part 1

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope … I’m back with vol. 2 of my makeup collection (Vol 1 of my makeup collection was My Primer Collection ) … grab a snack and settle in this one is a long one … I have a ton of foundation …. So I will be doing this in 2 parts

*Note: I apply all my foundations with a beauty sponge … I never use a foundation brush… however there are a few of these foundations I can get away with applying with my figures …. typically the bb cc and tinted moisturizers*

So let’s jump on in ….

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation $12 at Ulta for .7 fluid ounces. Comes in 16 shades with 3 for deep-ish skin tones (they could do better for our deep skin beauties). I’m in the shade F5.7 (this shade is only sold on the Revolution Beauty website .

This foundation is billed as being specially formulated to suit every skin type and tone but is particularly beneficial for dry skin formulated with hyaluronic acid, it offers all-day-long radiance and glow without settling into fine lines or clinging to dry patches.

This is a beautiful foundation, truly it is. I’ve never had a bad makeup day with this one ever. This one is in my top 5 favorite foundations.

NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil $13 for .9 fluid ounces at Ulta. Comes in 12 shades with 6 shades for deeper skin. I am in the shade Beige Camel however I think I could get away with True Beige Buff (a shade 1 step down from this one).

It’s billed as a lightweight tinted cream with a seamless, satiny finish to help you achieve the ultimate fresh faced no makeup makeup look with  light, breathable coverage that delivers up to 8 hours of hydration  that never feels heavy or cakey.

I don’t really know how I feel about this one. Some days it goes on well and looks pretty and other times it gives me trouble and just look splotchy … I think this might have something to do with the primer I’m using at the time.

It’s a very light coverage product that is great for a no makeup … makeup look. It doesn’t build past light coverage, in fact the few times I’ve tried to build this one up I’ve gotten nothing but a greasy mess.

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation (discontinued but can be found on Amazon for $10.77 for 1 fluid ounce) and is billed as a long-wearing, breathable foundation that provides lightweight, buildable coverage with a satin finish. It came in 12 shades with 5 shades for deeper skin. I am the shade LN 4.

I’m bummed they discontinued this one … it’s a really good foundation that preforms every bit as well as the claims say. It gives the face a beautiful healthy glow to the skin.

This is another foundation that is a spot on match for my skin tone.

I don’t use this one often just because I don’t want to run out of it… I’m so sad they discontinued this one, really I am … it’s an amazing formula.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear $47 for 1 fluid ounce at Ulta and Sephora. This one comes in 50 shades with 8 shades for deeper skin. I have it in the shade 270 Bisque Warm.

It’s billed as an oil-free, long-wearing, liquid foundation that velvety-smooth complexion for up to 24 hours with medium to full matte coverage.

This one is a medium foundation that can be built up to full coverage but it’s more of a demi-matte finish.

There are days that this one is finicky. I have to be careful what primer I pair it with. It gets so frustrating that at times I just skip the primer all together.

It’s leaves the face looking flawless and pretty.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup (discontinued). I have it in the shade 4.0 and that an OK shade for me during the summer months, which is typically when I reach for this one.

It’s super light weight… very serum like. I love this foundation… I prefer it more than I do it’s replacement the Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation.

ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Moisturizer $14 for 1.45 fluid ounces of product at Ulta (and on the ColourPop website) and is billed as a hydrating, oil-free tinted moisturizer with lightweight coverage that evens skintone and leaves your skin looking fresh and healthy. Formulated with hyaluronic acid (aka HA) and coconut water to support skin hydration without adding oil, this tinted moisturizer works for all skin types and makeup styles.

It comes in 21 shades with 8 shades for deeper skin tones. I’m in the shade Medium 10 N but it’s just maybe a 1/2 shade darker than me and Light 8 N is about 1/2 shade too light so I chose the deeper of the 2 since it’s a tinted moisturizer I can still make it work.

It’s a good no makeup – makeup product. It’s not the longest lasting formula but I tend to use it just to add a little something to my skin when I want to look put together but not done up so I don’t really mind that it’s longevity is mediocre.

This is another one of those products that you can not build up because it instantly looks greasy if you do.

Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation $39 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and is billed as having 50 shades designed with 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 7 undertones in mind. This waterproof longwear foundation feels like a second skin, thanks to a breathable, flexible formula that moves with you (all day and all night, up to 24 hours). There are 17 shades for deeper skin and I have the shade 40 NN … I should have gone for 30 NN because this one is just a bit too orange on me… but I had already exchanged it 2 times and didn’t feel like going back to Ulta for attempt # 3 so I just make it work.

I don’t know about these claims but what I do know is that it feels like you aren’t wearing anything. It’s at best low medium coverage that builds to almost high medium coverage.

I don’t buy that this one really is a 24-HR wear foundation … I tend to need to touch up about every 2 hours when I’m wearing this one.

It’s a pretty decent product … I just really like the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup better.

Tarte Babassu Foundcealer Skincare Foundation $39 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and is billed as a vegan, skincare foundation, AKA your total complexion solution. This vegan makeup & skincare hybrid delivers an ultra-comfortable, natural radiant finish & medium customizable coverage while it hydrates & gives the appearance of plumper skin while minimizing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles and it can be applied with the fingers for a light application or with a sponge for a medium coverage.

It comes in 30 shades with 8 shades for deeper skin tones. I am in the shade 27 N light medium neutral which is a great match for me.

I do like this foundation but I have to touch up a heap when I wear it … I keep meaning to try it without using a moisturizer underneath to see if I can get it to last longer between touch ups but I always forget.

I purchased the mini to test it out to see if I would like it and the verdict is … I do actually like it and in the future I think I may purchase the full sized bottle.

It has a pretty glow to the skin that shows through even with a matte powder over the top (and this is definitely a foundation that needs to be set with power … this is not one of those foundations you can just leave dewy because it will break down on you.

Private Society Drops of Perfection Foundation $30 for 1 fluid ounce on their website and is billed as a unique, platinum primer infused foundation that is ideal for buildable coverage.  Water based formula provides intense hydration for any skin type.

It claims to be hydrating, transfer-resistant, skin balancing, color correcting, and long-wearing… part of those claims is true.

It is a hydrating formula that does wear long, however it does not color correct, and I don’t find that it balances my skin at all (in fact I often breakout while wearing this foundation) and as for being transfer-resistant … I can’t tell you how many of hubby’s shirts I’ve ruined hugging him with this foundation on …

All in all it’s a decent product… I wish I would have purchased it in perhaps warm (1 shade lighter) or light (2 shades lighter) the shade I have is medium and it’s noticeably darker than my body.

It comes in 18 shades with 6 for deeper skin and I purchased the shade Medium.

I think it’s an OK foundation … I like how I look in it (once I fuss with powders and bronzers to balance out the deepness of this shade) but it’s by far not one of my faves.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation $43 for 1.01 fluid ounce of product at Sephora and is billed as an undetectable medium coverage and a blurred, second-skin finish for up to 24 hours. Comes in 50 shades with 11 for deeper skin and I am in the shade Y235  Ivory Beige – for light skin with neutral undertones and it is a great shade match for me.

This is a beautiful foundation! I truly love how my makeup looks every time I wear this foundation. It truly is an undetectable medium coverage foundation and it never feels like I’m wearing foundation, in fact there have been a few times that I went to bed with my makeup on because I’d forgotten that I was wear it … hubby had to remind me to remove it or I would have slept in my makeup (eek).

This is one of my top 5 favorite foundations of all time.

NARS Natural Radiant Long-wear Foundation $49 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and Sephora and is billed as the first 16-hour, fade-resistant foundation that improves skin by the hour and stays true. Skin Recognition Pigments match your skin tone, delivering your most authentic coverage yet, while NARS’ Skin Optimizing Complex refines skin from the inside, out. Its full coverage never masks skin, but stays breathable, and unstoppably natural-looking. It comes in 30 shades with only 6 shades for deeper skin. I am in the shade Light 5 Fiji and it is a spot on match for me.

This is another one in my favorites! I love my skin in this foundation every single time I wear it!!!

It’s got this dewiness to it that just looks natural and a glow that never looks fabricated.

