Teal Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your Tuesday day/night going? Great I hope. I had to take yesterday off. I took a shower, did my body scrub (I do it 1 time a week and it always takes a lot out of me) and washed my hair and was wiped out without even setting my hair for the week. So I took advantage of the fact that I didn’t have any products in my hair and died my hair black today, set my hair up for the week and still had enough energy to play with makeup.

Today’s makeup look was meant to be a halo eye, but since I missed yesterday and I did a halo eye 2 days ago, I chose to do yesterday’s makeup look instead.

As I’ve said in the past, I use the app Tiny Decisions to pick not only my makeup for the week, but also my looks for the week. Ever since I started using the app it’s made life so much easier for me.

Today’s scent is….

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Body Cream ($45 for  8.1 oz/ 240 mL and $20 for 2.5 oz/ 75 mL of product at Sephora) is a sweet warm creamy scent.

Top Notes: Pistachio and Almond.

Heart Notes: Heliotrope and Jasmine.

Base Notes: Salted Caramel, Vanilla and Sandalwood.

What I think about this scent: I typically do not use perfume the day that I exfoliate with body scrubs, it tends to irritate my skin.. but I do use a scent body cream… and most recently this cream has replaced all of my favorite Bath and Bodyworks scents. Side note… I love the scent of this cream so much that I ordered the perfume and hand sanitizer along with another big tub and another tiny tub (for my handbag). I always get compliments when I use this cream as my scent for the day (including from my hubby who loves the way this smells). It’s a great causal scent that when layered with a musky perfume transforms into an elegant evening scent.

Now on to to the walk through for today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with ELF Lock on Liner and Brow Cream ($4 for 0.19 oz / 5.39 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Medium Brown. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 05. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop High Tide 9 Pan Palette ($14 for 0.3 oz / 9 g of total product on their website making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade). I started with the shade new wave (bright teal – matte) as my transition shade from crease to just bellow the brow line. I then used the shade urchin (rich teal – matte) for the outer 2/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. I then went in with the shade lunar (blackened teal – matte) on the outer 1/3 of the mobile lids and the outer 1/2 of the outer v of the crease. I used a cotton bud and some Micellar Water to cut my creases and then I added more P.Louise Base ($13.88, £10 for 0.504 fl oz / 15 mL on their website) in the shade Rumour 05 to the newly cut creases. I then tapped the shade must sea (vibrant aqua with golden highlight – metallic) over the cut creases. I then went in with the shade free floatin’ (silvery aqua – metallic). I then went in with the shade currents (mid-tone sea foam green – metallic) and buffed out all the harsh edges bellow the brow line and a little bit into the brow line. For the lower lash line I started by creating a deep drop shadow using more of the shade currents (mid-tone sea foam green – metallic) . I then went 1/2 way down the drop shadow with more of the shade new wave (bright teal – matte). Then closets to the lash line and up around to connect the upper shadow to the lower shadow I used more of the shade urchin (rich teal – matte). I then deepened the lash lines and the part of the drop shadow that connects to the upper shadow using more of the shade lunar (blackened teal – matte). I highlighted the inner corners of the eyes first using the shade just a splash (soft pastel aqua with silver pin points – sequin matte) and then I laid more of the shade free floatin’ (silvery aqua – metallic) over the top. I tight lined the upper and lower waterlines using NYX Epic Wear Liner Stick Long Lasting Eyeliner Pencil ($8 for 0.04 oz / 1.219 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Turquoise Storm (bright turquoise).

Complexion:

I primed my face using Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Illuminating Primer ($26 for 0.94 oz / 28 mL and $14 for 0.5 oz / 15 mL of product at Sephora). I contoured my face using ELF Putty Bronzer ($6 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Beach Please. I highlighted the high points of the face using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand ($38 for 0.41 fl oz/ 12 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Goldgasm (gold). For foundation I used Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation ($50 for 1 oz/ 30 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Beige 3 (medium beige with neutral undertones; for light to medium skin). I color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 for 0.10 oz / 2.835 g of product at Target, Walmart and the Pixi website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I bronzed using Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer ($32 for 0.22 oz/ 6.23 g of product at Sephora) in the shade 05 Teddy (tan skin tones) and then concealed my under eyes using NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop 24HR Full Coverage Matte Concealer ($8.50 for 0.11 oz / 3.112 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Vanilla (vanilla with neutral undertones).

