Today’s scent is:

Katy Perry Royal Revolution ($35.40 for 1.7 fl oz /50 mL at Walmart, also available on Amazon) was released in 2014 and is a woody sweet floral.

Top Notes: Red Pomegranate and Pink Freesia.

Heart Notes: Sandalwood, Jasmine and Orange Blossom.

Base Notes: Vanilla Orchid, Musk, Blackthorn and Leather.

What I think about this scent: This is a flirty little scent that pairs well with causal wear but is just enough sexy to pair wear with that little black dress. I love this scent but it doesn’t last long so I always make sure to have my travel atomizer at the ready for touch ups.

Annnnnd…. on to the walk through for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with ELF Cosmetics Lock on Liner and Brow Cream ($4 for 0.19 oz /5.39 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Medium Brown. I carved out my brows and primed the lids using P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5. For today’s look I used the BH Cosmetics Passion in Paris 16 Color Shadow Palette ($17 for 0.56 oz / 16 g of product on their website making it 0.035 oz/ 1 g and $1.06 per shade). I started by setting the brow line using the shade Champs-Elysees (pale baby pink – matte). For my transition I used the shade Notre-Dame (light dirty peach – matte). For the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the full crease I used the shade Pompidou (deep red – matte). For the outer v of the crease I used the shade Grand Palais (deep cranberry – matte). I then deepened the outer 1/2 of the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lids using the shade Muse D’orsay (dusty black – matte). I then used some micellar water to cut a half crease and applied more P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 0.5 over the newly cut crease to prep for shadow. I then went in with KVD Beauty Dazzle Vegan Eyeshadow Stick ($22 for 0.12 oz / 3.55 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Force Field (fiery ruby) and applied that over the middle 1/2 of the new cut crease, I also feathered that into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and crease to blend the 2 together. I then went in with the shade Eiffel Tower (soft peach with a strong champagne flash – metallic) over the inner 1/2 of the cut crease, again feathering it into the middle 1/2 of the cut crease to blend the 2 together. I then went in with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($21 for 0.25 oz of product at Ulta) in the shades Pyro (iridescent and sliver glitter on a milky white base) and traced a line on the very outer part of the cut crease at the top between the matte shades and metallic shades. For the lower lash line I created a deep drop shadow using more of first the shade Notre-Dame (light dirty peach – matte) and then more of Pompidou (deep red – matte). I then deepened the lash line using more of the shade Grand Palais (deep cranberry – matte). I then took more of the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($21 for 0.25 oz of product at Ulta) in the shades Pyro (iridescent and sliver glitter on a milky white base) and lined just the very center of the lower lash line. I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes and the arch of my brow bone using the shade Louvre (icy white with a strong white flash – metallic). I lined my lower waterlines using L.A. Girl Shockwave Lip Liner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz/ 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Fiery (bright berry red).

Complexion:

I primed using Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer Moisturizing Primer ($42 for 1 oz/ 30 mL and $15 for .50 oz/ 15 mL of product at Sephora). My foundation today is L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation ($14.99 for 1 fl oz / 29.57 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade #420 True Beige. I bronzed my face using Milk Makeup Matte Cream Bronzer ($30 for 1 oz/ 30mL and $18 for 0.24 oz/ 6.7 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Blaze (deep bronze). I color corrected my under eyes using BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 for 0.16 oz/ 4.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Light to Medium (pearlized, peachy-pink). I concealed using Juvia’s Place I Am Magic Concealer ($14 for 0.34 oz / 10.055 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade #23 (for fair skin with neutral undertones). I highlighted the high points of the face using Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight ($22 for 0.5 oz/ 15 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Mesmerize (rose bronze, Selena’s go to shade).

