Mauve Soft Glam Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. My mood has improved but I’m having a moderately high pain day. Well, at least I have some energy today.

For today’s look I used the ColourPop Making Mauves Palette ($14 on their website).

Today’s scent is Michael Kors Sexy Blossom. The scent notes are:

  • Top Notes: Lychee, Rose and Dewy Leaves.
  • Middle Notes: Peony, Lily of the Valley, Pink Orchid, and Freesia.
  • Bottom Notes: Ambrox (synthetic musky-ambery odor of Ambergris … a grey amber), Sandalwood and Musk.

Time to go through the walk through of today’s Face of the Day …..

Base:

I primed my face using Milani Prime Perfection Face Primer ($9.99 at Ulta). I used a touch of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($15.99 on their website) on the high points of my face and I used the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) on my pores. I contoured my face using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Deep. For foundation today I used Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation ($39 at Ulta) in the shade 40NN (light/medium neutral) …. I also mixed a bit of white foundation adjuster in to get the perfect shade for me.  I bronzed my face using Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (discontinued) in the shade Universal Tan.  I color corrected my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 at Ulta) in the shade Light to Medium. For concealer I used the Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer ($26 at Sephora) in the shade #110 (for very fair skin w/ cool pink undertones). I highlighted the high points of my face using Believe Beauty All Over Glow in the shade Forbidden Kiss. I set my under eyes using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 at Ulta and Sephora). I set the rest of my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I touched up the bronzer using HourGlass Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($52 at Sephora) in the shade Radiant Bronze Light (Ideal for medium/deep complexions). For touch ups I am using ELF Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder ($6 at Ulta) in the shade Fair/Light.

Eyes:

I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 only at Dollar General Stores) in clear and then filled in my bows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using P Louise Base ($13.07 on their website or at Morphe’s website ) in the shade Rumour. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Making Mauves Palette ($14 on their website). I first set my brow line using Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Shadow ($.99 at Walgreens) in the shade Sugar (icy white – shimmer). For my transition I used a combo of the shades Solitaire (soft mauvematte) and Big Moves (soft lilac – matte). I also decided to pat this over my mobile lid as a base for the metallic shades. For my crease and the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Big Fig (mid-tone dusty lavender – matte). For my outer v of the crease I used the shade Marquee (muted plum – matte). For the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lids I used a combo of the shades Mauve On Top (icy rose – metallic) and A La Mode (true mauve with pinpoints of silver and copper pearlmetallic). For the bottom lash line I used whatever was left on the brushes I used for my transition, crease, and outer v of the crease to add soft dimension to the lash line. I tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencil Vault – currently out of stock on their website) in the shade Ex Factor (bright berry). I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes using the shade Bi-coastal (pink ivory – metallic). I coated my lashes in Believe Beauty Hi-Definition Skin Mascara ($4.50 only at Dollar General Stores) and pooped on a pair of Alter Ego False Lashes ($5 on their website) in the style Plush.

Cheeks and Lips:

For my cheeks today I chose Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush ($20 at Sephora) in the shade #06 Daiquiri Dip (soft coral red). I set that lightly using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta) in the shade Captivating (bright peach). To touch up my highlighter I used BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop (soft gold with pinky-peach pearl). I lined and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Pencils Vault – currently out of stock on their website) in the shade Lumiere (dusty mauve pink) and topped my lips with ColourPop Lippie Stix (only available in the Big Box of Lippie Stix Vault – currently out of stock on their website) in the shade Happy Thoughts (deep rosy mauve – matte).

Final Thoughts:

I think I am officially in a fall state of mind because I am loving the mauves and berries and rusty oranges and browns this month.

Since I’m in this much pain today I think I’ll make pasta for dinner. I have an idea for a new type of sauce to try …. if it turns out good I’ll do a mini post about it.

Being on a no buy has been really freeing …. and I’ve been loving really getting to use older products in my collection … there are a few new releases I am keen to try but I’ll wait till January to try them… when I do purchase again I wont do first impressions since they will have been out for a bit but I will do a review on what I think about them.

Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

XOXO, Nita
