Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m very low on energy the past few days. Turns out my Hashimoto Syndrome is acting up and my Thyroid and Kidney functions are really low. The doctor changed my meds again to try and help my Thyroid and Kidneys start to improve but until the meds start to work I’ll be low on energy, more than when it’s just the Fibromyalgia giving me trouble, so I probably wont be able to do my makeup for a few more days or so. With that said I came across this really cool makeup challenge from fellow word presser Katie of KatieEmma Beauty , who by the way is an amazing beauty blogger! Her blog is just chalk full of amazing reads…. seriously you should go check her out. She found this challenge on Instagram and the original creators of this challenge are newlipstickclub1 , shimmershanny , and pan.o.ramics .
This is an 8 day challenge that centers on you creating your dream palette of the day …. the day assignments are:
Day 1: Dream Matte Palette
Day 2: Dream Shimmer Palette
Day 3: Dream Nude Palette
Day 4: Dream Color Palette
Day 5: Dream Face Palette (using eyeshadow only)
Day 6: Dream Monochromatic Palette
Day 7: Dream Eyeshadow Palette
Day 8: Dream Eyeshadow Palette (using non-eyeshadow)
So let’s start with Day 1: My Dream Matte Palette….
- PLEASE NOTE: I was contacted by newlipstickclub1 and she actually gave me the rules for this challenge … so I have decided to rename this post and start the challenge over.
Anyone who knows me knows I love bigger palettes and I also love matte shadows, they are my all time favorite shadows so for me to have my ultimate dream matte palette it would have to be a huge palette.
I put together my dream palette on Friday but had a hard time whittling it down to a smaller size …. by Sunday night I was able to whittle it down to 69 shades…. but this is the smallest I am willing to go with my dream palette… ultimately I would probably add 1 more shade to round it out to an even number but really these 69 shades are my ultimate dream palette to own, I really could not have a dream palette without all these shades in the palette….
*REMEMBER, when I do swatches , I always do my swatches on clean bare skin with no primer and in 1 pass…. also I always take a picture of the swatches with and without flash so that you can get a true sense of the colors …. the pictures without flash will be on the left and the ones with flash will be on the right or the ones with no flash will be on top and the ones with flash will be on the bottom*

My first row of my dream mattes palette would be:
Matt Malloy (pure white from The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette), Matt Lombardi (creamy camel tan from The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette), Canvas (creamy vanilla from the ELF Retro Paradise palette), Here Me Out (white peach ColourPop single eye shadow), Fresh (flesh tone from ELF Opposites Attract palette), Weekender (slightly deeper flesh tone from the Urban Decay Born to Run palette), the 4th shade of the Juvia’s Place The Nudes palette (light rose), Fuego (pastel coral from the ELF Retro Paradise palette), Sassy (coral from the Opposites Attract palette), and Nekkid (warm light orange coral from the ColourPop Double Entendre palette).

My second row of my dream mattes palette would be:
Charge It (soft rosy pink ColourPop single shadow), Cut Outs (dusty coral ColourPop single shadow), the 9th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Corals palette (light coral), the 12th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Corals palette (full on coral), Daura (salmon coral from the Juvia’s Place Warrior II palette), Morocco (deep orange from the Juvia’s Place Nubian II palette), Caliente (terracotta from the ELF Retro Paradise palette), Maybe Later (mid toned brick red from the ColourPop Whatever palette), Pass It On (warm terracotta from the ColourPop Whatever palette), Peanut Butter (creamy orange toned tan from the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly limited edition palette), and Nuts about You (red based orange terracotta from the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly limited edition palette).

My third row of my dream mattes palette would be:
Amber (burnt orange from the ColourPop Brown Sugar palette), Soothe Matte (camel from the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 palette), Maple (yellow based tannish brown from the Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eye Shadow palette ), Riff (deep camel from the Urban Decay Born to Run palette), Wake Up Call (warm sand ColourPop single shadow), Bel Air (cool taupe ColourPop sungle shadow), Sea Stars (medium yellow brown ColourPop single shadow), Good Thing (warm chestnut brown ColourPop single shadow), Extra Curricular (mid toned orange tan ColourPop Double Entendre palette), Saucy (yellow based tan from the ELF Opposites Attack palette), and the 6th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Nudes palette (deep yellow camel).

My fourth row of my dream mattes palette would be:
the 5th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Chocolates palette (mustard yellow), Yodit (dark mustard brown from the Juvia’s Place Warrior II palette), Kana (rosy dove grey from the Juvia’s Place Warrior II palette), Sandy Bum (light tones natural brown from the ELF Retro Paradise palette), Mojave Mami (mid toned sand brown from the ELF Earth and Ocean palette), Feathered (rich chocolate brown ColourPop single shadow), Finesse (deep mahogany ColourPop single shadow), Choc (reddish brown from the ColourPop Brown Sugar palette), Teddy Bare (warm mid toned brown from the ColourPop Double Entendre palette), and the 4th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Chocolates palette (rich warm red brown).

My fifth row of my dream mattes palette would be:
the 6th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Corals palette (a reddish brown), Henna (deep cool toned taupe from the ColourPop Brown Sugar palette), the 1st shade of the Juvia’s Place the Chocolates palette (deep chocolate brown), the 3rd shade of the Juvia’s Place the Chocolates palette (grey toned deep cool brown), Cloud 9 (plummy brown ColourPop single shadow), Ms. Brightside (deep red plum from the ColourPop Whatever palette), Bad Guy (true burgundy from the ColourPop Whatever palette), Jamata (deep tan based orange from the Juvia’s Place Warriro II palette), Jezebel (maroon from the Juvia’s Place Nubain II palette), and Sleeper (eggplant ColourPop single shadow).

My sixth row of my dream mattes palette would be:

My seventh and final row of my dream mattes palette would be:
Can’t Kelp It (dusty brown green from the ELF Earth and Ocean palette), Desert Storm (khaki from the ELF Earth and Ocean palette), Spruced Up (deep olive green from the ELF Earth and Ocean palette), Maasai (true vibrant green from the Juvia’s Place Warrior III palette), the 10th shade of the Juvia’s Place the Corals palette (pale dusty grey), the 2nd shade of the Juvia’s Place the Corals palette (deep grey), Calm (mid toned grey), and finally Shawata (charcoal black from the Juvia’s Place Warrior II palette).
There you have it dolls. This would be my ultimate dream all mattes palette. If I had to add 1 more color to the palette to give it an even number of shades I think I would add the shade Memory Matte (carbon black) from the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals palette so that I had the deepest black available to me for days when the charcoal black aren’t deep enough.
This challenge was fun to do and I thank Katie of KatieEmma Beauty for posting it. I do love doing tags and challenges and you should check out all of her posts for this challenge. She did an amazing job at putting together her dream palettes.
I will not be posting Day 2 until Wednesday so that I can take tomorrow to gather and swatch all of the shade for the next challenge day.
I still have makeup in the mail coming to me the first week in July so I will not be able to haul anything new for the last few days of June. With that said I still have to do my July beauty buys so I may have more than usual haul posts in the month of July.
My eye has healed almost completely there is just the slightest bit of dry skin on the upper lid and just a rough patch on the lower eye lid …. I think by Thursday it should be all better … I’ve been combating the dry and rough skin of that eye with Hyaluronic Acid serum and a bit of my night oil.
Well that’s all for now dolls…. Remember to check out Katie Emma’s blog, she really does have a great one …. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.
Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO, Nita
