Natural Makeup Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your Sunday day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up in some pain and with very low energy. I ended up falling asleep on the sofa until 2:30 pm but when I woke from my nap I had a bit more energy… so I figured I’d keep my momentum going and do my makeup… I’ve managed to blog the past 10 days straight and didn’t want to stop the streak so here we are.

The tiny decisions app chose natural makeup for today so that didn’t take too much time or energy to do…. however my arms hurt really bad today so I couldn’t hold my camera up too high and so today’s pictures will be missing my chin and neck 🤷‍♂️.

Today’s scent is :

Kate Spade Live Colorfully ($37.99 for 3.4 fl oz at Walmart) was released in 2013 and is a spicy flower scent.

I chose to wear Kate Spade again today….

Top Notes: Pink Water Lily, Mandarin Orange and Star Anise.

Heart Notes: Gardenia and Coconut Water.

Base Notes: Tahitian Vanilla, Musk and Amber.

What I think of this scent: This scent is so romantic. I love the warmth and the way it finishes with a light floral scent.

Now on to to the walk through for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with L.A. Girl Brow Pomade ($5.99 for 0.27 oz / 7.65 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 05. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Grandeur 9 Pan Palette ($14 but on sale for $7 for 0.3 oz / 9 g of total product on their website making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 or $0.78 on sale per shade). I started with the shade velvet (midtone taupe – matte) as my transition shade from crease to brow line. I then took the shade dusk (saddle brown – matte) on the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids and up into the outer v of the crease to add a subtle definition to the outer part of the eyes. For the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids I used the shade Haus (pale gold – metallic) and I applied it with my finger so that I could sheer it out. For the lower lash lines I used more of the shade velvet (midtone taupe – matte) to create a soft drop shadow and then I lined my lower waterlines using Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner ($26 but on sale for $13 for 0.01 oz / 0.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Mari(Gold) (golden peach shimmer). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes and the brow line using Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($9.99 for 0.30 oz / 8.5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Afterglow (champagne).

Complexion:

I primed my face using NYX Angel Veil Lightweight Skin Perfecting Vegan Primer ($16 for 1.02 oz / 28.92 g of product at Ulta). I skipped contouring and cream highlight since I was going for a natural look. For foundation I chose BECCA Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation (no longer available as company is going out of business) in the shade Shell (light Beige with neutral undertones) and I applied it only to the center of my face, sprayed setting spray and first buffed it in with a foundation brush. I then bronzed the cheeks, temples and chin with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer ($32 for 0.22 oz/ 6.23 g of product at Sephora) in the shade 05 Teddy (tan skin tones) and sprayed my face again with more setting spray and pounced my beauty sponge over the whole face to seamlessly blend all the face products together. When I do natural makeup I skip powder bronzer and opt for just cream to give the face a more natural bronzed look. I lightly color corrected my eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 for 0.10 oz / 2.835 g of product at Target, Walmart and the Pixi website) in the shade Brightening Peach and then very slightly concealed using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer ($32 for 0.13 oz / 4 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade 3 (fair neutral beige for light skin with neutral undertones). I had originally set myself to use shade 5.5 but this shade is actually too dark for me and was dried out so I decluttered it from my collection and replaced it with shade 3.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For blush today I only used cream blush and I applied with with a highlighter brush… I find that applying blush with a highlighter brush gives you a more subtle and the most natural looking flush of color possible. For cream blush today I used Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick ($46 for 0.2 oz/ 6 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Sacred (Coral Peach). I lightly set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 for 0.14 oz / 3.97 g of product at Ulta) and very VERY lightly set the rest of the face (concentrating mostly in the t zone) using Flower Beauty Miracle Matte Translucent Finishing Powder ($13.99 for 0.28 oz 7.94 g of product at Ulta). I lined my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 for 0.03 oz / 0.85 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Whipped Caviar (muted plum) and filled in my lips using BECCA Ultimate Lipstick Love (no longer in stock BECCA is going out of business) in the shade Tulip (soft coral – satin). I highlighted just the very tops of the cheeks, center of the nose and above my arches of my brows (basically where light typically hits my face) using Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($9.99 for 0.30 oz / 8.5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Afterglow (champagne). I used 1 coat of Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara ($10.49 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Ulta) in Fiercest Black and popped on a pair of Kiss Looks So Natural Lash ($11.99 for a 5 pack at Ulta) in the style Shy.  I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta). For touch ups I am using Catrice Prime & Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder ($8 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

I haven’t done a natural look in so long. Typically I use a brow pencil for a less bold look but I’m trying to perfect the whole fluffy brow look before my wedding renewal so I decided to use the pomade anyway. This look literally took 35 minutes to do… most of that time was spent on the brows… It takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes for me to do my brows.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

👄 Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick 👄
