Smokey Copper Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m still in some pain but feeling better than I was yesterday.

Today I am wear Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle. Let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I primed my face using Too Faced HangOveR RX Primer ($34 at Ulta and Sephora) and I also used a touch of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade 3 on the high points of the face. For foundation today I chose NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil ($13 at Ulta) in the shade Beige Camel. I contoured my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Medium/Deep. I bronzed up the face using Juvia’s Place Shade Stick Foundation ($16 at Ulta and on the Juvia’s Place website) in the shade Guinea. I concealed my under eyes using a sample of the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer ($29 at Sephora) in the shade 1N – fair with neutral undertones. I highlighted the high points of the face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Light Wand ($38 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Spotlight. I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Sephora and Ulta). I set the rest of my face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade translucent. I then added a little ColourPop Pressed Bronzer ($8 on their website) in the shade Talk to the Palm to warm up the perimeter of the face. I added ELF Metallic Flare Highlighter ($6 on their website) in the shade White Gold to the high points of my face. For touch ups I am using Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade translucent.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using AOA Studio Sculpting Brow Pencil ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows using my BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighting Pencil ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then prepped the rest of my eye lids using Revolution Makeup Cut Crease Canvas Full Coverage Eye shadow Base ($9 on their website) in the shade Illustrate (fair flesh color). I set my brow line using the Wet N Wild Color Icon Single ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (iced white – shimmer). For today’s eye look I used shades from the ELF Opposites Attract Palette ($14 on their website). I started by combining the shades Fresh (flesh toned – matte),Warm (warm mid-toned brown – satin) and Sassy (coral – matte) as my crease shade. I deepened the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using a combination of the shades Warm (warm mid-toned brown – satin) and Smooth (deep chocolate brown – matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I applied the shade Bold (deep rose gold – metallic). I then took the shade Daring (chocolate – metallic) and patted that over the demarcation between the inner 2/3 and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took a mix of Darling and the shade Spicy (golden bronze – metallic) and tapped that lightly over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid for added dimension. For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow on the lower lash line with more of the shade Warm and then tapped more of the shade Bold over the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line. I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes with a combo of the shade Low-Key (dusty white with a pearl reflect – satin) and the ELF Metallic Flare Highlighter ($6 on their website) in the shade White Gold. I lined my lower waterlines using Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner ($26 at Sephora) in the shade #74 Sunset (golden bronze- shimmer). I coated my upper and lower lashes with Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lash Mascara ($29 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Glossy Black and popped on a pair of ColourPop Falsies Faux Lashes ($8 on their website) in the shade Hunni.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I chose the ELF Cream Blush Palette ($8 on their website) in the color story Soft. I used a combo of the 2nd shade of the 1st row (pale coral) and the 1st shade of the 1st row (pale rose). I then went in with more of the ELF Metallic Flare Highlighter ($6 on their website) in the shade White Gold to lift the high points of my face a little more. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Good & Plenty (deep rose) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Parker (mid-tone warm nude – matte) and then topped off my lips using the ColourPop x Kathleen Lights Ultra Glossy Lip ($8 on their website) in the shade Moon Child (pinky nude with gold glitter).

Final Thoughts:

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer in the shade 1N

I want to change my grade of this one to a solid A+++ : Again it’s billed as a medium to full coverage, weightless concealer that perfects, hydrates and blurs, with 12 hours of crease-resistant wear that won’t crease. It claims that it flexes with skin to seamlessly conceal under eye darkness and facial imperfections with all day hydration creates a crease-resistant, natural finish.

It comes in 22 shades with 5 shades for deeper skin tones and I tried it in the shade 1N fair with neutral undertones.

Yesterday I said that this one looked look a bit crepey and that it not as hydrating and that it looks very dry when you set it with powder.

Today I tried a new method to apply and set this concealer. I used only 1 dot for each under eye and used an ELF “C” Brush to smooth out the concealer and really worked to buff it in. I then took my damp beauty sponge and pressed the loose powder over my under eyes and that left the under eye looking flawless.

I still have about maybe 2 more days worth of the sample card left and I think I will be purchasing this one on my next beauty buy day.

I grade this one a solid A++ : It’s billed as having 9 warm-toned and 9 cool-toned shades with neutral and vibrant pops of color to achieve subtle or bold looks with a lux formula is smooth, creamy, blendable and ultra-pigmented.

I had so much fun creating this look with this palette. It was easy to blend the mattes and when buffed into each other the shades did not skip or go patchy.

The metallic shades were easy to work with but had a drier formula for a metallic than most of my other palettes.

The only reason I didn’t grade this one higher is because there is no real brow bone highlight and there isn’t a deep neutral brown or even a black to get a super smokey outer corner of the eye with.

I do have other 18 pan palettes for ELF but I just wish they each had these 2 crucial shades to round out the looks better… instead of having to pull colors from other palettes.

Other then that, this palette is amazing!
