Gold Smokey Eye Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m feeling a bit better today. I’m not as fatigued today and my pain level is about the same as yesterday.

Today was the first day I used my shop my stash box. It’s kind of freeing not having to figure out what to use for the day.

After this week I’ll be using my decision app to pick my makeup for the next weeks.

Well… let’s get to the walk through of today’s Gold Smokey eye look…..

Today’s Scent Is:

Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Parfum ($102 for 1.6 fl oz at Sephora and Ulta) was launched in 2016 and has a Fruity Feminine scent.

Top Notes: Strawberry Pear, Orange, Raspberry, Tangerine, Bergamot and Calone ( also called watermelon ketone, is the perfume ingredient that is responsible for many of the ocean breeze fragrances available for women and men).

Heart Notes: Peony, Chinese Jasmine, Datura, Jasmine Sambac and Orange Blossom.

Base Notes: Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla, Ambroxan, Moss, Cedar, White Musk and Patchouli.

My thoughts on this scent: I always feel so sophisticated when I wear this scent. It’s such a lovely scent really and is just playful enough to pair with a pair of jeans, a tank top and flip flops and sassy enough to wear with a little black dress and heels.

Eyes and Brows:

Today I used my Uoma Beauty Brow-Fro Baby Hair Precision Brow Pencil ($22 for 0.06 g/ 0.002 ounces on the Beautylish website and at Ulta) in the shade 6. I then carved out my brow line and prepped my eye lids using Juvia’s Place I Prep, I Prime Eye Primer ($12 for 12 mL/ 0.41 oz at Ulta) in the shade 1. For today’s look I used the L.A.Girl Good Times And Tan Lines 16 Color Eyeshadow Palette ($15.99 for 35 g/ 1.23 oz of total product, making it $0.99 a shade at Ulta). I started by setting the primer from lash line to brow line using the shade SPF(vanilla beige – matte). For my transition I used the shade Tan Lines (tan – matte). I then used the shade Tropi-cool (mid-toned red based brown – matte) for the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. For the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Sunkissed (copper – metallic). For the inner 1/3 I used the shade  XOXO (peach with a coral flip – metallic). I then went in with a combo of the single shadow pans from ColourPop called Cloud Nine (plummy brown – matte) and Let’s Do It (blackest black – matte) on the outer 1/2 of the outer v of the crease. For the Lower lash line I first used the shade Take Me (deep chocolate brown – metallic) and then I used the shade Tan Lines (tan – matte) to buff the lash line out. I then used what was left of the ColourPop combo on the brush to deepen the outer 1/2 of the lower lash lines. I lined my lower water lines using the shade #15 (true metallic bronze) from the The Handaiyan Eyeliner Set  from my amazon haul.

Complexion:

I primed my face using Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating ($39 for 1.7 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora). For my cream contour I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Stick ($25 for 0.35 oz at Ulta) in the shade Mink (contour toasted almond). I bronzed the perimeter of my face using Huda Beauty Tantour Contour & Bronzer Cream ($30 for 0.42 ounces of product at Sephora) in the shade Light ( fair to light with cool undertones). My cream blush today is Rare Beauty by Selina Gomez Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush ($21 for 0.17 ounces of product at Sephora) in the shade Nearly Apricot (muted coral) and for my cream highlight I used the bareMinerals Barepro Glow Highlighter Liquid Highlighter ($29 for 0.5 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Free (pale gold with icy pearls).  For foundation I used Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation ($48 for 1 fluid ounce of product at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 2N1 Cashew (light with neutral undertones). I color corrected my under eyes using Flower Beauty CHILL OUT SMOOTHING COLOR CORRECTOR ($10 for 0.16 ounces of product on their website) in the shade Light Peach and then concealed my under eyes with just a dot of Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer ($29 for 0.23 fluid ounces of product at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade N1 (fair with neutral undertones).

