Hey doll hey!! Happy Wednesday!!! How’s your day/night going? Mine is going OK. I had to take some down time. It’s rainy season here in Florida and that always translates into major pain flairs for my Fibromyalgia and RA. I had 3 days of nothing but riding the sofa and tiring to breath through the pain. I’m still tender now but at least I’m able to sit up and even play with some makeup.

Today’s look was inspired by this picture I found on Google when I was researching glam makeup looks for weddings… and I thought it was so amazingly beautiful that I wanted to try and do it with a softer application. I still want to try this exact look out at some point but for now I’m pretty happy with the way my take on the look…. I used the ColourPop x Kathleen Lights So Jaded 30 pan palette ($39 for 0.97 oz / 27.5 g of total product which makes it 0.032 oz / 0.92 g $1.30 per shade… and is no longer available… it was a limited run collab).
Today’s scent it….

Top Notes: Italian Mandarin, Clary Sage, Japanese White Fern and Sea Breeze Accord.
Heart Notes: White Tea, White Iris, Mate Absolute (a dark green solid requiring heating to dissolve. It has a Matcha-Green-Tea odor. Useful in herbal, fougere, forest and tobacco type fragrances or wherever a natural Green Tea effect is required.), Turkish Rose and Sapucaya Atmospheric (Brazilian Monkey Pot Fruit).
Base Notes: Ambrette Seed Absolute (musk mallow), Tonka Bean, Amber, and Madras Wood.
What I think about this scent: This is a well rounded scent for me. I only just tried it for the first time last week and enjoyed the scent so much that I purchased the big bottle (side note this is the scent I will be wearing for my wedding renewal). It’s a woody floral that pairs well for any occasion. It’s crisp and inviting and envelops you in a sense of sipping tea by the fire whilst reading your favorite book.
Now, on to the walk through for today’s Face of the Day……

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler ($20 for 0.0024 oz / 0.07 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Black Brown (for dark brown to black hair, neutral undertone). I carved out my brows and primed the lids using P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s look I used the ColourPop x Kathleen Lights So Jaded 30 pan palette ($39 for 0.97 oz / 27.5 g of total product which makes it 0.032 oz / 0.92 g $1.30 per shade… and is no longer available… it was a limited run collab). I started by setting my brow line using the shade My Precious (pale peach – matte). For the transition I used the shade Rose Quartz (soft neutral mauve – matte). My crease shade is Carnelian (burnt orange – matte) and then went in and deepened the lowest part of the crease using the shade Jasper (red brown – sequin mate). I cut the full crease using more P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5. and then went over the newly cut crease with KVD Beauty Dazzle Vegan Eyeshadow Stick ($22 for 0.12 oz / 3.55 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Flash Storm (described as a dreamy sterling but is actually a plum base with silver metallic finish). The look was pretty but I wanted the cut crease to be more glittery like the inspiration photo so I applied a layer of NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 oz/ 9.76 mL of product at Ulta). I waited for that to get a bit tacky and then I tapped ColourPop Pressed Glitter Single ($5 on their website) in the shade Conga (warm gold with pink and purple pinpoints) on the whole cut crease. I then took more of the shade Jasper (red brown – sequin mate) and lined the lower edge of the cut crease and blended it into the upper crease. I then created a micro wing liner along the upper lash line using Benefit Cosmetics Roller Liner Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner ($22 for 0.03 oz/ 1.0 mL and $12 for 0.01 oz/ 0.5 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Brown. For the lower lash line I created a deep drop shadow using more of the shade My Precious (pale peach – matte) and then I warmed up the lash line with more of the shade Carnelian (burnt orange – matte). I took more of the shade Jasper (red brown – sequin mate) and pressed that into the lashes. I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop x Raw Beauty Kristi BFF Crème Gel Liner (was $5 but is no longer available, was a limited edition run) in the shade Woodsy (warm tone medium brown). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes using the shade Pearl (pale gold – metallic).
Complexion:

