August 2021 Haul #5 – Collective Haul (Ulta and Shop Miss A)

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m not feeling very well today. I have a really sore throat, headache and slight fever. I also have a lot of mucus build up. I really hate getting summer colds. It’s too hot out to be running fever…. I have a doctor appointment in the afternoon tomorrow… so hopefully they will give me meds to help combat it.

I had to orders come in by mail today, my Shop Miss A order and a small order from Ulta, also I had 2131 Ulta Reward Points that equated to $128 so I popped into the shop this morning and purchased a few things as well… I went in looking for the new brow pomade and double ended brush (not currently at Ulta yet..)

So let’s take a closer look at this collective haul…

*As always… All products listed we purchased for me, all links provided are purely for convenience purposes to help you find the product quickly and are in no way affiliate links. The swatches are done on clean bare skin with no primer and are done in 1 swipe, pictures to the left/top are taking without flash and the right/bottom with flash*

First up… The items I purchased from Shop Miss A website. Shop Miss A is an online dollar store that sells everything from makeup (my favorite brand is the AOA Studios brand on their website) to skincare to jewelry and accessories to life and home items to spa and body things… the most I’ve ever paid for items on their website is $2.00. The AOA line has a subline called PAW PAW where their products are $1.55 and that extra $0.55 goes to fight to protect animal abuse. Side note, there are a few things in the $10 to $20 price range (mostly brush sets and huge eyeshadow palettes).

Up first the boring things… AOA Aqua Hydrating Face Primer ($1 for 0.67 fl oz on their website) is billed as ultra-lightweight, refreshing and intensely moisturizing. AOA Wonder Bake Sponge – Black ($1 on their website) is billed as a super soft rectangular shaped beauty sponge for applying loose powder under the eyes and cheeks to “bake” and set makeup and claims to be latex free. AOA Paw Paw Blender Travel Case ($1.55 on their website) is billed as a cute silicone blender case that keeps blender clean and hygienic in between uses, holds 2 paw paw blenders (my favorite beauty blender ever). AOA Cotton Powder Puff- 2 Pack ($1 on their website) is billed as a very soft and plush cotton powder puff. (I also got a 2 pc of air cushions for $1 to use to apply my concealer and correctors but I forgot the name of them). AOA Precision Tip Cotton Swabs ($1 for 50 of them on their website and I purchased 20 packs since I will be doing the makeup for my nieces’ wedding in October).

Paw Paw: Glow Baby Liquid Highlighter ($1.55 for 0.20 fl oz / 6 mL of product each on their website) claims to be new and improved formula, color and packaging, and  claims that these illuminating drops can be used all over the face and body for that glow. It comes in 5 shades, of which I chose the shades (from left to right) Morning Glow and Golden Rose.

Morning Glow (a champagne shade) and Golden Rose (a rose gold shade).

AOA Buttercream Gel Liner & Shadow ($1 per pot on their website)… the first 5 shades are from their NEON line (there are 6 shades but the light blue was out of stock)… the next 6 shades are from their METALLIC line (I purchased all 6 shades in this line)… and the last 8 shades are from their ORIGINAL line (series 1 and series 2) From the Series 1 I was able to snag 4 of the 6 shades and from the Series 2 I was able to grab 4 of the 6 shades.

The shades from left to right and up and down are: Ambition (bright red – neon), Energetic (bright orange – neon), Dance Fever (bright berry – neon), Enthusiastic (bright green – neon), Disco (bright yellow – neon), Glamour (silver – metallic), Elegance (gold – metallic), Luxury (steel grey – metallic), Extravaganza (sage green – metallic), Flirtatious (peacock blue – metallic), Love Story (mauve pink – metallic), Red Velvet (oxblood – series 1), Black Licorice (deep black – series 1), Blueberry (deep navy blue – series 2), Rosé (rose gold metallic – series 1), Sprinkles (lilac metallic – series 2), Birthday (yellow gold metallic – series 1), Sweet 16 (teal metallic – series 2) and Cupcake (bright bluebell metallic – series 2).

