Pass or Purchase 2021 Episode 2 : ColourPop

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m very much still in a world of pain.

I spent the little bit of energy I had decluttering makeup whilst I was going over this year’s makeup inventory (I’ll be doing a rapid fire declutter post soon.)

I decided to release my newest episode of Purchase and Pass since I had a lot of time on my hands since I’m not doing my makeup today.

The first episode is titled Pass or Purchase 2021 Episode 1 : Makeup Revolution and BH Cosmetics

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time than you know about my love for this brand. They are great quality at reasonable prices and almost always knock it out of the park for me.

ColourPop has released many new collections lately (something they are known for).

Valentine’s Day collections Love Me Love Me Not 🌟

There are 2 value sets: (from left to right and up and down )

The collection is offered in 2 value sets and as individual items….

  • The first value set is called Love Me Not, retails for $114 and has a value of $121. The full Valentine’s Day collection set includes all 3 new 5-pan palettes, 3 blush compacts, the Pink Heart Face Stamp, the Heart to Heart Hand Mirror, the All Nighter Mini Fourth Ray Skincare Kit, and SOL Body Pink Truffle Shimmering Dry Oil and Face & Body Highlighter.
  • The second value set is called Love Me, retails for 70 and has a value of $77. This makeup collection set includes all 3 5-pan eyeshadow palettes, 3 blush compacts, the Pink Heart Face Stamp, and the Heart to Heart Hand Mirror.

Both of the value sets are a PASS for me. I don’t need that much pink and red themed makeup and there are some things offered that I’m just not interested in.

Other Sets Offered: (from left to right and up and down )

  • All Nighter Mini Skincare Kit, retails for $24 making each item offered $6 a piece. It’s billed as the perfect on-the-go skincare kit for your next all nighter! Includes nourishing Rose essentials in the cutest travel bag. Includes our Rose Overnight Lip Mask for super soft lips by morning, AM to the PM Gel Cleanser to wash away dirt & impurities first thing in the AM, Rose Face Milk to soften, nourish, & moisturize dry, tired skin, and Fresh AF Energizing Mist to awaken & refresh skin after a long night.

I’m very particular with my skincare and have worked very hard to curate the perfect for me regimen, this set is a PASS for me.

  • Through the Phone Eye & Cheek Set, retails for $18.50 and has a value of $20 making each item $9.25. This set is billed as being able to create a flirty hot pink look with the 143 Palette and complete your look with a warm true pink blush.

Darn it I really love both of them but I don’t want anymore palettes with pressed glitters and this set is currently sold out anyway… even if it wasn’t this would still be a PASS.

  • Love Letter Eye & Cheek Set, retails for $18.50 and has a value of $20 making each item $9.25 each. This set is billed as being able to create the perfect romantic look with warm pink eyes and burnt red blush.

Darn it I wish I would have been quicker at purchasing from this collection. This set is sadly out of stock however if it was available it would be a 100% PURCHASE for me. With a light hand that blush would make a stunning kissed by the sun shade to the cheeks.

  • Double Truffle Sol Body Oil & Highlighter set, retails for $18.50 and has a value of $20 making each item $9.25. This set is billed as the Pink Truffle duo with pale baby pink glow with gold shimmers that complete your romantic look.

I’m not into body shimmers at all even though I do think that the swatches I have seen of both products are beautiful however for me this is a PASS.

There are a few eyeliners offered, 1 of which is a repromoted item : (from left to right and up and down )

  • Pink Heart Face Stamp, retails for $8 and is billed as Super long-wearing QT Mark Face Stamps deliver the perfect true warm pink stamp that lasts.

I’m not a fan of face stamps. ColourPop offers 3 matte black face stamps, a 1/2 moon, a star and a heart but I’m just the wrong demographic for this trend. This stamp is a PASS for me.

  • BFF Liquid Liner in the shade Ducky (bright bubblegum pink), retails for $8 and is billed as an ultra-fine felt tip liquid eyeliner that delivers intense pigmentation in one easy swipe.