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

I set my under eyes using BECCA under eye brightening setting powder $25 for 0.09 oz of product on their website but currently sold out) and I set the rest of my face using Fenty PRO FILT’R INSTANT RETOUCH SETTING POWDER ($32 for 0.98 ounces of product on their website) in the shade Butter (FOR FAIR TO MEDIUM SKIN TONES). I touched up my blush using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush ($29 for 0.2 oz at Ulta) in the shade Natural Beauty (matte rosy red), my bronzer using Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer ($30 for 0.32 oz at Ulta… mine is the limited edition big pan) in the shade Park Avenue Princess and my highlighter using L.A.Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powder ($7.99 for 0.19 oz at Ulta) in the shade 90 Watt. I highlighted the corners of my eyes using a combo of the shades Seashells (Icy white with a slight yellow shift – metallic) and  Glowin’ (pale coral with a peach flip – metallic). I chose not to line my lips today, I found that I did not need to line them with the lipstick I chose. For my lips I used Fenty STUNNA LIP PAINT LONGWEAR FLUID LIP COLOR ($25 for 0.13 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Unattached (bright coral) which I topped with a little of Fenty GLOSS BOMB UNIVERSAL LIP LUMINIZER ($19 for 0.3 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Fenty Glow (shimmering rose nude). I popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style Chloe and coated my lashes in 1 coat of Beauty Bakerie Eyelash Icing ($18 for 0.34 oz of product on their website). I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz/ 110 mL at Ulta). For face touch-ups I chose to use LA Girl Pro Face Matte Pressed Powder ($6.99 for 0.25 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Creamy Natural.

Final Thoughts:

Rare Beauty by Selina Gomez Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush ($21 for 0.17 ounces of product at Sephora) in the shade Nearly Apricot (muted coral) is billed as a breakthrough, mistake-proof, liquid-like cream blush that melts into a second skin for the most natural-looking wash of soft-focus color. The first-of-its-kind water-resistant blush combines pigments with a non-greasy blend of weightless oils and spherical powders for a natural flush you can’t mess up. The ultralightweight, liquid-like cream melts on contact and blends to a smooth, satin finish that won’t cake, crease, or clog pores. It comes in 5 shades.

Yesterday I gave this blush a grade of a solid B+ but I’d like to amend my grade to a solid A+++ I tried a different application technique… I used my damn beauty sponge to apply the blush today and that was a perfect application. It was smooth, not patchy at all and did not lift any of the products underneath.

bareMinerals Barepro Glow Highlighter Liquid Highlighter ($29 for 0.5 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Free (pale gold with icy pearls) is billed as being formulated for long wearing luminosity that can be worn three ways for a truly customized glow that lasts up to 16 hours. (can be worn on as a highlighter, all over under foundation or as an add in to foundation or moisturizer). It comes in 4 shades.

I give this liquid highlighter a solid A+++!!! : This highlighter is very liquidity just like the liquid bronzer but I don’t even mind now that I know how to work with the bronzer I was able to work with the highlighter with no issues. This highlighter is stunning!!! It’s a glow without any added shimmer to it and just brings the prettiest lilt to the high points of the face. It’s perfect for any occasion, no makeup, low maintenance makeup, a full beat face… you name it this highlighter has your back.

Fenty GLOSS BOMB UNIVERSAL LIP LUMINIZER ($19 for 0.3 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Fenty Glow (shimmering rose nude) is billed as the ultimate gotta-have-it lip gloss with explosive shine that feels as good as it looks—Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is the essential finishing touch to your Fenty Face. It comes in 7 shades.

I give this lip gloss a solid A+++!!! : The hype behind this product is everywhere but now I get it. It’s not sticky, it’s hydrating and it’s got a beautiful slip to it. I am so going to have to purchase more shades!!!

Fenty STUNNA LIP PAINT LONGWEAR FLUID LIP COLOR ($25 for 0.13 fluid ounces of product on their website) in the shade Unattached (bright coral) is billed as a weightless, longwear liquid lipstick with a soft matte finish—born in a range of head-turning shades that look incredible on all skin tones. It comes in 9 shades.

I give this lip stick a solid A+++!!! :Can Fenty do no wrong??? I think not…. This lip stick did give me a little trouble at first… issuer error, I applied way too much at first and got it all over my teeth… but I managed to fineness it and I just love the way it looks! The color stained my lips and lasted all day as well. I think I may pick up a few more shades too.

Beauty Bakerie Eyelash Icing ($18 for 0.34 oz of product on their website) is billed as a waterproof and volumizing Eyelash Icing Mascara. The perfect topper for your baked beat, Eyelash Icing Mascara will freeze your lashes in place for all-day, all-night long-lasting wear. This ink-black, smudge-proof recipe is a staple in our kitchen for adding length and definition to lashes. Skip the falsies, and taste test our Eyelash Icing on its own for an easy, everyday look, or pair with our Eyescreams and Gelatos for eye-catching drama.

I give this mascara a solid F : I really wanted to like this mascara, truly I did, but it just is non existent. I have tried it few a few days now and at first I used 1 coat…. nothing, so I tried 3 coats… nothing and finally I tried today with a primer… still nothing. It’s like the mascara just soaks into the lashes and does nothing, it doesn’t lengthen, it doesn’t thicken and it doesn’t even darken the lashes. This has got to be the worst mascara I have ever used.

Well dolls. That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Don’t forget to save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO, Nita
