Soft Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing OK today but am a little peeved. Our gardener cut our internet wire on the outside of the house whilst he was removing a rouge tree…. and the cable company can not come out until Tuesday morning to fix wire. With that said I will try my best to blog from the mobile app for WordPress but I can’t promise I will be able to as I find the app is a bit slow and glitchy .

Today was the start of the new shop my stash box and for today’s look I decided to test out the Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette. I did use 2 shades from the ColourPop Bare Necessities Palette but that was just the brow bone highlight and the crease shade.

Today’s scent is YSL Mon Paris. The scent notes are… At the Top: Raspberry, Bergamont, Calone (watermelon ketones designed to mimic fresh seashore nuances), Pear and Strawberry. In the Middle: White Peony, Datura (devil’s trumpets) and Orange Blossom. Rounded Out By: Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox (the part of grey amber that gives it a marine scent), Cedar Wood and Crystal Moss.

Well, let’s get tot he walk through of today’s Face of the Day ….

Base:

I primed my face using Milani Prime Perfection Primer ($9.99 at Ulta). I used a touch of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($15.99 on their website) on the high points of my face and I used the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) on my pores. I contoured my face using NYX Wonder Stick ($12 at Ulta) in Deep. For foundation today I used Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation ($47 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade #270 Bisque W.  I bronzed my face using Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (discontinued). I color corrected my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 at Ulta) in the shade Light to Medium. For concealer I used Milani Retouch + Erase Light-Lifting Concealer ($8.99) in the shade #03 Medium Light.  I highlighted the high points of my face using Believe Beauty All Over Glow ) in the shade Forbidden Kiss. I set my under eyes using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set the rest of my face using ELF Halo Glow Setting Powder ($8 on their website) in the color Light. I touched up the bronzer using BECCA Sunlit Bronzer ($38 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Ipanema Sun. For touch ups I am using ELF Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder ($6 at Ulta) in the shade Fair/Light.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using Pixi by Petra Endless Brow Gel Pen ($10.99 at Target) in the shade Deep. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then primed my lids using the P Louise Base ($13.07 on their website or at Morphe’s website ) in the shade Rumour. For today’s eye look I used the Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette ($25 at Sephora) and 2 shades from the ColourPop Bare Necessities Palette ($34 on their website). I started with the Bare Necessities and went into the shade Full Exposure (creamy vanilla – matte) to set my brow line. I then switched over to the Mini Star Palette. I used the shade  Atik (medium nude brown – matte) as my transition shade. I then used the shade Tabloid (deep caramel – matte) from the Bare Necessities Palette as my crease shade. I went back to the Mini Star Palette and used the shade Earth (dark brown – matte) to deepen my outer v of the crease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid I created a deep soft focus cut crease using more of the P Louise Base ($13.07 on their website or at Morphe’s website ) in the shade Rumour. I then used the shade Orion (green-brown duo-chrome) to cover the full cut crease and then used a touch of the shade Bellatrix (nude – metallic) on just the upper part of the inner rim of the cut crease. I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes using BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop. For the lower lash line I used whatever was left on the transition and crease brushes to create a drop shadow and then whatever was left on the outer v of the crease brush to deepen my lash line. I tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault – currently out of stock) in the shade ALT (blackened teal). I then went in with the shade Cosmo (golden olive – metallic) and tapped that over the outer edge of the cut crease to melt the demarcation line away. I coated my upper and lower lashes in 1 coat of Believe Beauty Hi Definition Skinny Mascara and popped on a pair of Alter Ego False Lashes ($5 on their website) in the style Flare.

Cheeks and Lips:

For blush today I am wearing NYX Bare With Me Cannabis Jelly Cheek Color ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Coral Dream. I set the blush lightly with Tarte 12 Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Captivating (bright peach). I touched up my highlighter using BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade BFF (warm nude) and then topped off the lips with ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Cookie (warm brown nude – matte).

Final Thoughts:

Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette $25 at Sephora

I grade this palette a solid A+++ !!!! : It’s billed as being  inspired by the Star Eyeshadow Palette featuring five shades from the existing Natasha Denona Star Palette. These shadows are long-lasting, with strong color payoff, thanks to a high percentage of pure pigments. Extremely buildable and blendable, these shades will not crease, and they easily adhere to the eye, even without using primer.

I love this Natasha Denona Palette!!! particularly the shade Orion (the brown/blue duo-chrome shade). Pictures do not do this palette nor this shade justice! The shadows are buttery and highly pigmented. They blend and buff well and do not go patchy and do not skip. They also did not have much fallout however they did have very much kickback in the pans. I loved each color so much that I wish I would have purchased the bigger Star palette.

I am so looking forward to the fall time … there are many warm smokey and full glam looks I have swirling around in my head that I just can’t wait to create!!!

Well that’s all for now dolls …. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits and health.

XOXO, Nita
