February 2021 Haul #6 ColourPop, Ulta and Sephora

Hey doll hey!! How have you been? Great I hope. I’m definitely on the mend. I still get a bit dizzy and a bit groggy but I’m able to stay awake the whole day so that’s good. My RFI treatment has worn off and so my lower back is on fire with pain. I get to have a new RFI treatment next month so I’ll be on the mend again shortly.

I received 3 of  my makeup orders today so I’m hauling them for you now. This is the 6th haul of February 2021, in case you missed the other hauls they are :

February 2021 E.L.F. Makeup Haul , February 2021 Haul#2 BH Cosmetics February 2021 Haul #3 ColourPop , February 2021 Haul #4 ColourPop  and February 2021 Haul #5 ColourPop.

*As always… All products listed I purchased myself, all links provided are purely for convenience purposes to help you find the product quickly and are in no way affiliate links. The swatches are done on clean bare skin with no primer and are done in 1 swipe, pictures to the left/top are taking without flash and the right/bottom with flash*

First up … ColourPop: This is part of the ColourPop x Animal Crossings collab.

ColourPop X Animal Crossing Pick of the Bunch Lip Tint Mini Kit $12 for 0.08 ounces of product on their website making each shade $6.

From left to right the shades are: Incom-pear-able ( satin warm dark peach- smells like fruit loops) and Coconut Juice  (sheer warm berry based brown smells like coconut).

This lip tints are billed as  nude Mini Lip Tints feature the shades Coconut Juice and Incom-pear-able!

What I learned from these swatches …. I didn’t realize that they would be 2 different formulas. That’s not a bad thing but I expected them to both be sheer. I’m happy that the peach one is a satin because I love peach lips with a smokey eye. The scent in both of these lippies is yummy and not at all offensive. I left the swatches on for a bit to see if they would fade and they did not. They were east to remove as well. These lippies are the kind you turn the bottom for to get more product and not the kind you have to sharpen.

ColourPop X Animal Crossing Flower Tender Pressed Powder Blush $12 for 0.21 ounces of product on their website.

Flower Tender is a vibrant coral with gold pinpoints and is billed as the perfect natural flush of colour in a soft and buildable powder blush.

What I learned from this swatch… This powder blush is finely milled and creamy. It was easy to remove and is the perfect shade of coral. The pan did not get hard pan when I swatched it telling that this is a finely milled blush.

ColourPop X Animal Crossing True Friends Shadow Palette Kit $48 for (4) 4 PAN Palettes there is no savings in purchasing the set for this collab,.  Each palette in 0.1
2 ounces of product on their website (I forgot to take a picture of the 4 palettes together so I’m using the picture from their website)
  • All 4 palettes has 1 matte, 1 sequin matte, 1 metallic, and 1 pressed glitter.
  • What I learned from swatching these palettes… These had got to be the cutest palettes they have ever released (after the Mandalorian the Child palette that is). The metallics in these palettes are a tad bit flakey, the mattes are very creamy, the glitters are very pigmented and reflective…. the glitters in sequin mattes are reflective and do translate to the skin and do not fall all over the place. The pressed glitters and sequin mattes were easy to remove without having any residue left behind.

The palettes in this bundles are:

5 Star Island palette is billed as new palette featuring Isabelle, our favorite island assistant! This 4-pan palette is full of pastel pinks and a pop of yellow in a range of finishes to create the sweetest look.

  • My Ulta Haul

The first picture is the Ulta makeup I received in the mail, the second picture is the items I purchased in store because I purchased the wrong shade of one of the foundations and they do not sell that foundation in store so I just returned it and purchased 3 items in it’s place.

ColourPop Blush Stix $8 for 0.28 ounces of product at Ulta and on the ColourPop website.

This blush stick is billed on the ColourPop website as an instant flush with our easy-to-use, lightweight, hydrating blush stick. Glides on effortlessly and blends like a dream, just dab, blend, and glow and comes in 6 shades on at Ulta and 9 shades on the ColourPop website. I purchased the shade Under Pressure(bright salmon) .

What I learned by swatching this blush stick: There is no scent to this product. It’s super creamy and dries down to a soft powdery finish. I left the swatch on for 10 minutes and wrapped my hand with one of masks and the blush did not budge. It was easy to remove and stayed a satin finish.

I didn’t swatch these 3 times because the brow pencil I’m not ready to use and the other 2 items wouldn’t really show up as anything in a swatch.