I primed my face with MAC Strobe Cream ($35 for 1 fl oz /29.57 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Pinklite (pink pearl). For foundation I am using Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation ($11 for 1.05 fl oz /31.05 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade 030 Sand Beige. I contoured using Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Concealer ($10 for 0.01 fl oz / 2.96 mL at Ulta) in the shade Warm Chestnut (dark skin tones with neutral undertones). For bronzer I am using Milk Makeup Flex Foundation Stick ($36 for 0.35 oz/ 10 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Rich (very deep with neutral undertones). I highlighted the high points of my face using Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balm ($30 for 0.14 oz/4 g on their website) in the shade Bounce (rose gold). I color correct my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 for 0.16 oz/ 4.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Light to Medium (pearlized, peachy-pink). I concealed using Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Concealer ($10 for 0.45 fl oz / 13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade C3 (fair skin tones with cool undertones).
Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For blush I used Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($20 for 0.25 oz/ 7.5 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Love (matte terracotta). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 for 0.14 oz/ 4.2 g of product at Sephora) in the shade #1 (fair to medium skin tones) and the rest of my face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Setting Powder ($34 for 0.56 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I topped my highlighter off using Benefit Cosmetics Cookie Powder Highlighter ($30 for 0.28 oz/ 8.0 g of product at Ulta and Sephora). I topped my blush of off using ColourPop Pressed Powder Blush ($12 but on sale for $8.40 on their website) in the shade Flower Tender (vibrant coral with gold pinpoints). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Frenchie (bright warm red) and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website but currently out of stock) in the shade Red Pocket (true red) and then I topped the center of my lips off with Juvia’s Place The Reds and Berries Glass Gloss ($14.00 at Ulta) in the shade Ruby Rose (soft cherry red). For mascara I used Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara ($11.49 at Ulta) and popped on a pair of Alora Cosmetics 3D Mink Lashes in the style Hollywood ($9.99 but on sale for $6.99 on her website). I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta). For touch ups I am using Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – shade Creamy Natural (0.49 oz for $3.17 at Walmart).
Final Thoughts:

The softer version of this look is pretty but I really do want to try the original, it’s so glam and stunning that I just know it will bring out the amber in my eyes.

Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Concealer ($10 for 0.01 fl oz / 2.96 mL at Ulta) in the shade Warm Chestnut (dark skin tones with neutral undertones).
I give this concealer a solid A++ : This is a grate dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand and I would love to have given it a top billing, however, it doesn’t preform well under foundation. I tried this concealer to under paint my contour and when I applied my foundation it all but disappeared. But today I tried it over my foundation and it is an almost perfect match for the medium/deep shade of the Charlotte Tilbury wand. It’s 1/2 the cost but it’s also 1/2 the amount of product. I could see myself repurchasing this one.

ColourPop x Raw Beauty Kristi BFF Crème Gel Liner (was $5 but is no longer available, was a limited edition run) in the shade Woodsy (warm tone medium brown).
I give this eyeliner a solid A+++!!! : This brown gives the most subtle boost to the caramel undertones in brown eyes. It’s so pretty and lasts all day. I hope ColourPop brings it back out sometime because I could see myself repurchasing it.

Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balm ($30 for 0.14 oz/4 g on their website) in the shade Bounce (rose gold).
I give this cream highlighter a solid A+++!!! and a huge very long standing ovation! : This highlighter leaves the skin looking dewy without being greasy. When I swatched this one it seamed like it would be a flop and that it would have no pay off.. I WAS WORNG!!!!! It looks so stunning on the face that I think this may be my go to summer cream highlighter.

ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website but currently out of stock) in the shade Red Pocket (true red) *the last shade in this picture*.
I give this lippie stix a solid A+++!!! : This red is STUNNING. This is the first time I’ve worn it and I can already tell this is going to be my go to red.

Juvia’s Place The Reds and Berries Glass Gloss ($14.00 at Ulta) in the shade Ruby Rose (soft cherry red).
I give this lip gloss a solid A+++!!! : This lip gloss has just enough pigment in it to really lend a helping hand to any red lippie. It wasn’t sticky and wasn’t to thick and didn’t travel outside the lip line.
Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.
🥄 Remember, Save a spoon for the a little lipstick 🥄