This one will always have a spot in my collection for as long as they continue to make it.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick $46 for .25 ounces of product at Sephora and is billed as a  weightless, waterproof foundation with an up to 12 hours og long-wearing, concentrated coverage in a custom, triangular component for fast and easy full coverage on-the-go and contains double the amount of pigment versus traditional foundations, and adjusts to your body temperature to effortlessly blend into the skin.

This stick foundation come in 32 shades with only 8 shades for deeper skin. I am in the shade Buff (light with warm undertones). At the time I purchased this foundation I was tan so this worked for me … it’s just perhaps 2 shades deeper than I would like now… I would prefer the shade Shell (light with neutral undertones).

This is a demi-matte foundation with full coverage. The demi-matte formula makes the skin look like skin and not makeup.

This was my favorite foundation, my go to foundation anytime I needed my skin to be absolutely perfect. I just don’t reach for it as much as I once did. I don’t know if that’s because I never remember I have it (it’s in this weird triangle shaped tune that gets lost behind other foundation bottles) or if I just prefer other foundations to this one … I may have to move it to my vanity in my line of sight to force me to use it more.

This one is one of few foundations that I own that I never need to set. It’s demi-matte so it does stay the slightest of tacky but nothing so serious that it slips or transfers. I wear this one mainly in the spring and fall. It’s too heavy for the summer and doesn’t last long in the Florida heat and it’s too matte for the winter when my skin craves a more dewy foundation.

I’ll be attempting to use this one more over the next few months and if I still am not reaching for it I just might declutter it from my collections as it’s my oldest foundation in my collection.

Rimmel London LASTING FINISH BREATHABLE FOUNDATION (not sure if this is being discontinued or not) I’m in the shade 102 light nude and I can’t find it anywhere to link it… the short of it is … I hate this foundation! I have no clue why I keep it around.

I hate the scent, I hate the undertone, I hate how it looks on my skin and I always break out from it.

I think in posting this I have decided that I will try and use it over then next 3 months and then if I haven’t liked it … I will declutter it.

A+: AOA Drop Liquid Foundation $1.88 for .64 fluid ounces of product on the Shop Miss A website and is billed as a  lightweight, natural formula that leaves a gorgeous satin finish. It comes in 15 shades with 5 shades for light, medium, and deep skin tones.

This is such an amazing little gem!! I can’t believe it’s only $1.88 for this foundation … it out performs a lot of my drug store foundations.

I have loved my makeup every time I’ve worn this one.

Boots No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All in One Foundation $15.99 for 1 fluid ounce on their website and is billed as a revolutionary multi-tasking all in one foundation that instantly perfects the appearance of skin, concealing blemishes and blurring the appearance of lines, wrinkles and pores while providing 24 hour hydration.

It comes in 12 shades with 4 for deeper skin. I am in the shade Calico.

I wish this one came in more shades for deeper skin! This is a freaking AMAZING foundation and is one of my top 5 faves.

It’s skin like and leaves the face perfected in a skin like way. I do not wear moisturizer with this one because it will go greasy if I do.

It is just such a beautiful medium coverage foundation.

Too Faced Born This Way Undetectable Medium-to-Full Coverage Foundation $39 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and Sephora and is billed as an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin with coverage so undetectable, they’ll think you were born this way. It comes in 35 shades with 15 shades for deeper skin tones and I am in the shade Warm Nude (very light with neutral undertones) and is a good shade match but I think the next time I want to try the shade Vanilla.

This use to be my every special occasion foundation because it just leaves the skin looking flawlessly beautiful.

I have since started using it more because I just simple adore how my skin looks in it. To be honest I just simple love the entire Born This Way collection … Too Faced knocked it out of the park with this collection and I just love how cohesive the collection is.

This is one of those foundations that I will always have as part of my collection.

I never have a bad makeup day anytime I’m wearing this foundation and even on no makeup – makeup days I use this foundation.

It’s a high medium coverage that is buildable to full coverage.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation $44 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Sephora, on the Beautylish website, and the Charlotte Tilbury website and is billed as a long lasting, medium-buildable coverage foundation with a demi-matte finish.

