Trash Talk Tuesday – Empties August 2020

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m having a pretty intense pain day so I’m taking the day off from makeup.

Honolulu Sun Gentle Foaming Hand Soap $8.50 at Bath and Body Works

I grade this hand soap a solid A+++ !!!

I really truly loved this scent! The scent notes are :

  • Top Notes: Coconut, Ocean Air Accord, Pacific Palm, and Citrus
  • Middle Notes: Coconut Milk, Island Nectars, and Pink Passion Fruit
  • Finishing Notes: Driftwood and White Sand Musk

This was such an amazing scent … very summery and the scent lingered for a while. I really wish they made this scent in a candle. I do remember they use to sell the body mist in this scent but I never purchased it.

Black Chamomile and Bergamot Gentle Foaming Soap $7.50 at Bath and Body Works

I grade this hand soap a solid B –

This soap is simplistic … the two scent notes are just as the title says Black Chamomile and Bergamot.

It was a nice scent but about 1/2 through the bottle I was already wanting to be done with it.

I also felt like this soap was a bit more drying than the regular foaming soap line.

NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray $8.50 at Ulta

I grade this setting spray a solid A++!!!

It’s billed as a fresh make up look that lasts and is lightweight and comfortable while working hard to make sure your makeup stays put and claims to give you a dewy fresh glow finish.

I really enjoyed this setting spray. The nozzle is super fine so I never got splotches of mist on my face, even as the spray got to the last bits of liquid.

I would repurchase this one again …. I do have tons of setting spray that I’m working through but once it’s time to re-stock my setting sprays I will add this one to my cart.

ELF Makeup Mist & Set The one on the left is $7 for 4.1 fluid ounces and the one on the right is $5 for 2.2 fluid ounces on their website.

ELF Jelly Pop Watermelon Cleanser $8 for 3.3 fluid ounces at Ulta

I grade this cleanser a solid B-

It’s billed as a gel cleanser can be used all over the face and eyes to melt away stubborn makeup and cleanse the skin, leaving your face clean, plump, and hydrated.

I loved the way it smelled but didn’t really ever feel like it cleansed my face all the way.

I also felt like there was still cleanser residue left on my face after rinsing this one away.

This is not one I will ever repurchase. I prefer my cleansers to foam up and even though I’ve tried gel cleansers in the past this one just didn’t measure up.

Holifrog Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash $36 for 5 fluid ounces on the Beautylish website

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Cover Concealer *DISCONTINUED*

I grade this concealer a solid A++

I truly loved this concealer …. so sad that it’s been discontinued. It was smooth and creamy and never settled into fine lines.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand $38 for .40 fluid ounces at Sephora

I grade this contour a solid A+++!!!

It’s billed as a soft-focus, semi-matte contour wand with sponge applicator.

This is my all time favorite cream contour! A very little goes a very long way. I squeeze just a dot out and that is enough to contour my whole face. It’s not too grey toned and always looks perfect.

I have already repurchased this one and will continue to do so.

BH Studio Pro Eyebrow Highlighter *DISCONTINUED*

I grade this pencil a solid A+++!!!

I am so sad that this pencil is discontinued! If I had known that it was being discontinued I would have stocked up on this one!

I have a new one open and 7 in stock. Now I’ll have to go on the hunt for a new brow highlighter.

Pixi by Petra Endless Brow Gel Pen $11 on their website

I grade this brow pencil a solid B++

It’s billed as a hybrid-formula brow gel pens shade & shape in one step, making it effortless to get perfect brows.

I thought this pencil was OK. It was a bit hard to work over bare and sparse areas, it would skip and difficult to lay down on bare areas. It smeared like crazy and would brake down if even the slightest amount of water got on it. I’m glad I tried it but will not be repurchasing it.

Flower Beauty Draw The Line Eyebrow Pencil $7.99 for .007 ounces of product at Ulta

I grade this brow pencil a solid B+

It’s billed as being perfect for everyday wear, smudge-resistant, long-lasting formula with vitamin E, and brows stay put all day with an untraceable finish.

It was difficult to lay down over sparse and bare areas but once I was able to get it to lay down it lasted all day.

The point on this one is thick so hair like strokes were not happening. It was also difficult to get a precise arch because of how thick the point is.

It was fun to try but I will not be repurchasing this one either.

Believe Beauty Brow Defining Pencil $4 only at Dollar General

I grade this pencil a solid A

It’s billed as a creamy, smooth tipped pencil is perfect for adding definition and color to your brows. Perfect for creating a natural or bold brow look in two easy steps.

I really did like the look of my brows with this gel/pomade hybrid pencil. I just didn’t like that I had to sharpen it so often. It did leave my brows looking snatched and I really enjoyed it. It was long lasting and never gave me trouble over the sparse and bare areas.

I will repurchase this pencil once I’ve used up my brow pencil stock.

XOXO, Nita