I purchased 2 of their liquid liners and they are just a mess. They don’t go on even, they streak, they are no where pigmented enough and you have to layer up to get a solid payoff which causes them to crack, it’s a hard PASS for me.

  • BFF Liquid Liner in the shade Try Me (bright red) repromote, retails for $8 and is billed as an ultra-fine felt tip liquid eyeliner that delivers intense pigmentation in one easy swipe.

I own this shade. It’s beautiful in the swatch but again it is steaky, not very pigmented and cracks. I wish I never purchased it but will continue to try and make it work because the shade is stunning.

The Individual Items In This Collection

The Eyeshadow Palettes In This Collection: (from left to right and up and down )

Each palette retails for $10 and has (5) .03 ounce pans making them $2.00 per shade.

Swak is billed as a nude pink 5-pan palette with a mix of sparkling metallics and rich mattes to create the perfect date night look.  The shades are: besos: metallic pale gold with pink pinpoints, smooch: sequin matte pinky nude with pink and gold pinpoints, xx: metallic pinky rose gold, canoodle: deep matte rose and mack*: deep matte red.

This is a freaking stunning palette and I have nothing like it. It would create a sophisticated Valentine’s Day look and yet is still versatile enough that it can be worn on a date night as well. This is a 100 % PURCHASE for me.

Melt 4 U is billed as a warm pink 5-pan palette is sweeter than a box of chocolate! Create the sweetest looks with a mix of metallic and matte shadows perfect for your everyday look. The shades are: bonbon: metallic soft peachy pink, sweetie: matte yellow pink, dipped: metallic pink with a gold shift, ganache: sequin matte mid-tone warm pink with pinpoints of hot pink and gold pearl and dutch*: matte warm rose.

Whilst the palette as a whole is very stunning I have shade that resemble the first 3 so I can not justify purchasing this palette just for the last 2 shades. Sadly this one is a PASS for me.

143 is billed as a hot pink 5-pan shadow palette. Let this mixed finish palette spell it out for you, you’ll love the rich pops of color, iridescent glitter, and vibrant metallics. The shade are: aww: metallic pale baby pink, qt*: matte cool toned soft pink, my boo*: pressed glitter pale baby pink with opalescent rainbow glitter flecks, loml*: sequin matte sparkle cool hot pink with hot pink and silver pearl, luv*: metallic fuchsia.

Here we go again… another useless pressed glitter in an other wise stunning palette! If that 3rd shade was anything other than a pressed glitter I would be all over this palette… but since it is this palette is a PASS for me. (I have changed my mind about this palette, I left my original thought about it because that’s how I felt in the moment however, I watched a TikTok where this palette was used and they used NYX Glitter Glue before applying the pressed glitter and not only did it apply more uniformly but it did not have any fall out…. I change my mind this is a 100 % PURCHASE for me.)

The lippies in this collection: (from left to right and up and down )

  • Lux Gloss in the shade Check In (warm mauve with a silver sheen), retails for $8 and is billed as cushiony soft lip gloss delivers obsession worthy shine and hydrates lips with the best feel-good antioxidants for your best looking lips.

AS you can see in the picture this is super milky and pale, to me makes the lips look like you are oxygen deprived, hard PASS for me.

  • Lippie Stix in the shade Red Pocket (true red) repromote shade, retails for $7 and is billed as one swipe pigmentation in a blur finish in a super creamy and comfortable formula loaded with skin-loving ingredients like shea butter and Vitamin E.

  • My Type (warm true pink) is pretty but just not the right shade of pink for me… it’s a PASS

This palette is sublime! Kristi did a wonderful job and curating an amazingly sophisticate yet sultry color story! The Lux Glosses : each retail for $9 and are billed as cushiony soft lip gloss delivers obsession worthy shine and hydrates lips with the best feel-good antioxidants for your best looking lips.

  • Wildflower – soft pinky nude

I wish this shade had more pigment because the shade in the picture above is so pretty but on the swatches there is barely any pigment… it’s a PASS.

  • Glacier – icy ivory with silver pinpoints

Again, this shade barely has any pigment and I’m just not in the market for another clear lip gloss so this is a PASS.
