Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m still feeling a bit weak and under the weather so I’m taking a few more days off from playing in my makeup.
I do however have another haul… this one from Makeup Revolution…

*As always… All products listed I purchased myself, all links provided are purely for convenience purposes to help you find the product quickly and are in no way affiliate links. The swatches are done on clean bare skin with no primer and are done in 1 swipe, pictures to the left/top are taking without flash and the right/bottom with flash*
Now… on to the haul, swatches and first impressions…..

1. Makeup Revolution Soap Styler Brow Brush $6 on their website.
I like to do the whole bushy brow look but I hate the way my brows look using soap as the holding agent. I do, however, like to use Got2B Glue hair gel in my brows. When I do my brows I typically use around 4 to 5 cotton buds and 2 disposable mascara spoolie wands. I have been trying to reduce the amount of waste I create so I decided to pick this double ended brush up to see if I could replace the cotton buds and wands. I’m thinking of using the brush end to apply the gel and the spoolie end to comb the brows out… I’ll keep you posted on how well or how poorly this brush preformed.

2. Makeup Revolution Loose Baking Powder ($8 for 1.12 oz / 32 g of product on their website) is billed as an unbeatable setting and brightening power that is the favorite for prolonging the wear of makeup, banishing shine, brightening and balancing skin tone.
There are 10 shades for this powder: Translucent ( for all skin tones), White (for the fairest skin tones), Banana Light (brightening for light skin tones), Banana (brightening for medium skin tones), Banana Deep (brightening for medium to dark skin tones), Lace (for medium skin tones), Beige (for warm medium skin tones), Peach (colour balancing for medium to dark skin tones) Orange (colour balancing to dark skin tones) and Deep Dark (for dark and deep skin tones).
First Impressions: This powder feels silky, it appears to have a slight white cast with flash and bright lighting, and it did not pass the levitation test…. the levitation test is where you pour some of a loose powder into the palm of your hand… then you blow across your hand and if the powder casts up and out it is light enough to use on the under eye area… if when you blow across your palm it blows down and immediately falls to the ground it is too heavy for under the eyes. In this case the powder blew up and to the ground with very little hang time in the air… meaning it’s not extremely heavy but is still heavy enough that it will be cakey under the eyes unless you go in with only the lightest of layers… however the consistency of the powder is perfect for baking… I do not typically bake, when I do it’s only the sides of my nose and the very top part of my contour on my cheeks, however I do plan to use it under the eyes for the lightest of setting to see how that works out.

3. Makeup Revolution Flawless Eye Shadow Palette – Chilled with Cannabis Sativa ($15 for 0.702 oz/ 19.8 g of total product on their website making it 0.039 oz . 1.1 g and $0.83 per shade) is billed as a green toned palette that brings good vibes only. With 18 earthy toned matte, shimmer and pressed glitter powder shadows there’s no end to the amount of eye looks to be had. Infused with nourishing cannabis sativa seed oil, the powder shadows have strong buildable pigments.

The shades from left to right are: Hybrid (silver micro glitter flakes), Goddess (a darkened teal base with larger bright teal glitter flakes), Dope (olive green with a lime green flip – metallic), Plant (true forest green – matte), Acapulco (true gold – metallic), Calm (pale champagne gold – metallic), Huff (taupe based army green with a slight gold shift – metallic), Leaf (bright true green – matte), Bud (clear base with black and bright green larger glitter flakes), * I did not swatch the shades Sativa (a taupe metallic) and Cool (warm toned reddish brown – matte) I must have missed those 2 when I was swatching.

The shades from left to right: Natural (deep forest green – matte), Haze (deep gold – metallic), Mist (blackened true green – metallic), Burn (deep brown – matte), Relax (tan – matte) and Exhale (pale rose gold – metallic).

First Impressions: The color story is stunning but almost all the metallic shades preformed abysmally. Some of the mattes were not as pigmented as others but the glitters were ok. This is the reason I never swatch on primed skin… however, this color story is so pretty that I wanted to give the palette a fair shot and so I primed my arm and reswatched all of the shades except for the glitters…. and all except for Calm (pale champagne gold – metallic) swatched better…. Calm is just not formulated good. I think I may be able to make it work with a white base, glitter primer and a wet brush to apply it, I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime…. with the way this palette swatched I would have been upset with having to pay $15 for a palette that was hit or miss across the board, but since it was free I am happy to have it as part of my palette and wont mind having to work a bit harder to get color payoff… I do however think that the formulas of this palette might not blend and buff out smoothly… time will tell.

4. I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Heart Highlighter Ariel ($10 for 0.2 oz / 5.8 g of product on their website) is billed as their most magical collaboration yet! This shade is a rose gold highlighter.

First Impressions: I already own the Belle highlighter in this line…this highlighter formula is buttery, finely milled and perfectly pigmented. I truly love this shade. I did pick up only 4 of the 5 highlighters in this line because the Tiana highlighter was just totally the wrong color for my skin tone and I’m trying not to just purchase all the products so I have the “full” collection if I’m not able to use an item… it’s a waste of money and of valuable space in my makeup collection.

5. I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Highlighter Jasmine ($10 for 0.2 oz / 5.8 g of product on their website) and is billed as the most magical collaboration yet! This shade is a peachy champagne.

First Impressions: This has got to be my favorite Revolution highlighter yet. It’s got just enough peach to add a hint of depth but not so much peach that it would be unwearable for me.

6. I Heart Revolution x Disney Storybook Heart Highlighter Cinderella ($10 for 0.2 oz / 5.8 g of product on their website) is billed as the most magical collaboration yet! This shade is a white with a pink reflect.

First Impressions: I like this shade. I didn’t think I would… I thought the pink reflect would be too much but it give a really cute fairy vibe.
