Sunset Inspired Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up a bit late today (around 11:30 AM) and am feeling a bit better today. I still had to rest a bit whilst doing my makeup but I have a lower pain level today which means the new meds are working.

I didn’t know what direction I was going with my makeup I only new that I wanted a nice berry lip. So let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …..

Base:

I primed my face using VDL Lumilayer Primer ($32 at Ulta) and also ELF Poreless Putty Primer ($8 at Ulta). My foundation today is Catrice Cosmetics HD Liquid Coverage Foundation ($10.99 on their website) in the shade 030 Sand Beige. I contoured my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium Deep. I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using NYX Wonder Stick ($9 at Ulta) in the shade Medium.  I highlighted the high points of my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight. I concealed my under eyes using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer ($32 at Sephora) in the shade 3.  I set my concealer using ELF Smooth and Set High Definition Undereye Setting Powder ($4 on their website) in the shade sheer and then brightened the under eye area a bit more using aura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 1. I set the cream bronzer using NYX Matte Bronzer ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Deep Tan.  I set the cream highlighter using Makeup Revolution Highlighter Reloaded ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Dare to Divulge (rose gold). I then set the rest of the face using  Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the shade translucent. I have chosen the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder ($45 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 2.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($22 at Ulta) and filled in my brows using Revolution Pro Define and Fill Brow Pencil ($8 at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed the rest of my lids using the  P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s eye look I used the Juvia’s Place The Nubian 2 Palette ($20 at Ulta). I started with the shade Madagascar (beige matte) through the whole crease up to the brow line. I then set my brow line with Wet n Wild Color icon Eyeshadow Single ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (icy white shimmer). For the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease I used the shade Jezebel (maroon matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid i used the shade Nefertiti (18k gold metallic). For the lower lash line I used more of the shade Madagascar to create a slight drop shadow and then on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line I used ColourPop Loose Pigment (no longer sold – was a gift with purchase) in the shade The Dunes (berry pink with gold reflect) mixed with a few drops of Iglot Duraline ($16 on the Beautylish website). I then highlighted the inner corners using Zuri (ivory metallic). I lined my lower waterlines using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Alabama (muted maroon red). I then coated my lashes with 1 coat of AOA Studio Fat Lash Mascara ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) and then popped on a pair of Obsidian Cosmetics Lashes ($7.99 on their Etsy website) in the style Barbie. I then lined the upper lash line lightly using Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($22 at Ulta) in the shade Intense Black.

Cheeks and Lips:

For my blush today i chose NARS Blush ($30 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Dolce Vita (dusty rose matte). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only sold in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault *limited edition* no loger available) in the shade LBB (rich plum wine) and then topped off the lips using ColourPop Lippie Sitx ($7 on their website) in the shade Songbird (muted berry matte). I finished off my look with Too Faced Born This Way Turn Up The Light Highlighting Palette ($42 at Ulta and Sephora) in the Light color way … I used the middle shade called Soft Focus as a finishing powder.

Final Thoughts:

I really love how this look came out. There’s something magical about gold and red tones together.

I am really loving the lashes from Obsidian Cosmetics. They are hand made and all synthetic. I’ve been able to get 5 uses out of each pair.

I am planing to do a rainbow pride look later this week using the ELF x JKissa Palette… stay tuned for that.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and good health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO, Nita