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

My blush today is Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick ($46 for 0.2 oz/ 6 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Sacred (Coral Peach).  I lightly set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 for 0.14 oz / 3.97 g of product at Ulta) and very VERY lightly set the rest of the face (concentrating mostly in the t zone) using Flower Beauty Miracle Matte Translucent Finishing Powder ($13.99 for 0.28 oz 7.94 g of product at Ulta). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink (terracotta rose) and filled in my lips using Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Lipstick ($25 for 0.14 oz/ 4 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Sava (light dusty pink). I highlighted just the very tops of the cheeks, center of the nose and above my arches of my brows (basically where light typically hits my face) using Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($9.99 for 0.30 oz / 8.5 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Afterglow (champagne), my bronzer using BH Cosmetics Tanned in Tulum – 6 Color Bronzer & Highlighter Palette ($17 for 0.84 oz / 23.82 g of total product at Ulta making it 0.14 oz / 3.97 g and $2.83 per shade) and my blush using BECCA Mineral Blush ($32 for 0.2 oz/ 6 g of product but is no longer in stock as they are going out of business) in the shade Flower Child (coral pink with a frosty formula). I used 1 coat of Flower Beauty Lash Warrior Mascara ($10.49 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Ulta) in Fiercest Black and popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style Queen B.   I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta). For touch ups I am using Catrice Prime & Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder ($8 for 0.32 oz / 9.07 g of product at Ulta).

Final Thoughts:

I love this eye look!!! I love teal and seafoam shades (if you can’t tell from the photos of my makeup room) and this palette gave me seafaring realness! I think the only thing I would have changed would have been the lip color… perhaps a red based coral would have been better.

BH Cosmetics Tanned in Tulum – 6 Color Bronzer & Highlighter Palette ($17 for 0.84 oz / 23.82 g of total product at Ulta making it 0.14 oz / 3.97 g and $2.83 per shade) is billed as being perfect for every skin tone, these multi-dimensional matte & shimmer shades that leave behind a bronzed glow that stays fresh through a day of going off the grid in the jungle beachscape.

I give this bronzer palette a solid A+++!!! : This palette is extremely pigmented. I only just tapped the brush into the shade I used today and the was enough to bronze my forehead, temples and nose. The powders are finely milled and the undertones are pretty.

ColourPop High Tide 9 Pan Palette ($14 but on sale for $7 for 0.3 oz / 9 g of total product on their website making it 0.03 oz / 1 g and $1.56 per shade) is billed as a monochromatic range of pastel aquas, seafoam greens, and bright teals in a mix of shimmering metallics and blendable mattes for the a sea breezy look!

The shades are: just a splash: soft pastel aqua with silver pin points – sequin matte, currents: mid-tone sea foam green, free floatin’: silvery metallic aqua urchin: rich matte teal, urchin: rich matte teal , must sea: vibrant metallic aqua with golden highlights, flora: smoky matte teal, mussel beach: metallic smoky teal with green duo chrome finish, new wave: bright matte teal and lunar: blackened matte teal.

I give this palette a solid A+++!!! and a huge standing ovation!!!! : There are 3 color classes I just am a huge sucker for… Corals, Greens and Teals…. This palette gives me all the joy of teals… in one tiny little travel friendly palette. The shadows are finely milled, highly pigmented and buttery smooth. There was some kick back in the pans and a crap ton of fallout on the face… but with pigmentation this gorgeous I don’t even mind (after all I do my base after my eyes anyway). The shadows lasted all day and remain every bit as vibrant as when I first applied them. There was no creasing, no fading and, when buffed into each other, there was no muddiness or patchiness of the darker shades.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

👄 Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick 👄