AOA Loose Pigment Powders ($1 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product on their website)I have all 13 shades that span three lines : Fantasy Tones (4 shades), Warm Tones (5 shades) and Cool Tones (4 shades) and are billed as shimmery and gorgeous loose pigments are a concentrated color powder that can be used for a wash of color or a more intense look!

The shades from left to right are: Spell (blue brown pigment – warm tones), Magic (icy pink – fantasy tones), Orb (icy white – cool tones), Grail (pale gold – warm tones), Dimension (mauve pink – fantasy tones), Enchant (rose gold and coral duo chrome – warm tones), Griffen (cranberry and orange duo chrome – warm tones), and Wand (orange – warm tones).

The shades from left to right are: Potion (sage green – cool tones), Cloak (teal blue – cool tones), Conjure (deep lilac – cool tones), Crystal Ball (lilac – fantasy tones) and Mystical (powder blue – fantasy tones).

Up next the order I placed on Ulta‘s website.

Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder (fazed out of Ulta but can be found at Sephora and on the Too Faced website… I got it on sale for $17 it’s normal price is $34 for 0.56 oz / 15.88 g of product) and is billed as a silky, lightweight powder that sets makeup for a perfect, luminous finish.

I have 1 open and 1 as a back up… I purchased this one because I thought with the sale so low that this item might be getting ready to be discontinued and this is what prompted my to place a purchase… so this one is the back up to my back up 👍🏼.

No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream ($19.99 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as younger looking skin in just 2 weeks that works to improve the appearance of dark shadows, circles and puffiness for visibly smoother, younger-looking skin.

I’ve been using this eye cream for the past 7 or 8 years now… A very little goes a very long way. In fact, if you use too much you will feel a burning sensation. This is another back up of a back up…. I’m getting ready to open a new tube so I needed to purchase a back up for it.

🚨New Product Alert🚨

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer ($35 for 1 oz / 28.35 g of product at Ulta) is billed as a weightless cream formula for sun-kissed color and sculpted definition. It grips skin with a seamless, matte finish and flexible hold that doesn’t streak, patch, oxidize, or smudge complexion layers underneath. Easily build from soft to bold definition.

It comes in 7 shades with plenty of range for all skin tones. I purchased the shade Hazelnut (tan to deep with warm undertones) it’s the 5th shade in the range…

I prefer my cream bronzers on the deeper side… this gives me more range in case my skin tone changes (not that it ever will with this pandemic I try not to leave the house).

🚨New Product Alert🚨

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Blush ($32 for 0.28 oz/ 8 g of product at Ulta) is billed as an ultra-lightweight cream blush that melts into skin and delivers radiant, natural-looking color with a seamless finish. It creates a soft-focus effect that blurs and diffuses for glowing skin. Get buildable, long-lasting color that won’t streak or smudge.

It comes in 5 shades, this one is Peachy Keen (soft peach).

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Liner ($18 for 0.08 fl oz/ 2.4 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as a waterproof, highly pigmented, true-black matte liquid liner that glides on evenly and delivers precise lines with ease. Featuring a soft felt-tip precision applicator, this liner lets you flawlessly create everything from sharp thin lines to dramatic bold lines without skipping or running.

This is a brush wand applicator that does not feather into fine lines.

Up last the in store purchase I made at Ulta today.

L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum ($19.99 for 1 fl oz / 30 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as the 1st tinted serum with 1 percent Hyaluronic Acid. Instantly brightens, evens and hydrates all in one.

It comes in 10 shades, I originally purchased the shade Light 2-3 but it was too dark for me but I loved the formula so much that I decided to purchase the light shade Very Light 0.5-2, I’ll be giving the darker shade to my god daughter when I see her in October.

This is shade Very Light 0.5-2

Here is the difference between Light 2-3 and Very Light 0.5-2.