It comes in 20 shades with 7 shades for deeper skin but with no shades that someone with deeply rich skin tones can use. I am in the shade 4.5 (golden yellow shade for light to medium skin tones with warm undertones). It’s just a smidgen warmer than I typically like for my foundations but Charlotte doesn’t make shades in neutral undertones for this product … it’s either cool or warm and cool shades are too blue on my skin.

This is a pretty foundation that is lovely but finicky. This is one of those foundations that once you have it blended into the skin you can not touch until you set it or it will slip. For some reason it also doesn’t grab onto the sides of my nose … like around the nostril area. I almost always have to go in with a layer of concealer to hide the fact that this foundation is patchy in that area. (there are a few foundations this happens with but with this foundation the slip is more prominent).

I do like how pretty this foundation looks but I prefer the other Tilbury foundation I own better, mainly because I love a dewier/ satin foundation as a posed to a matter foundation these days.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation $44 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Sephora, the Beautylish website, and the Charlotte Tilbury website and is billed as a long-lasting, weightless, hybrid skincare-foundation that’s a secret to a flawless, poreless-looking, confident complexion. It comes in 44 shades with 16 shades for deeper skin tones and I am in the shade 3 Neutral (for fair skin with neutral undertones).

Charlotte says this is a full coverage matte formula, however I don’t get matte coverage from this foundation at all. I get a beautiful satin coverage from this one. It is however full coverage and a very little goes a very long way.

This one doesn’t set down so you do need a face powder but even with my matte loose powders the natural radiance of this foundation comes through.

This foundation is newer to my collection and is by far my favorite of all time.

DermaBlend Flawless Creator Liquid Foundation Drops $40 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and comes in 22 shades with 6 shades for deeper skin tones and I am in the shade 30 N (light skin with neutral undertones)

This 2018 Allure Best of Beauty winner is billed as a water-free, oil-free liquid foundation has a unique, silky texture that provides weightless, full coverage and a natural finish and is formulated with only 10 ingredients so that you get pigments at their purest: a little goes a long way and developed in true-to-tone, fade-proof shades. Never cakey or masky for an even and natural look providing 16 hours of comfortable wear that is smudge-and transfer-resistant.

Most of these claims are in fact true … it does in fact only have 10 ingredients in it, a little drop of this product goes a seriously long way, it’s a spot on shade match for me, it doesn’t fade even on a long day, never feels mask like and does not smudge. Now … with that said it can get cakey if you are not careful with it and I have gotten this foundation on a few of my shirts neck lines.

You can use this product alone or mix drops with your skincare products, and just like with the Cover FX Customer Cover Drops use can customize your coverage: for lighter coverage use 1 drop, for maximum coverage use up to 4 drops.

This is a super full coverage demi-matte foundation that doesn’t dry down all the way so it does need to be set with powder.

I purchased this one because I saw Marlena Stell of Makeup Geek use it mixed with a few drops of face oil on her YouTube video and it looked so amazingly beautiful that I just needed to try it out …. granted I haven’t tried it with a face oil yet but I have tried it on it’s own and I really do like it (provided I go in with a light hand … I have over done it and it felt thick and heavy on the face…. what I do is go in with 1 drop of product and stretch that as far as I can go and then I go in with little tiny drops as I go).

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops $29 for .25 fluid ounces of product on their website and comes in 30 shades with 10 shades for deeper skin tones and I am in the shade G Medium 1 for medium skin with warm undertones. (this shade is a bit deep for me and I think I want to pick up N Light 1 for fair to light skin with neutral undertones) I can make the shade I have work but I truly want the N Light 1 shade.

This foundation is billed as a pure liquid pigments that weightlessly blend with your favorite products to give you endless possibilities. Mix with cream or oil to tint a moisturizer, mix with primer to create a custom foundation, or mix with a foundation or concealer to lighten or deepen a shade and is says that 1 Drop = Sheer Coverage, 2 Drops = Medium Coverage, and 3 Drops = Full Coverage.

I love playing around with these drops. I have even been known to mix them into my lightest bb creams for added coverage.

Well that’s it for this part of the post … stay tuned tomorrow for the next installment of Vol 2 of the foundations.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good health and spirits.

Remember dolls … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
