Orange and Green Half Cut Crease Face of the Day

Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope… I’m doing pretty darn good today… Low pain and decent energy.

I also am excited because I randomly checked how many reward points I had with Ulta and I had 2131 that equates to $128 that I can use… so tomorrow morning I’m getting up early to do my makeup for the blog and then hopping over to Ulta for an impromptu shopping excursion.

I decided to do an orange and green look since those are shades that I typically steer clear of because I’ve never really likes those shades on me… I love a pop of green but the first time I did a full on Monochrome Green Look I didn’t like it even though many people complemented my on the look. I also have never used the color orange unless I’m doing a sunset or rainbow look… so my look from yesterday being a Pop of Orange was a first for me. So today I decided to really challenge myself and create a green and orange look… For this look I used the L.A.Girl Under The Palm 16 Color Eyeshadow Palette ($15.99 for 35 g/ 1.23 oz of total product, making it $0.99 a shade at Ulta) and the shades Lux (light eggshell – matte) and DreamFul (true white with silver pearl – sequin shadow) from the ColourPop Stone Cold Fox 30 Pan Palette (retails for $34 for 1.16oz / 33 g of total weight on their website making it 0.0387 oz / 1.1 g and $1.13 per shade).

Today’s scent is…

Katy Perry Royal Revolution Perfume ($29.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of perfume at Walgreens) was released in 2014 and is a musky floral scent with notes of:

Top Notes: Pink Freesia and Pomegranate.

Heart Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Sandalwood.

Base Notes: Leather, Musk, Vanilla Orchid and Blackthorn.

Now, on to the walkthrough for today’s Face of the Day….

I set my brows using I set my brows using got2b glued styling spiking hair glue by Schwarzkopf ($14.91 for 3, 6 oz tubes on Amazon, it’s also sold at most drug and big box stores) and the Makeup Revolution Soap Styler Brow Brush ($6 on their website) . I brushed the gel through my brows and used the handle of my spoolie brush to flatten my brows out and once they dried I outlined and then filled in the tails of my brows using AOA Wonder Brow Pomade ($1 on the Shop Miss A website) in Dark Brown. I did the rest of my face and then came back and filled in the front of my brows using the Milani Weekend Brow Pen ($8.99 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.887 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Espresso. I carved out my brows and primed my lids using the Juvia’s Place i Prep i Prime Eye Primer ($12 for 0.406 fl oz / 12 mL on their website) in the shade 1.  For today’s eye look I used the L.A.Girl Under The Palm 16 Color Eyeshadow Palette ($15.99 for 35 g/ 1.23 oz of total product, making it $0.99 a shade at Ulta). I started by setting my brow line with the ColourPop Stone Cold Fox Palette shade Lux (light eggshell – matte). The fest of the look is using the L.A. Girl Palette. For my transition color I used the shade Sandy Toes (peachy tan – matte) I took it from just the top of mobile lids all the way to the brow line shade. For the outer 1/3 of my mobile lids and the full crease I used the shade Summer (mid toned orange based coral – matte). I then used the shade Explore (grey based mid-toned brown – matte) to define the outer v of the crease. I then deepened the outer v using the shade Unplugged (dusty deep brown – matte). I used Micellar Water to create a half cut crease and then buffed more Juvia’s Place i Prep i Prime Eye Primer ($12 for 0.406 fl oz / 12 mL on their website) in the shade 1 over the half cut crease. Over the mobile lid portion of the cut crease I used the shade Panoramic (moss green – metallic). I then took the shade Palms (deep olive green – matte) and tapped that over the very top of the cut crease, from corner of the eye to the end of the cut crease. I then took NYX Long Lasting Glitter Primer ($6.50 for 0.33 fl oz / 10 mL of product at Ulta) the glitter pot from Alora Cosmetics ($3 for 0.11 oz / 3 g of product) called Mad Hatter (line green with holographic glitter). I then took more of the shade Summer (mid toned orange based coral – matte) and buffed that on the line of demarcation between the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer edge of the cut crease to blend the two together. I then added the shade Coral (red based coral – metallic) to the middle of the previous shade for added dimension. For the lower lash line I created a deep drop shadow using the shade Sandy Toes (peachy tan – matte). I then deepened the lash line using the shade Unplugged (dusty deep brown – matte). I then buffed both shades together using the shade Summer (mid toned orange based coral – matte). I then tight lined my upper and lower water lines using NYX Slide On Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($8 for 0.04 oz / 1.13 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Tropical Green (forest green – metallic). To highlight the inner corners of my eyes I used the shade Bucket List (pale coral with a peach flip – metallic).