  • The first item is Revolution Pro Define and Fill Brow Pencil $8 for 0.004 ounces of product at Ulta and is billed on their website as an ultra fine brow pencil creates the most convincing hair-like strokes for a natural and soft looking brow. The weighted component sits comfortably in the hand in order to support precise application, letting you be in control of your own brows and come sin 3 colors of which I purchased Dark brown. This is one of my favorite brow pencils.
  • The next item is Pattern Clarifying Shampoo $20 FOR 7.8 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and is billed on the Ulta as being great for curlies, coilies & tight textures when you need a fresh start and removes build-up, revives the scalp and gives hair a fresh start without stripping away the healthy oils of your tresses. The formula features antioxidant-rich Matcha Green Tea, Aloe Vera and Panthenol to promote strong hair. A deep clean can be especially helpful for low porosity hair types wanting to keep their cuticle open to receiving moisture. I’m on a curly girl journey and haven’t clarified my hair in such a long time that it was time for me to refresh my hair.
  • The last item is ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Spray $12 for 3.72 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and is billed on their website as a micro-fine, refreshing setting mist that hydrates skin and refreshes your makeup and revives your skin with the micro-fine mist that applies a refreshingly light veil over the skin, leaving you with a fresh, healthy looking glow, wear it over pretty fresh hyaluronic tinted moisturizer to enhance your dewy look or wear it over setting powder to revive your skin. I’ve used this spray before it smells heavenly, like the beach and gives a great glow to the face. It’s not the longest lasting setting spray but it does melt the powder products into the face seamlessly, and that is truly the only reason I use setting spray so it’s a win for me.

Makeup Revolution Prime and Lock Eye Primer $9 for 0.2 fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

This primer is billed as creating the ultimate base for eyeshadow looks that are going nowhere (until you say so)! This lightweight creamy formula with a hint of light beige tint, creates a super smooth and even-toned canvas. Use as a base under powder or cream eyeshadows to help the pigments pop and prevent creasing and fade. This is the only shade for this primer and it doesn’t have a name.

What I learned with this swatch: This is thinner than their Cut Crease Canvas eye primer and has a doe foot rather than a brush applicator (like the Cut Crease). It doesn’t dry down making it great to really lock your eye shadows in place longer.

Beauty Bakerie Insta Bake Aqua Glass Foundation $34 for 0.9fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

This foundation is billed as being inspired by the elegance and minimalistic approach to beauty that Japan is known for, Beauty Bakerie’s lightweight vegan InstaBake Aqua Glass Foundation is a force to be reckoned with! Rightfully named InstaBake, this full coverage formula effortlessly covers anything left in its wake. Delivering extraordinary performance, it applies smoothly like a layer of frosting and comes in 30 shades with 15 shades for deep to medium deep and 15 shades form medium to fair and I purchased 339 neutral (it’s the shade that Ulta’s shade finder chose for me, it was way to dark as you can see so I took it back to Ulta and since they do not carry the foundation in store I ended up returning it and purchasing a few new things. I did order replacement foundation on the Beauty Bakerie website).

What I learned from this swatch: This foundation is creamy and dewy and a little goes a long way. It’s a thicker foundation so a sponge would work best and I left the swatch on for 10 minutes and it did not oxidize.

Beauty Bakerie Insta Bake 3 in 1 Concealer $20for 0.19 fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

This concealer is billed as the Italian approach to beauty emphasizes “no stress” as the key to a flawless complexion. Beauty Bakerie’s InstaBake Concealer not only applies and blends effortlessly, but the finish it leaves behind is one of effortless beauty. Perfect to hide dark circles and scarring, Beauty Bakerie InstaBake 3-in-1 Concealer does the work of your favorite skin smoothing apps. Fortified with water-binding cassava, the under-eye area will be smoothed, soothed, and hydrated. Relax and allow “la dolce vita,” or “the sweet life,” in a bottle to work for you and it come in 18 shades with 8 for darker shades and 10 for light and medium shades. I purchased 017 Frappe Hour.

What I learned from this swatch: This concealer feels like a thick serum. It’s very silky and very pigmented. It does not oxidize and a very little goes a very long way. Laura Mer

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating $39 for 1.7 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora.

The silicone-free, breathable formula seals in skincare and creates a protective barrier that extends makeup wear. Packed with skin-loving ingredients, the primer not only protects skin but is also good for skin. The Illuminating Primer visibly creates a glow from within. A blend of Micronized Pearls reflects natural luminosity while Porcelain Flower Extracts promote long term radiance.

What I learned from this swatch: This primer is very light and silky and has a slight tint to it… it’s comparable to the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter. There is no glitter in this primer either.

Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation $48 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and Sephora.

I chose the shade 2N1Cashew (light with neutral undertones).

What I’ve learned from this swatch: This is a serum like foundation, very thin but very pigmented. It did not oxidize and 1/2 pump was enough to cover the back of my hand and up to my semicolon project tattoo on my wrist. This is a satin finish foundation. I can’t wait to try this one out.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer $29 for 0.23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora.

