May 2021 Haul#9 Huda Beauty

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing pretty good today.

Just popping in with a quick haul, swatches and first impressions.

*As always… All products listed I purchased myself, all links provided are purely for convenience purposes to help you find the product quickly and are in no way affiliate links. The swatches are done on clean bare skin with no primer and are done in 1 swipe, pictures to the left/top are taking without flash and the right/bottom with flash*

Huda Water Jelly Hydrating Primer ($33 for 35 ML/ 1.18 FL OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as an ultra-hydrating primer that smooths and quenches skin with a surge of moisture to create the perfect canvas that’s ready to grip makeup in place for long-lasting, flawless wear.

It claims that it will keep your skin balanced all day long while the activated makeup grip creates the perfect texture for makeup. The unique jelly texture melts into the skin for instant hydration, providing a super smooth, makeup-ready canvas in less than 60-seconds!

My first impression: This primer is super light weight and seemed to melt into the back of my hand. It felt hydrating but I’m not sure this primer will do very much for my makeup game.

Huda #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation ($40 for 35 ML/ 1.18 FL OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as the same full coverage and long-lasting properties, you know and love from the OG formula, but with 24-hour flexible wear, a luminous matte finish.

It comes in 39 shades (I have the shade Shortbread 200B – Light skin with pinky-beige undertones.

It claims to be a true filter effect that gives instant coverage so seamless that it immediately unifies skin tone and texture as it blurs skin to give a radiant finish. The non-cakey formula is life proof (waterproof, super long wear (24hr), transfer proof, fade proof, sweat proof, humidity proof.) No matter what the weather, occasion or situation, #FauxFilter Luminous Matte will NEVER let you down.

My first impression: This foundation is super pigmented and super full coverage. I only used the tiniest of a squeeze and look how far that dot of product spread out. It’s a demi satin finish that has no scent and did not oxidize on my skin.

Huda The Overachiever Concealer ($30 for 10 ML/ 0.34 FL OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as a full coverage creamy concealer, armed with skincare actives and a cooling zamac tip.

It comes in 17 shades (I have the shade Marshmallow 02BFair with beige and peach undertones)

It claims to be packed with 31% pure pigment, and multi-action skincare actives – the Overachiever not only covers and conceals, but also soothes the delicate skin around the eyes with every application.

My first impression: Honestly I thought this concealer was going to be heavy and too thick for my maturing under eye skin… from this swatch not only is it super saturated in pigment (meaning the amount of product I used could go for both eyes and still have way too much left over) but a pretty demi matte finish that I don’t think I will need a corrector with.

Huda N.Y.M.P.H. Not. Your. Mama’s. Panty. Hose. ($49 for 55 ML / 1.85 FL OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as a flawless summer skin that feels smooth and hydrated – without streaks or harsh lines.

It comes in 3 shades (I have the shade Luna – A soft, white-gold shimmer with hints of rose gold and silver).

It claims to be a water-based formula that melts seamlessly into the skin to help blur imperfections, leaving you with nothing but a sun-touched shimmer that is both water and transfer resistant. N.Y.M.P.H promises to give you flawless summer skin that feels smooth and hydrated – without streaks or harsh lines.

My first impression : This highlighter is super liquidity but super shiny, doesn’t have a scent to it and dries super fast… I wanted this product so that I could use it as a face highlight so I will have to work in sections and quickly to avoid any texture.

Huda Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder ($34 for 20 G/ 0.71 OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as inspired by Huda’s strong belief that the technique of baking is a key step to a flawless finish while ensuring long-lasting, melt-proof makeup.

It comes in 8 shades (I have the shade Cupcake (Fair to light skin tones. pink undertones brighten and disguise under-eye darkness).

This product claims to be an extremely light and silky texture that blends seamlessly into the skin leaving it matte with a hint of sheen, for a luminous finish that controls shine throughout the day. The powders work to subtly color correct and highlight different contours of the face, leaving a translucent veil of color on your skin.

My first impression: I understand what they mean by matte with a hint of sheen…. at first when I read that I though how can it be matte and yet have a sheen…. It’s not a true sheen (say like with the Too Faced Ethereal setting powder) but more of a “because of the shade it seems to be glowing)” and it’s also not a true matte… It’s more of a demi satin. There is no scent and I kind of like the mesh stopper in the packaging.

Huda Glow Coco Hydrating Mist ($35 for 3.38 FL OZ / 100 ML on their website and at Sephora) is billed as a hydrating Mist that primes, sets and refreshes for a super glowy and dewy finish. The milky spray is infused with a refreshing blend of coconut water, milk and a hint of coconut oil – all known to hydrate, soothe and soften without feeling greasy or heavy.

