Bronzed Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. Today my wisdom tooth is giving me heaps of trouble and my energy is very low.

I’m not wearing any perfume today. Since my wisdom tooth is acting up it’s caused me a headache the scent of perfume might make me sick.

So, let’s jump into today’s Face of the Day …..

Base:

I primed my face using Good Molecules Silicone Free Priming Moisturizer ($14 on their website and also on the Beautylish website) and prepped my pores using Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta and Sephora). For foundation today I tried out BECCA Ultimate Coverage 24-HR Foundation ($44 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Cashmere 1N3. I contoured my face using NYX Wonder Stick ($12 at Ulta) in the shade Deep Dark. I color corrected using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 on their website) in the shade light/medium and then concealed my under eyes using Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 1N. I highlighted the high points of my face using the BECCA Ignite Liquified Light Highlighter ($38 on their website) in the shade Passion (pale incandescent pearl that reflects gold). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Sephora and Ulta). I set the rest of my face using BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder ($39 on their website) in the shade original (a sheer, creamy beige). I bronzed my face using the BECCA Sunlit Bronzer ($38 on their website) in the shade Ipanema Sun (medium auburn brown). For touch ups I am using Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder ($7.49 at Ulta) in the shade translucent.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using AOA Studio Sculpting Brow Pencil ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows using my BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighting Pencil ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then prepped the rest of my eye lids using Revolution Makeup Cut Crease Canvas Full Coverage Eye shadow Base ($9 on their website) in the shade Illustrate (fair flesh color). For today’s eye look I used single shadows ($4.50 each but can get a deal for $45 for 24 shades and a z palette)from the palettes I created off the ColourPop website. I set my brow line using Hear Me Out (white peach – matte). For my crease I chose the shade Top Notch (terracotta brown – matte). For the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the full crease I used the shade Facet (deep red brown – matte). I deepened 1/2 of the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease using the shade Cloud Nine (plummy brown – matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Come And Get It (duo-chrome rose with a gold flip – metallic). I then tapped the shade Sugar Sugar (icy mauve – metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. For the lower lash line I used the shade Finesse (deep mahogany – matte) and then buffed that out with the shade Good Thing (warm chestnut brown – matte). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using Liar Liar (pale pink – metallic).  I lined my lower waterlines using Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner ($26 at Sephora) in the shade #74 Sunset (golden bronze- shimmer). I coated my upper and lower lashes with Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lash Mascara ($29 at Sephora and on the Beautylish website) in the shade Glossy Black and popped on a pair of ColourPop Falsies Faux Lashes ($8 on their website) in the shade Hunni.

Cheeks and Lips:

For my blush I am wearing BECCA Mineral Blush ($32 on their website) in the shade Song Bird (peachy pink). I added a bit of BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop (soft gold with pinky-peach pearl). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($7 on their website) in the shade Curvii (warm beige) and then filled in my lips using BECCA Lush Lip Colour Balm ($22 on their website) in the shade Cafe Au Lait (peachy beige).

Final Thoughts:

Good Molecules Silicone Free Priming Moisturizer $14 for 1.7 fluid ounces of product on their website

I give this product a grade of A+++!!! : It’s billed as being formulated with macadamia seed oil, shea butter, and a naturally derived silicone alternative, this lightweight daily moisturizer works to strengthen, condition, and protect skin from environmental stress—all while creating a smooth, plumped-up canvas for flawless makeup application.

I received 2 free sample sizes of this product in my last Beautylish order. I had put it in my to try basket and never really cared to test it out.

I decided to try it today and I have got to say this is a beautiful primer! It’s super moisturizing and my base makeup went on flawlessly over this primer.

There is no scent to this primer and it doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky. It sinks into the skin fairly quickly and even though it’s a moisturizing primer it did not leave my skin feeling greasy or slippery.

I really did enjoy this product and will be purchasing the full sized when I am out of the 2 deluxe sample tubes that I have.

BECCA Ultimate Coverage 24-HR Foundation In the Shade Cashmere 1N3 $44 for 1.01 fluid ounces of product on their website

I grade this product a B++ : It’s billed as a non-acnegenic, lightweight, full-coverage foundation for 24-hour wear with a breathable, natural finish. It claims to be water and transfer resistant. It comes in 42 shades with 21 shades for deeper skin tones.

It’s an OK foundation. It’s full coverage and a little goes a very long way.

However, It emphasizes texture (even texture I didn’t know I had like on my chin).

It also feels a bit heavy and just seemed to sit on the skin and not sink in.

With that said…. I can still make this foundation work…. what I do is blend it in and then immediately spritz my face with setting spray, I wait 30 seconds and then I press my damn beauty sponge into the skin to help the foundation melt into the skin better.

This doesn’t get rid of all the texture but it does help the foundation melt into the skin some and softens the texture some.

Like I said it’s an OK foundation but I’m not wowed by it.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer In the Shade 1N $29 at Sephora and Ulta

I still grade of this one to a solid A+++ : It’s billed as a medium to full coverage, weightless concealer that perfects, hydrates and blurs, with 12 hours of crease-resistant wear that won’t crease. It claims that it flexes with skin to seamlessly conceal under eye darkness and facial imperfections with all day hydration creates a crease-resistant, natural finish.

It comes in 22 shades with 5 shades for deeper skin tones and I tried it in the shade 1N fair with neutral undertones.

I really do like this concealer I even have 1 more day’s worth of the sample card I received from Sephora.

I like it even more today because I tried a new technique that I saw on YouTube (It was one of Zabrena ‘s videos but for the life of me I can’t remember which one). What she did was blend out her concealer and then take a light spritz of setting spray and tapped that over the concealer and then set it with powder. I spritzed my beauty sponge and pressed it over my under eyes and then set my under eyes and this left this concealer looking seamlessly beautiful. I am most definitely purchasing the full size of this concealer.

BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder In the Shade Original $39 for .34 ounces of product on their website.

I would like to change my grade of this product to A+++!!! : It comes in 2 shades original (a sheer, creamy beige) and golden bronze (a soft, warm tan) I was gifted the original shade. It’s billed as a weightless setting powder that refreshes and cools the skin with all-day moisture and blurs the look of pores and fine lines. It claims to be formulated with 50% water that sets makeup while refreshing and cooling skin on contact with a mist like sensation

Yesterday I grade this product an A- because it  didn’t do most of what it claims to do. I said there is no cooling feeling, there is no mist like sensation, my face did not feel moisture at all and it does not blur the pore.

However, I tried it out again today …. using a bit more product than I used yesterday and I have to say the sensation was the coolest experience I’ve had with a face product. I understand what they mean by mist like sensation. This powder really did feel like I was buffing a setting spray into my face…. it was cooling and moisture feeling and did in fact blur my pores and fine lines. Also I did a wear test of it from yesterday and I did not need to touch up my makeup for 6 hours and even then I just needed the lightest of touch ups around my nose and no where else. I am going to purchase the full sized next month.

BECCA Lush Lip Colour Balm $22 (on sale for $13.20) on their website for .10 ounces of product. In the Shade Cafe Au Lait

I grade this product an A+++ : It comes in 8 shades and I purchased it in the shade Café Au Lait (peachy beige). It’s billed as a hydrating, tinted lip balm that nourishes and smooths with sheer, satiny-soft colour.

This is such a comfortable lip balm. It’s not to slippy, doesn’t transfer outside the lip line, and did not dry out my lips when it when it wore off. I also love the shade I chose. It’s a very pretty nude lip.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and good health.

Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO, Nita