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For my cheeks today I used bareMinerals BOUNCE & BLUR Blush ($29 for 0.19 oz / 5.9 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Coral Cloud (fresh peach). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($28 for 0.14 oz/ 4.2 g of product at Sephora) in the shade #1 (fair to medium skin tones) and the rest of my face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Loose Setting Powder ($34 for 0.56 oz of product at Ulta) in the shade Translucent. I topped my highlighter off using Glisten (champagne gold highlight) from the BH Cosmetics Blushing in Bali 6 Color Blush and Highlighter Palette ($17, but on sale for $6.80 for 0.75 oz/ 21.5 g off total product making it 0.13 oz / 3.58 g and $2.83 per shade, $1.13 per shade on sale). I lined and filled in my lips with ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 but currently on sale for $4.20 on their website) in the shade Bichette (deepened red) and then topped my lips off with ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 but currently on sale for $4.90 on their website) in the shade Songbird (muted berry). I coated my lashes in Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara ($26 for 0.30 oz / 8.5 g and $13 for 0.14 oz/ 4 g of product at Sephora) and then  popped on a pair of Alora Cosmetics 3D Mink Lashes in the style Hollywood ($9.99 but on sale for $6.99 on her website). I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta).  For touch ups I am using Wet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder ($5.99 for 0.26 oz / 7.5 g of product on their website and at Walgreens) in the shade Neutral Beige.

Final Thoughts:

I really wanted something full on glam that was still wearable and I really am digging the look I came up with. I’m starting to step out of my comfort zone and really play around with bold bright colors and to be honest I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to just safe looks.

BH Cosmetics Blushing in Bali 6 Color Blush and Highlighter Palette ($17, but on sale for $6.80 for 0.75 oz/ 21.5 g off total product making it 0.13 oz / 3.58 g and $2.83 per shade, $1.13 per shade on sale) is billed as a sun-kissed complexion inspired by exotic islands with our Blushing in Bali 6 Color Blush and Highlighter Palette. In silky matte and shimmer finishes, each richly pigmented hue sweeps on seamlessly to create a natural flush to the cheeks and face. Wear these flattering, blendable blushes and highlighters alone or layer for endless radiant effects.

I give this face palette an solid A+++!! : I didn’t give it the full highest grade only because the highlighter was a bit flakey other than that the shades I used today had just the right amount of pigment and buffed into the skin well. I can use 5 of the 6 shades on the face the very last shade is too deep for me so I’ll use it as an eyeshadow and lip topper. It’s great product for a super valuable price point.

BH Cosmetics Passion in Paris 16 Color Shadow Palette ($17 for 0.56 oz / 16 g of product on their website making it 0.035 oz/ 1 g and $1.06 per shade) is billed as a high-fashion, vegan mix of romantic deep berries and cool-toned hues with powerful payoff. Light up every eye look in your itinerary with twinkling shimmer and buttery matte finishes that will stay put from your morning croissant to your evening glass of wine.

I give this palette a solid A+++!!! : This palette was a dream to work with. I was able to use almost 1/2 the palette in today’s look and every shade played well together. They blended out and buffed together with no skipping, no patchiness and no fall out… there was a little kick back in the pans but nothing too heavy and every shade maintained their pigmentation all day long.

Force Field (fiery ruby)

KVD Beauty Dazzle Vegan Eyeshadow Stick ($22 for 0.12 oz / 3.55 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as  a vegan, long-wear eyeshadow stick loaded with brilliant flecks of multidimensional pearls to deliver prismatic eyeshadow in a flash. Featuring a 36% water base with a cool, refreshing feel, the vegan formula dries down to a smooth and lustrous finish, locking prismatic pearl color onto lids. Don’t let the water fool you, these pigment-packed, vegan eyeshadow sticks deliver rich, opaque color for ultra-dazzling dimension.

I give this cream shadow a solid A+++!!! : I am having so much fun playing with these shadow sticks. They are so creamy yet set very quickly…. I advise working in long swipes with a shadow brush or applying it with your finger so that you can get the product even. They are super reflective and do not crease or budge all day.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

🥄 Remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick 🥄
