Neutral Face of the Day

Hey doll hey! How’s your Tuesday day/night going? Great I hope. I’m doing a bit better today. I had my pain management appointment today and they finally have agreed to physical therapy.

Most of the makeup I used today came from my Wet n Wild Haul and a few things from my makeup stash box.

Today’s scent is:

Sol Cheirosa ’62 ($78 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 mL and $26 for 0.27 fl oz / 8 mL on their website) was released in 2020 and is a sweet musky fruity scent.

Top Notes: Pistachio and Almond.

Heart Notes: Heliotrope and Jasmine Petals.

Base Notes: Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Sandalwood.

What I think about this scent: By far this has got to be my all time favorite scent! It’s sexy and playful and just reminds me of summer on the boardwalk. This is a great little scent for any occasion.

Now on to the walkthrough of today’s Face of the Day….

Eyes and Brows:

I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores). I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I feathered my brows with Urban Decay Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain ($26 for 0.01 oz / 0.28 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Dark Drapes (dark brown). I cut my brow line and primed my lids using Beauty Creations Color Primer Base ($4 for 0.50 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website) in the shade Ballerina Girl (nude). For today’s eye look I used the ELF Electric Mood x Tiana Major9 Feeling Lucky 18 Pan Palette ($16 for 0.635 oz / 18 g of total product on their website making it 0.0353 oz / 1 g and $0.89 per shade) and the Wet n Wild The Metallic Palette ($14.99 for 0.85 oz / 24 g of total product making it 0.056 oz / 1.6 g and $0.99 per shade on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart). I started with the Electric Mood palette. I used the shade Latte (camel tan – matte) all over the lids, from lash line to just bellow the brow line. I then used the shade Braided  (medium reddish brown – matte) on the outer 1/2 of the mobile lids and the outer v of the crease. I then took was left of this shade on the brush and deepened the very top of the inner transition area… creating this 2 tone effect of the transition. I then took a combination of the shades Browning (medium brown – matte) and  Heart of Man (midtone dusty black – matte) to deepen the very outer part of the outer v of the crease. I then applied some NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL of product at Ulta) to the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids and then switched to the Metallic Palette and pressed the shade Bronze all over the 2/3 of the mobile lids and then went back in with more of the shade Braided (medium reddish brown – matte) and feathered it into the Bronze shade. I then took the shade Chocolate Brown  and patted it over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids. I created a deep drop shadow for the lower lash line using more of the shade Latte (camel tan – matte) and then deepened the lash line with more of the shade Braided (medium reddish brown – matte). I lined my lower water line using NYX Slide On Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($8 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Golden Bronze (bronze – metallic). I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes with a combination of the shades Champagne and Antiqued Gold from the Metallic Palette.

Complexion:

I primed my face using Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Face Primer ($5.99 for 0.84 fl oz / 25 mL of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart). For foundation I used the Wet n Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator Tinted Skin Veil (5.99 for 0.91 fl oz / 27 mL of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Fair. I bronzed my face using the Wet n Wild MegaCushion Contour ($5.99 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Café au Slay. I color corrected my under eyes using the Wet n Wild MegaCushion Color Corrector ($5.99 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Peach. I concealed my under eyes using Wet n Wild Mega Last Incognito All-Day Full Coverage Concealer ($4.99 0.18 fl oz / 5.5 mL of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Fair Beige. I highlighted the high points of my face using Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter ($5.99 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Halo Goodbye.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

My blush today is Wet n Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick ($4.49 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Floral Majority (coral based pink). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 for 0.14 oz / 3.97 g of product at Ulta) in the shade#1 (fair / medium) and the rest of my face using Wet n Wild Photo Focus Loose Setting Powder ($5.99 for 0.70 oz / 20 g of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart). I touched up the bronzer using Makeup Revolution Bronzer Reloaded ($7 for 0.53 oz / 15 g of product on their website) in the shade Take a Vacation and my blush using ColourPop x Mulan Good Luck Charm Pressed Powder (was limited edition and no longer available). I coated my lashes in Makeup Revolution The Mascara Revolution ($10 at Ulta) and popped on a pair of KoKo Lashes ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) in the style Queen B. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Sow Happy (mid toned peachy nude) and topped my lips with Wet n Wild Cloud Pout Marshmallow Lip Mousse ($4.99 for 0.10 oz / 3 mL of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade the shade Fluffernutter (tan nude). I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 oz of product at Ulta). I then touched up my highlighter using Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($5.99 but on sale for $3.89 for 0.19 oz / 5.4 g of product on their website and at most drug stores and big box stores like Walmart) in the shade Blossom Glow (champagne with a slight pink shift). For touch ups I am using J. Cat Aquasurance Compact Foundation ($13.99 for 0.31 oz / 8.79 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Natural.

Final Thoughts:

I really love the eye look, however I truly hate my brows today… every time I use the Urban Decay Brow Blade I truly hate the way my brows look. I also think I should have gone with a berry or coral lip with this eye look and of course my hair is out of control this week because of having just freshly dying it… but I’m rolling with the look today.

I give this concealer a solid A+++!!! and a loud standing ovation!!! : Oh baby is this an amazing concealer. It’s full coverage with a demi matte finish. It sets all the way down and does not pick up any of my fine lines. This concealer paired with the corrector left my under eyes looking the best that they have every looked. So much so that this is the combo I’m wearing on our big day in January.

I give this cream bronzer a solid A++!! : This is a nice bronzer but I had to apply more after I applied my blush because it seemed to disappear. I think perhaps next time I will bronze AFTER applying blush to see if that helps it out. It’s tones and undertones are simply divine, it lends a nice radiance to the skin and it did not disturb the products underneath.

Hands down the BEST loose setting powder I’ve ever owned. That’s saying a lot since I was die hard Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder. I can not believe this product is only $6!!! It’s so damn good.

Toss one of these portable makeup sticks in your purse or pocket and you’ll be camera-ready in less time it takes to double tap. Available in: Strobe, Contour, Conceal and Blush.

I give this cream blush a solid B- : This blush stick left me frustrated. You can get it to work but I had to apply it 4 times. I applied it then did highlighter and ended up having to fix the areas that got patchy, I powdered under my eyes and had to apply some to the outer side of the blush, powdered my face and had to touch up the blush yet again. The upside, this blush applies perfectly over top. Because ultimately I was able to get the product to work and it is a pretty product once applied I chose to give this a B-, however I don’t think I will repurchase it… it’s too high maintenance for me.

I give this highlighter a solid A+++!!! : This is so pretty. I love how shinny it is, I’m not sure about the shade though… I may have to try another shade… it looked a little too pink in reflect so that could be from the blush underneath.

Luxuriously lightweight for a dreamy application, this lip mousse allows you to customize your look for any precious occasion.

I give this lipstick a solid A+++ : This lipstick is so comfortable, the shade is pretty and it smells like caramel. It’s not the longest lasting lipstick but at $5 I don’t mind having to reapply.

I give this palette a tentative A++ : I only technically used 3 shades… it was hit and miss… the first shade I used was super pigmented but the chocolate shade I had to really rub my finger hard into the pan to get color payoff and the 2 shades that I mixed together were perfect. I’ll have to play around with it some more to really determine my thoughts about it.

Well that’s all dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.

👄 Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick 👄
