Pride Look #1 June 2021 Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! Happy Wednesday!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I have been super busy trying to finish the dress I’m making for our niece’s wedding in October. I also had a hard time sleeping this past few days. I ran out of my Ropinirole and my restless leg syndrome went into full on attack mode. I was able to get it refilled last night so I slept like Snow White right after she bit the apple.

I had wanted to start this week off with my pride look but you know…. life. So since I only have 4 days left of the week I have decided to put my stash box on hold till next week and just do the rest of the week in honor of pride month 2021.

So without further ado…. I present look 1 of pride month 2021….

Today’s scent is:

Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle was released in 2017 and has a crisp woody flora scent with a hint of ocean breeze layered in.

Top Notes: Violet Leaf and Red Berries

Heart Notes: Violets and White Flowers

Base Notes: Creamy White Woods.

What I think of the scent: This perfume is truly unique. It’s both sporty and flirty, sophisticated yet playful. This is typically the scent I take with me on vacation because it pairs well with anything and there is enough roundness to the scent that it works for a dressy occasion or a casual occasion.

Now… on to the walkthrough of today’s face of the day…

Eyes and Brows:

I started by setting my brows using the soap brow technique and then filled them in using Uoma BROW-FRO Baby Hair ($22 for 0.002 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade #6 (deep brown). I carved out the brow using Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz of product on their website) in the shade Ballerina (nude cream). I then set the brow line with the shade Snow Cap (vanilla white – matte) from the BH Cosmetics Smitten in Switzerland 16 pan palette (Currently on sale for $8.50 at Ulta but reg price is $17 for 0.56 oz making it 0.035 and $1.06 per shade with the sale it’s $0.53 per shade). I started the look off by using the Beauty Creations Color Base Primers ($4 for 0.5 fl oz of product on their website) in the shades: Rockstar (true red), Orange Blast (true orange), and Lime Light (soft yellow) to create a gradient line above my natural crease. I then took the Beauty Creations Color Base Primers ($4 for 0.5 fl oz of product on their website) in the shades: Jade (light grass green), Blue My Mind (bright light blue) and Purple Cream (soft true purple) for create a gradient liner on the mobile lids. I then went in with the BH Cosmetics Trendy in Tokyo 16 pan palette ( $17 for 0.56 oz making it 0.035 and $1.06 per shade at Ulta) to add definition to the two wings I created…. I applied shadows with the corresponding shades of the graphic liner: I went in with the shades Fashion (mid-toned dusty red – matte), Trendsetter (orange with a hint of peach undertone – matte), Karaoke (vivid yellow – matte), for the green I mixed 2 shades: Bamboo (deep true green – matte) with Wasabi (neon lime – shimmer), for the blue I mixed 2 shades: Electric (deep true blue – shimmer) and Fortune (light powder blue – matte), for the purple I mixed 2 shades: Sake (dusty true purple – shimmer) and Kyoto (deep true purple – matte). I then cut the crease (from true crease up to the red, orange and yellow liner) using the Beauty Creations Color Base Primer ($4 for 0.5 fl oz of product on their website) in the shade Ballerina (nude cream) and set the whole area with more of Snow Cap (vanilla white – matte) from the Smitten palette. I then went over the area with E.L.F. Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow ($5 for 0.10 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Disco Queen (icy white glitter) and tapped the shade Aura Glitter (multi dimensional Champagne glitter) from the Tait Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 palette ($48 on her website). For the bottom lash line I created a deep drop shadow to represent the Bisexual Flag in pink, purple and blue using: for pink I mixed 2 shades: Anime (bright pink – shimmer) and Emoji (vibrant neon pink – matte), for the purple I mixed 2 shades: Sake (dusty true purple – shimmer) and Kyoto (deep true purple – matte) and for the blue I mixed 3 shades: Lively (icy pastel blue – shimmer), Electric (deep true blue – shimmer) and Fortune (light powder blue – matte). I used the shade Blossom (a pale cherry pink – matte) to buff out the harsh line from the drop shadow. I then Lined my lower waterlines using L.A. Girl Shockwave Eyeliner ($4.49 at Ulta) in the shade Vivid (neon purple) and L.A. Girl Shockwave Lipliner ($4.49 at Ulta) in the shade Pop (neon pink).

I skipped contour and went in straight with bronzer using the Huda Beauty Tantour Contour & Bronzer Cream ($30 for 0.42 oz/ 12g at Sephora) in the shade Light (light to medium with cool undertones). I color corrected my under eyes using L.A. Girl HD Pro Corrector Concealer ($4.99 for 0.28 oz at Ulta) in the shade Peach Corrector. For foundation today I’m using my Rare Beauty by Selina Gomez Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation ($29 for 1 oz/ 30 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade 140C (light with cool neutral undertones). Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

I highlighted the high points of my face using Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick ($46 for 0.21 oz/ 6.1 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Gold Flash (gold). For blush I used Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush ($20 for 0.1 oz/ 3 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Strawberry Drip (soft coral pink). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 for 0.14 oz/ 4.2 g of product at Sephora) in the shade #1 (fair to medium skin tones) and the rest of my face using Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder ($34 for 0.71 oz/ 20 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Cupcake (fair to light skin tones. pink undertones brighten and disguise under-eye darkness). I used Kylie Cosmetics Kylighter ($8 for 0.34 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Cheers Darling (light champagne gold) to amp up the highlighter on my nose, cupid’s bow and over my brows. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink (terracotta rose) and filled in the lips using Rare Beauty by Selina Gomez Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm ($18 for 0.12 oz/ 3.8 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Nearly Apricot (soft coral). For mascara I used the LA Girl Jetsetter Mascara ($6.99 for 0.32 oz of product at Ulta) and popped on a pair of ColourPop Falsies ($8 on their website) in the style Mami. I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta).  For touch ups I am using Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – shade Creamy Natural (0.49 oz for $3.17 at Walmart). I added a touch of the Kylie Highlighter to the inner corners of my eyes.

Final Thoughts:

I really liked the way this look came out but I think I would have liked it just a tad more if I had done pink and purple on the lower lash line and then blue in the waterlines and maybe did a pink and purple Ombre lip or perhaps a pink purple and blue Ombre lip. Nonetheless I do really love this year’s Pride look.

Well dolls… that’s all for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

🥄 Remember… Save a spoon for a bit of lisptick🥄