It claims to be a micro mist pump that allows for quick, smooth, and even application, just like walking through a cloud. For normal to dry skin it works perfectly as a hydrating and moisturizing base and can also be used to set and refresh your make up throughout the day and for oily, acne-prone skin they recommend using Glow Coco on top of your make up to set and refresh your makeup.

My first impression: I have a setting spray already open so I just sprayed the tiniest of bit so I could see how it smelled… well…. this one doesn’t smell like coconut at all… it’s more like fruity pebbles… I’m ok with that scent because I love tutti frutti scents so I’m fine with it.

Huda #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil ($17 for 0.023 G/ 0.0008 OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as an ultra-fine 0.9mm tip, retractable brow pencil that precisely defines, shapes and fills your brows using tiny hair-like strokes that give a microblade-worthy effects to create brows that look on point, literally.

It comes in 8 shades (I have the shade Black Brown #7 – For black hair with warm undertones).

It claims to be a pigmented, super smooth brow pencil that is infused with a creamy blend of vitamin E, castor oil and coconut oil to create soft, hair-like strokes for effortless building and blending. With a durable spoolie at one end, it diffuses pigments perfectly so you can build and customize your look.

My first impression: This pencil was a bit hard and the point is so small that I’m afraid that the point might brake when I g to use it. It’s a great color shade for me and I am hoping that the product will warm up as I use it so it’s not so hard of a product.

Huda Power Bullet Matte Lipstick ($25 for 3 G/ 0.1 OZ on their website and at Sephora) is billed as highly-pigmented lipsticks that delivers unparalleled color payoff in a silky-smooth, plush-matte formula.

Huda Contour & Strobe Set ($25 (on sale for $12.50) is billed as Huda’s limited edition Heartbreaker & Shameless combo will leave you with a bold, unique red-pink look to inspire confidence to take on whatever life throws your way.

This set gives you 2 mini lippies and a full sized lip pencil. I have the color story Heartbreaker & Shameless.

My first impression: I’m keen to try this set out. The liquid lippie was smooth and not at all drying in the swatch. The glitter topper is super pigmented and the lip line is a dreamy formula.

Huda Naughty Nude Eyeshadow Palette ($67 for 16.8 G / 0.59 OZ of total product making it a little over $ 3.70 a shade on their website and at Sephora) is billed as a naughty re-imagination of our bestselling New Nude palette. 18 delicious shades in 5 ultra-wearable textures have been harmoniously curated to (un)dress your eyes and empower you to be your most fierce and confident self.

This super cool looking shadow in the palette is described as a Never-Seen-Before Gloss with encapsulated Bronze & Berry Pearls

My first impression: I really like the formula in this palette. The mattes are creamy, the metallics are creamy and both formulas seem to blend effortlessly. The only shadow that I’m thrown off by is Slippery it just doesn’t make sense. It’s just a clear base with very little color payoff… I’m not sure really what good it is in this palette other than just a really cool effect.

The shades from left to right are: Filthy (cool toned soft baby pink matte), Passion (iris and pink marble shimmer cream), Shameless (fuchsia metallic), Please Me (antique gold with pink reflection metallic), Hypnotic (cool toned sand matte), Hard, Untamed (deep berry matte), Irresistible (cool toned pink bronze metallic), Flower Power (camel and gold marble shimmer cream) and Rough (café au lait matte)

The shades from left to right are: Spicy (mulberry matte), Arouse (rusty brown matte), Slippery (bronze and berry shimmer gloss hybrid), Tantric (yellow gold metallic), Naughty (mahogany matte), Provocative Desire (fiery red metallic) and Juicy (soft peach toned tan matte)

Huda Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette ($65 but on sale for $39 for on their website) is billed as a dynamic eyeshadow palette with 18 shades in four unique textures.

My first impression: I LOVE this palette! It’s got the same great formula as the Naughty Nudes and every shade is stunning.

The shades from left to right are: Desert Sand (warm light peach – matte), Musk (medium taupe – matte), Eden (medium salmon peach – matte), Amber (a red based medium brown – matte), Blood Moon (red based medium copper – metallic), Oud (plum based dark brown – matte), Celestial (deep dirty copper with a pink to gold duo chrome – topper), Nefertiti (mid toned aged gold – metallic) and Twilight (pink based mid tone lavender with a purple to blue to pink duo chrome shift – topper).

Well dolls… That’s it for this post… I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

Remember dolls… Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.

XOXO,

Nita