Tarte Travel Size Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer ($10 for 0.03 fl oz / 0.89 mL of product for the mini and $29 for 0.33 fl oz / 9.76 mL of product for the full size at Ulta) is billed as Tarte’s iconic Shape Tape Concealer, now in an EVEN CREAMIER cushiony formula that delivers 24-HR moisturization! Meet Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer!

It’s offered in 35 shades (I chose 20 B Light light skin pink undertones).

I chose to go with the mini because I wanted to test it out before committing to the full sized since this is a high pigment product and a very little is all that you need…. when I use to have the original Shape Tape it lasted so long that it went bad… and I really didn’t like it as a concealer so I would only use it as an eye primer… so far from this swatch I like it… I’ll test it out tomorrow to see how it does under the eyes.

NYX Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen ($11 for 0.03 fl oz / 1 mL of product at Ulta) is billed as a flexible micro-brush tip pen that allows you to create thin to thick lines that actually look like hairs IRL. Tinted, buildable shades allow you to go from a super natural look to super snatched in a few quick flicks! Create a brow from nothing, fill in sparse areas, or build on top of your already snatched brows. Up to 16HR wear: Smudge-resistant. Transfer-resistant.

It comes in 10 shades (I purchased Espresso).

It bleeds a little but not much and I think I like this pen better than the Milani Weekend Brow Pen.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade ($21 for 0.14 oz/ 4 g of product at Ulta) is billed as an  award-winning waterproof, multitasking, and buildable matte pomade that stays put. Apply and blend a small amount of Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade with an angled brow brush to effortlessly outline, fill, and texturize brows.

It comes in 11 shades and I purchased the shade Ebony (black hair with warm undertones)

I switch from pencil to pomade so much that I can’t really figure out which I like more… I haven’t used Dipbrow pomade is such a long time… my brow game is better now so I should get good results and not sharpie brows.

Stila Convertible Color ($25 for 0.15 oz / 4.25 g of product at Ulta) is billed as a multi-tasking marvel that brightens cheeks and lips with creamy, translucent color. A must-have in every Stila girl’s makeup bag.

It comes in 6 shades, I purchased the shade Petunia (coral peach cream).

I tested this product out on my lips and it was so uncomfortable. It felt like sand on the lips and also was very drying on the lips as well… however as a blush this is going to be stunning.

Benefit Cosmetics Tickle Powder Highlighter ($30 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product at Ulta) is billed as Amp up your radiance and dust Benefit’s featherlight, silky-fine Tickle Powder Highlighter along cheekbones for an irresistible golden-pink luster. Includes a built-in mirror and powder brush for easy, seamless application. It’s described as a Golden Pink shade.

I purchased this one because the box reminded me of the Benefit Cosmetics Cookie Powder Highlighter ($30 for 0.28 oz / 8 g of product at Ulta) is billed as A swirl of golden pearl! A gorgeous glow is just a sweep away! Stroke Benefit’s silky-fine Cookie Powder Highlighter along cheekbones for a soft-gold shimmer. Includes a built-in mirror and powder brush for easy, seamless application.

They look so similar, Cookie is the older sister and Tickle is the baby sister.

On the left is Tickle and on the right is Cookie.

Benefit Cosmetics GALifornia Sunny Golden-Pink Powder Blush ($30 for 0.17 oz / 5 g of product at Ulta) is billed as Benefit’s GALifornia Sunny Golden-Pink Powder Blush is part sun, pure fun! It blends bright pink with shimmering gold, for a sunkissed glow that complements all skintones. GALifornia features an embellished gold overspray that lifts away with each use. The formula contains subtle shimmer throughout that gives cheeks a soft sheen. The Signature Galifornia Dreamin’ scent features notes of pink grapefruit & vanilla. It comes complete with a custom rounded blush brush for soft, diffused application.

This is such a pretty blush!!! I shied away from it in the past because I wasn’t really into satin blushes… ever since jumping on the cream blush band wagon I like satin blushes over matte blushes much more.

And with that, this haul is done.

I hope you have a great rest of your day/night 🌞🌜and that you are in great spirits and health.

👄Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick👄