Complexion:

I primed my face using NARS Radiance Primer ($36 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL at Sephora). I contoured my face using Milk Flex Foundation Stick ($36 for 0.35 oz / 9.92 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Rich (very deep with neutral undertones). I color corrected my under eyes using Makeup Revolution Makeup Revolution Conceal & Correct Concealer ($7 for 0.77 fl oz / 22.77 mL of product on their website) in the shade Peach. I highlighted the high points of the face using bareMinerals Bare Pro Glow Highlighter ($29 but on sale for $23 for 0.47 oz / 14 mL of product on their website) in the shade Free (champagne). For foundation today I am using Makeup Revolution Conceal & Glow Foundation ($12 for 0.8 fl oz / 23.67 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade F6 (light/medium skin tones with neutral undertones). I bronzed using Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Contour ($5.99 for 0.28 fl oz / 8.28 mL of product on their website) in the shade Café Au Lait. I concealed my under eyes using Makeup Revolution Revolution Pro Ultimate Radiant Under Eye Concealer ($7 for 0.15 fl oz / 4.5 mL of product on their website) in the shad c1.

Cheeks, Lips, Lashes and Touch Ups:

For cream blush I used NARS Liquid Blush ($30 for 0.5 fl oz/ 15 mL of product at Sephora) in the shade Orgasm (coral with golden shimmer). I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 for 0.14 oz/ 4.2 g of product at Sephora) and the rest of my face using Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder ($34 for 0.71 oz/ 20 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Cupcake (fair to light skin tones. pink undertones brighten and disguise under-eye darkness.) I touched up my bronzer using Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($26 for 0.04 oz/ 1.3 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Radiant Bronze Light (a warm bronze shade fused with Radiant Light to mimic a summer glow ideal for medium/deep complexions), my blush using ColourPop Cookie Cluster Blush Palette ($12 for 0.3 oz / 8.50 g of total product on their website making it 0.075 oz / 2.13 g and $3 per shade) in the shade oh gingersnap! (bright pinky coral – matte), and my highlighter using Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($9.99 for 0.3 oz /8.50 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Afterglow (champagne). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Brink (terracotta rose) and topped my lips with Beauty Bakerie Matte Lip Whip ($20 for 0.12 fl oz / 3.5 mL of product on their website) in the shade Rose Pose (metallic rose gold) *this shade is no longer available* and then topped that off with Beauty Bakerie Liquid Lip Gloss ($18 for 0.12 fl oz / 3.5 mL of product on their website) in the shade 0.12 fl oz / 3.5 mL of product on their website) in the shade Jellyana (iridescent pink). I did 1 coat of Huda Beauty LEGIT LASHES Double-Ended Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara (this is a 100 point perk from Sephora) and popped on a pair of Eylure Vegas Nay Grand Glamour False Lashes ($12.99 for a 3 pack at Ulta). I filled in the rest of my brows and created the hair flicks throughout the brows using Milani Weekend Brow Pen ($8.99 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.887 mL of product at Ulta) in the shade Espresso . I then used the shade DreamFul (true white with silver pearl – sequin shadow) from the ColourPop Stone Cold Fox Palette to brighten and clean up the brow line. I set my face using ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Setting Mist ($12 for 3.72 fl oz / 100.01 mL of product at Ulta). I used my setting spray at several points in my makeup application so I did not need a touch up powder today.

Final Thoughts:

I really loved the combination of greens and orange with a hint of golden green. It isn’t my normal look and I’m OK with that. The important thing to remember is that it’s OK to venture out of your comfort zone and try a bolder look… it’s only makeup… don’t like the look, tweak it a bit… still don’t like the look… wash it off and start again.

Just a quick small business beauty haul:

The remaining things I purchased from Alora Cosmetics

Alora Cosmetics Fine Eyeliner Brush ($6.99 but on sale for $3.99) is dilled as a fine, tapered brush that helps create smooth, precise lines with cream, gel or powder eyeliner along the lash line for effortlessly defined eyes. Simplify your eyeliner application with this perfect little brush.

I don’t use this style of brush to do cream liner often… I have from time to time, however, the thing that I purchased this brush for is to define the tops of my cut creases and to also use to create a crisp line around my lips when I use red lipsticks.

Alora Cosmetics 26 mm Synthetic False Lashes in the style Hollywood ($9.99 but on sale for $6.99 on their website) is billed as a full tapered lash. Get ready to turn heads with this long lightweight lash.

Their website says these lashes can be worn up to 15 times, however with proper maintenance I was able to wear all her styles for 30 days.

Alora Cosmetics Potted Glitter Singles ($6.99 but on sale for $3 for 0.106 oz/ 3 g of product on their website) is billed as professional body glitter You can use it over makeup, face, body and hair. Glitter is an ultra fine cosmetic grade.

The 3 shades I purchased are: Mother of Pearls (a white glitter with gold and teal reflects), Arctic Blue (solid true blue with a slight silver/light blue reflect), and Golden Dreams (solid 24 K gold with no reflect).

And that’s all I purchased from Alora Cosmetics this time around.

And with that today’s walk through is over….

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night 🌞🌜 and that you are in great spirits and health.

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick👄
