Olive Green Pop of Color Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night? Great I hope. I’m still not feeling good but I had more energy today so I decided to start working with some of the products from my Shop My Stash post from Saturday.

For today’s look I used the ColourPop Double Entendre Palette and the  Alter Ego Artemis Palette. Today’s perfume is Ralph Lauren Romance. The scent notes are: At the Top: Sun Goddess Rose, Ginger, Chamomile, Lychee, Mandarin Essence, Pink Pepper, Marigold, and Yellow Freesia. In the Middle: Lotus Flower, Night Blooming Day Lily, White Violet, Jasmine, Geranium, and Violet Absolute. The Scent is Rounded Out With: Patchouli, Oak moss, Exotic Wood, and Musk.

Let’s jump to the walk-through of today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I primed my face using  NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer ($16 at Ulta). I added a lilt to the face using VDL Lumilayer Primer ($32 at Ulta). I also primed my pores using ELF Poreless Putty Primer ($8 at Ulta). I contoured my face using NYX Micro-Contour Duo ($10 but currently on sale for $5 on their website) in the shade Deep. My foundation today is ELF Flawless Finish Foundation ($6 at Ulta) in the shade Sand. I bronzed my face using Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer ($32 at Sephora) in the shade Teddy. I color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in Brightening Peach. For concealer today I am using L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Concealer ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade Classic Ivory. I highlighted the high points of my face using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Spotlight (rose gold with silver light). I set my under eyes using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set the rest of my face using ELF Halo Glow Setting Powder ($8 on their website) in the color Light. I touched up the bronzer on my face using Makeup Revolution Bronzer Reloaded ($7 on their website) in the shade Take a Vacation. For touch ups I am using Pixi by Petra Color Correcting Powder ($20 at Target) in the shade #2 Nude.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using Flower Beauty Draw the Line Eyebrow Pencil ($7.99 at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed my lids using the P Louise Base ($13.07 on their website or at Morphe’s website ) in the shade Rumour. For today’s eye look I used 2 palettes: the ColourPop Double Entendre Palette (no longer in stock on their website) and the  Alter Ego Artemis Palette ($22 on their website). I started with the Artemis Palette. For my transition shade I used the shade Hunt (sun yellow – matte). For my crease shade I went into the Double Entendre Palette and used a combo of the shades: Extra Circular (mid-toned orange – matte) and Nip Slip (warm mid-toned brown – matte). I then switched to the Artemis Palette and used a combo of the shades: Quiver (neutral brown – matte), Captivate (soft brown – metallic), and Lure (deep walnut – metallic) to deepened the inner and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then went back into the Double Entendre Palette and used a combo of the shades: Hard (warm mid-toned dark brown – matte) and Teddy Bear (dark brown with a grey base – matte) to deepen up the outer edges of the inner and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took the shade Draft (dark copper – metallic) and pat that over the lines of demarcation between the middle 1/3 and the inner and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took the shade Uninhibited (mid-toned copper – metallic) and pat that over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then took a combo of: Spear (radiant green based yellow – metallic) and Scent (gold with flecks of copper – metallic) from the Artemis Palette and tapped that over the very middle of the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. For the lower lash line I again used the Double Entendre Palette and used a combo of the shades: Extra Circular (mid-toned orange – matte) and Nip Slip (warm mid-toned brown – matte) to create a deep drop shadow. I then went back to the Artemis Palette and a combo of the shades:  Thrill (soft chocolate brown – matte) and Prowl (tobacco grey toned brown – metallic) to line the lower lash line. I then wanted a bit of green in my look so I took the shade Silent (olive green – matte) and went over the lash line and then went over the edges of the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid with the same color. I then highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using the shade Keep It PG (light medium gold – metallic) from the Double Entendre Palette. I then used the Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (icy white – shimmer) to set my brow line. I then lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (this shade only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault … currently out of stock) in the shade ALT (blackened teal). I did two coats of Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes mascara ($22 at Ulta) and then lastly I popped on a pair of Alter Ego False Lashes ($5 on their website) in the style Flare.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing ColourPop Super Shock Blush ($8 on their website) in the shade Quarters (mid tone peachy coral) that I lightly set with MAC Powder Blush ($25 at MAC) in the shade Pinch O’ Peach (peachy pink). I touched up my highlighter using Jouer Powder Highlighter ($25 at Sephora) in the shade Citrine (shimmering gold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (this shade is only in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault…. currently out of stock) in the shade Oh Sis (smoked paprika). I then used 5 dots for both my upper and lower lip of Alter Ego Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6 on their website) in the shade Crush (terracotta pink) and topped that with NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on their website) in the shade Striptease (sheer nude).

Final Thoughts:

I’m still waiting on 3 of my orders from ColourPop from July 31st! I’m usually a patient person, however … after 2 emails I got 2 different excuses … the first response to my request to know why my orders hadn’t processed yet was :

Thanks for reaching out, I took a look and your order is currently processing!

Prepping your order usually takes about 3-5 business days before it ships out, business days don’t include weekends or holidays. Processing times may be extended if you ordered during a crazy launch or promo! 🙂

Once shipped, orders typically take 3-5 business days for shipping within the US (10 – 21 business days if shipping internationally).

We’ll send an email with your tracking number once it ships.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help out. 🙂

So I waited 3 more days and when I saw that an order I placed on August 6th was shipped out 3 days later I inquired again as to the why my 3 orders from July 31 still had not been processed and this was the response I recieved:

I’m so sorry for the delay with your order.

I did look into your order and it is currently processing.

As our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers, we have completely redesigned our fulfillment center to comply with state-recommended social distancing and PPE guidelines. During this time processing times will be delayed.

Our shipping team is working extra hard to get out all packages!

I understand you may be anxious, but your order will ship and you will receive a tracking confirmation as soon as it does!

I again sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you so much for your patience!

So here is what has me confused…. #1 Why would I be told that my order just hasn’t gone through the allotted time business days processing time … and then when I reach back out tell me it’s because of Covid procedures? #2 Why then, if there is a delay in processing because of their Covid procedures, did my order from August 6th only take 3 days to be pushed through whilst my order that I placed 7 full days before that is STILL pending?

I am trying to be patient because I know that we are all having a hard time right now but when I’m not getting a suitable answer to a very simple question … I start to get upset …. I am going to wait another week and if nothing has processed by then I’m just going to cancel my order and I am seriously considering not purchasing from ColourPop in the future … If I want something from them I’ll go through Ulta for now on.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

XOXO, Nita