This concealer is billed as a medium to full coverage, weightless concealer that perfects, hydrates and blurs, with 12 hours of crease-resistant wear with coverage that wont crease and flexes with skin to seamlessly conceal under eye darkness and facial imperfections. All-day hydration creates a crease-resistant, natural finish. It claims to be incredibly lightweight formula feels undetectable on skin, while the Blurring Powder Blend diffuses light to smooth the look of fine lines and create a soft-focus effect.

What I have learned with this swatch: This concealer is very hydrating, doesn’t oxidize, is very pigmented and does not set down…. this one defiantly needs to be set.

NARS Air Matte Blush $30 for 0.21 ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora.

This cream blush is billed as a unique mousse blush that transforms into a velvety powder for a weightless, cloud-like wash of cheek color, a perfectly diffused, soft-touch matte blush with a thrill of color. Uniquely lightweight, creamy mousse formula transforms into a velvety powder right on contact-instantly gliding a rush of blush. Color Diffusion Complex beautifully blends and blurs for second-skin color that lasts, while Jojoba gel smooths pigment evenly over skin and passionfruit oil adds a boost of antioxidants. A hush of color. Plush to the touch. A rush for the senses and comes in 4 shades at Ulta and 7 shades at Sephora… I chose the shade Orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer).

What I learned from this swatch: This is a very unique formula. It’s creamy but transforms into a velvety texture. I think this is going to melt into the cheeks perfectly. I’ll have to keep you posted.

BECCA Cosmetics Ultimate Lipstick Love $24 for 0.12 ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora.

BECCA’s Ultimate Lipstick Love is infused with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and smooth, plus moisturizing olive and avocado oils to soften. Lips are nourished and drenched in illuminated colour with a satin finish and it comes in 30 shades. I purchased the shade Poppy (warm coral red) and I already own the shade Tulip (warm pinky coral) and am wanting to pick up the shade Blaze (cool pinky coral).

I didn’t learn anything from this swatch because I already own one in this line so it has the same texture, it’s creamy, smells like vanilla and is super high pigment.

Flower Beauty Blush Bomb Color Drops $9.99 for 0.3 fluid ounces of product at Ulta.

This cream blush is billed as way to give your cheeks a fresh healthy glow in an instant! Each drop of the FLOWER Beauty Blush Bomb Color Drops is silky and has a lightweight formula that blends seamlessly for a perfect finish every time. This buildable and natural-looking blush is available in universally flattering shades that wear beautifully on all skin tones and comes in 6 shades. I purchased the shade Melon (coral) and I really want to get the shades Pinched (nude pink) and Nectar (warm peach).

What I learned form this swatch: First of all you have to be very careful squeezing this blush cause if not you will get a huge blob like I did. I also learned that this is a sheer blush with high pigment… what I mean is it’s thin and the pigment is rich. It does not set down so you will need to set it but it gives the skin a dewy look.

Maybelline Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush $7.99 for 0.27 ounces of product.

This cream blush is billed as a sheer flush of color instantly with this oil-free, water-based formula that glides onto the skin leaving behind a soft natural-looking dewy finish. Infused with soft colorful pigments for a buildable blush that you can tone up or down for a natural flushed effect. Simply layer it for the blush look you love and come sin 6 shades. I purchased Coral Ember (true coral). I want to purchase the shade Nude Burn (coral pink).

What I learned about this swatch: This is a very subtle blush with a serum like texture to it. It’s not super pigmented so it’s perfect for low maintenance or no makeup days. I do have some reservations about this one… I think because of it’s formula it might lift products underneath …I’ll update you once I’ve tried it out.

  • My Sephora Haul.

The first 4 items I did not swatch … the primer you wont be able to see, the Olaplex wouldn’t benefit from a swatch, the setting spray again wouldn’t benefit from a swatch and the brush cleaner I really didn’t want to open just yet.

This bronzer is billed as a travel size of the award-winning Laguna Bronzer Powder, the gold standard. In the shade Laguna (diffused brown with golden shimmer).

What I learned about this swatch: The first thing I learned is that this is a hard pressed powder… as you can see in the photos about I got hard pan from swatching with my finger, no big deal I can just take a spoolie and scratch that hard pan down. The second thing I learned is that this bronzer leaves the prettiest sheen on the skin. I cant wait to to try this out on the face.

What I learned from this swatch: This coral lipstick is a full on high intensity coral… perfect for the spring. The texture has a good slip to it so that means it wont dry the lips out. It did give me a bit of trouble getting it off the back of my hand since it’s so highly pigmented.

Urban Decay Naked Wild West Eyeshadow Palette $49 for 0.36 ounces of product (0.03 ounces per shade) making it $1.63 per shade. There are 12 shades in this palette.

I would go out on a limb and say this is their best palette yet! The color story is heavenly and cohesive and I did not notice kick back in the pans or fallout as I applied the finger swatches.
