Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’ve created this post 8/17/20 at night to post today so that I at least had something that I could post whilst I’m healing from my RFI today.
I placed an order with Sephora that totaled $131 for 5 mini products and 1 full sized product. I chose to go with the minis because I wasn’t sure if I would like the products I chose and whenever possible if I can try out the mini before committing to a full sized product I almost always try and take that opportunity.

*Remember that all swatches are done on clean bare skin with no primer and in 1 pass, all pictures on the left are with no flash and the pictures on the right are with flash*

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder $28 at Sephora for .14 ounces of product. This setting powder is billed as a transparent, weightless powder to set under-eye concealer, brighten dark circles, and diminish the look of fine lines.

This is a full sized repurchase for me. I just love this setting powder. It truly brightens the under eyes and blurs the texture of the skin. It set’s beautifully without looking cakey or dusty.

$24 at Sephora for the mini (.04 ounces of product) and $40 at Sephora for the full sized (.15 ounces of product). This blush is billed as a groundbreaking hybrid that combines the customized lighting effects of Ambient Lighting Powder or Strobe Powder with a spectrum of breathtakingly modern hues.
It comes in 10 shades and 2 finishes. I chose Defused Heat (vibrant poppy shade)

It’s not as vibrant as I had hoped it would be but is still super pretty and I think that this will pair well with my cream blushes to lightly set my cream blushes. It also might be great on those no makeup and low maintenance days as well.

$26 at Sephora for the mini (.04 ounces of product) and $52 at Sephora for the full sized (.39 ounces of product). This bronzer is billed as an illuminating bronzer with Photo luminescent Technology, featuring bronze pigments that deliver a natural-looking, sun-kissed glow while flaunting depth and dimension.
It comes in 4 shades and I purchased it in the shade Radiant Bronze Light (a warm bronze ideal for medium/deep complexions).

This is a really pretty bronzer with just a hint of shimmer to it. The swatch felt a bit gritty (I’d imagine that’s do to the fine mica that’s in it) but it buffed into the hand smoothly.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer $15 at Sephora for the mini (.33 fluid ounces of product) and $30 at Sephora for the full size (1.52 fluid ounces of product). This primer is billed as an award-winning, hydrating, makeup-gripping gel primer that’s formulated with extracts of hemp-derived cannabis seed and blue agave that provided up to 12 hours of wear.
I tested this one on the back of my hand. It smells like aloe and has no color to it. It is extremely tacky on the skin so I have no doubt that this primer will seriously gripe foundation in place all day.

Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer $15 at Sephora for the mini (.21 ounces of product) and $28 for the full size (1 ounce of product). This cream bronzer stick is billed as a matte cream bronzer formulated with hydrating ingredients for a buildable, blendable bronze or contour for the face and body. It comes in 2 shades and I purchased it in the shade Baked.
This is a seriously pigmented creamy product that blends out wonderfully. It’s got just enough pigment and just enough sheerness to make you look naturally sun kissed .

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek $15 at Sephora for the mini (.21 ounces of product) and $28 at Sephora for the full size (1 ounce of product). This cream blush stick is billed as a two-in-one cream blush and lip color formulated with hydrating ingredients for a buildable, blendable tint. It comes in 5 shades and I purchased it in the shade Perk (coral).
This is a super sheer product that gives just a hint of color to the skin. I think this would be best for low maintenance days. I don’t think this is going to work out for a full beat face day, not even if it’s topped with a powder blush.

Once this is blended in it sheers out even further …. this is the reason I always try to purchase the mini sizes first … I would have been upset to have a full size of this product as I like my cream blushes to have nice pigmentation. I’ll test this out hopefully before the weekend is over …. but I have a feeling I’m just going to end up using it up as a lip tint.
Well that’s all dolls… It was just a small haul today … I am still waiting on 3 orders from ColourPop …. I can’t believe this is still not processed but it is what it is I guess…
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.
XOXO, Nita
I was looking at the Hourglass in vibrant Poppy also and thinking of getting the mini. Minis are definitely a good way to try something out! But even the mini Hourglass products are pricey. I was also considering the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder as a friend of mine really likes it. You are the second person I’ve known who really likes it, so even though it is pricey, I still have it on my wishlist! Thanks for posting these!

It really is the best under eye powder ever made. Its finely milled silky smooth and very lightweight

My friend says so also! I was skeptical, because the powders all seem to get in the creases, but this I’ll have to try. Thanks!

A good way to test to see if a powder is good for the under eye is to put a small amount in your palm and blow the powder into the air. If the powder floats through the air, kinda hangs in the air its a great one for the under eyes. If it immediately falls to the ground its a no-no for the under eyes. Its a messy trick but it never fails me lol
